Why ME3 needs bi or homosexual relationship opportunities.

I'm sure there are some horrible problems with this, but I can't think of what they are. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd like to hear them.

Well
then, you know I'm right. So with that in mind perhaps you should shake
my hand instead of slapping my face? Personal attacks are unwarranted.
For anyone else who's wondering, I also said "Troll penises are actually too tiny to matter."
You slapped all of us with your comment, so that is what I do in return to your kind, including BioWare. You come in this thread thinking you can be the biggest person with just a sound-byte that insults more people than you can imagine, as if you can get away with that.

For my part I don't care whether gays are represented or not. I don't think Bioware does either, or any company. What they care about is profit.
Of-course, one needn't be gay necessarily to enjoy same-sex relationships in the game. Male gamers are the majority though and that is why we get Fhemshep + Liara but no Kaidan + Shep or other male on male romances.

Well I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to insult you. I was merely making an observation. A true one, which you admitted to. So I don't know how pointing out the reality of your situation makes me a troll.
Perhaps you found it demoralizing?

I found it patronizing from somebody who enjoys only pointing out the obvious in hopes of trying to "demoralize" those of us who usually act as if our choices need be limited by your kind. Do please keep it up; you're even more sport to me than any of us might be to you.

I mean let's face facts - most games we can't play as our own gender, and most of the protagonists we get aren't FOR us. Also, it's well known that female gamers are often fond of teh gay, whether it be in the form of slash or yuri or what have you, so implementing more same sex options would also please a lot of female gamers.
Still, a lot of the time we're seen as a minority not worth serving - it's better to add a new death animation for getting shot in the balls than it is to add a playable female model. This kind of thinking only exacerbates the problem: I'm much less likely to play a game where I can't play as a female, so I have less impact on the market, so I'm less likely to play games. When I was growing up, girls and boys played Super Nintendo equally. It was only when we moved on "up" and saw fewer opportunities for our gender that many of us quit playing.
Basically, assuming a particular market isn't worth getting means you'll never know what that market can do for you. And that's bad. Most of the time Bioware is better than most about this, but they still aren't perfect. So I'd say it's important to laud them for when they do right, and give polite feedback when they do wrong.
(For instance, I never buy any tie-in merch or media that features only male Shepard. That doesn't mean I'm going to boycott ME3 unless Femshep is on the box. Baby steps.)

@Saphra operating under the impression that you're being totally serious, thats an awful train of logic that is bound to derail soon, so i want you to jump off before you get smashed. THe size of the minority has never mattered, and saying that it's too small to count, therefore, wont get a fair say is shortsighted. Thing is, even if gays are a small minority, you have those that think everybody has the right to be happy and comfortable in their life, or at least no one should be subjugated to 2nd class citizen status due to what makes them happy. and we make up, if not the majority, then a very large minority.AdmiralCheez wrote...

Here's the funny thing... if you think gays are too small of a minority to matter, then so are female gamers.
There are a hell of a lot more women in the world than there are gays. As such there is more money to be made in appealing to them. In fact, quite a lot of money is being made off of women playing games. Those games aren't typically XBox or PS3 titles though.
Men are a more likely sell with games like Mass Effect so of-course they are the focus of the marketing. That's why Femshep is so awkard at times. She is an afterthough.
Personally I think the game might have been better if there were no female Shepard. It would free up a lot of redundant assets. Those extra resources could be used to develop other characters.

It matters to a for-profit company. That is why Bioware doesn't market its games towards the elderly. Sure, elderly play games, there might even be an old guy or two playing ME2, but they're too small a minority for Bioware to want to right whippersnappers, hard n' bitters, and the AARP into their story.

Ahh, this argument again. I'll give the same answer I did the last time I encountered it.
Answer: Yes!
We should at least consider it. Considering nobody plays those classes we should consider doing away with them and instead perfecting Shepard as a soldier. No need to tie him to a class. The class system could be completely changed or done away with. The game might be better for it and we all might mostly still enjoy it.
Whenever it is discovered that a certain feature of the game is being underused we need to at least contemplate getting rid of it. After all, any content that is created, whether seen by the player or not, costs money and time.

Done to death. Also the wrong method entirely.
Any "politely submitted petitions" only conveniently funnel us away from engaging in extended dialogue or from creating bad BioWare publicity that garners attention the way these threads do.

You aren't generating any bad publicity here. If you truly feel this way go to Fox News and tell them your story.

Bioware goes the extra mile to include things such as romances, morality, class, and gender because they know that players value choice. So the majority of players make the same choices, so what? Making the option available is what's important.
In short, BW doesn't share your philosophy, and therefore will consider the opinion of the minority.

Uh huh, that's why the latest DLC had so much "choice" in it, right? Come on now. Bioware only cares about what will make them a profit. They are a business.
The only choice they care about you making is the one to give them your money or not.
