Is that the message from EA and Bioware? To hell with the heterosexual male gamers - go back to Duke Nukem? Okay, shall I take my revenue generating game play elsewhere then? I'd rather play games in a more remotely believable universe. Duke Nukem certainly comes to mind, right after pacman and Tetris.
I think Bioware is heterophobic.
Goodbye! Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
And try to get some...tolerance. Your insecurity is truly disturbing.
Its funny how my husband played and did NOT end up in a romance with any of the male character.
And thats because HE KNEW HOW TO PLAY and he is SECURE IN HIS MANHOOD that things like that don't affect him.
If you think Duke Nukem is a more believable universe. I truly feel sorry for you.
Yeah, funny how my husband and all his friends never ended up in a romance with any of the male characters playing as a male.
Thats because we have SMART MEN!

As for Isabela and Zevran. When you bring her to meet Jethann and she says how he reminds her of someone? It's him. She has a soft spot for the guy. She slept with him and even he eventually killed her husband. He is a charming guy and gave her this freedom she wanted and a ship. So I'm sure a part of her really likes him. Just they could never truly work out. Think of that entire scene as just a "Hey players remember how they KNEW each other in the pearl?". That was the writers just bringing it up again. I got her to not sleep with him. She wasn't happy but she agreed.

So, now that we know who's sitting in IM with a pal or two going "I bet I can make people froth at the mouth" I'd like to redirect this entire post to something useful, like Thedas-specific cooking recipes.

Mass Effect 2 didn't have all this homosexual love affair crap in it, and I remember it as being a highly engrossing, high quality rpg. Funny how you can make an rpg without a gay pride day parade running through it and it still turn out to be okay isn't it?
See you have proven yourself to be an insecure homophobic troll.
You just clicked on those buttons to see what would happen and you are just mad about it.

Option #1: I support you and Mages.
Option #2: Oh no, big Templar man, what are you going to do with that sword?
Option #3: **** off.
Option #4: Hey, would you mine holding my package while I take off my shirt?
Yes, serrah, you sure chose the supportive option.

Donotingest - Ah more stupid commentary. The elf girl - 'Merrill' is it? (just shows how believable I found the characters in this game that their names really didn't stick) really looks like a tween and hardly has the appearance of a 20 year old. She looks like a jail-bait elf teenager - hardly suitable for a romance option in my view.
While I won't argue the text above this quote to be potentially stupid, I will argue this on my previous post.
Merrill is voiced by an adult actress, is fairly tall for a female elf, has her adult blood tattoos (Of course, considering you can't get "Merrill", "Isabela", or "Zevran" right, I think your knowledge of game lore has spoken for itself), and is quite an accomplished mage, I think I'm justified in saying you're full of ****.
I feed the trolls for the same reason I feed my overweight Shetland Sheepdog: They give those puppy eyes, and... "D'AWWW!"

Regarding openly homosexual relationships in a medieval setting... We're in Thedas. Okay, forgetting that there are dragons, undead, and mages wandering about, this is a rather different cultural setting. Feudalism is not dominant. The messiah is a female, and so are most clergy. Women are allowed in the army. Questions of historical inaccuracy just don't apply here.
Another point: if you consider homosexuality to be depravity, fine, that's your... thing. But I'm thinking that, along those lines, you probably ought to have problems with the presence of a brothel, the murder of children, the rampant racism, and hey, why not the increased cursing?
Oh yeah, and someone's getting his head cut off just about every other minute.
But if that's your one moral issue with the game, then enjoy your odd moral priorities... and almost any other game.

Depending on your dialog options - I simply questioned Isabella about her proposed tryst - and so she went ahead anyway (after proposing a threesome); the failure of choice came in when I sailed off into the sunset with her at the end of the game - this would not have happened.
Again, I just don't feel that all of this is necessary and I do think it distracts from the experience. There are really no good choices for heterosexual romance in DA2. It's not choice that I'm complaining about, but rather a lack of choice.

It actually has 0 homosexual content if you avoid the brothel and don't **** guys in the ass. I see you have trouble stopping yourself from either.

Well Torax, at least your commentary is reasonable, but I disagree with you on Isabella, and given the game's scarce manual and jump in and play style, I have to disagree with you somewhat on the Anders heart dialog choice as well (many people will not understand what the heart means, and it isn't fair to thrust them into that situation).

The choice in relationships aren't horrible. Though I'm not as fond of the characters personally. I mean both DA games had the untamable girl. Morrigan for Origins and Isabela for DA 2. The nice girl is Leliana for Origins and Merrill. It is true that is seems limiting to a Mass Effect 2 player that wants 3 same sex options. Dragon Age didn't have this. Mass Effect 2 did. Now instead what you have without the DLC is 4 possible relationships. Just 2 are female and 2 are guys. Not liking the characters is on you though and not on bioware.

Anyway, I'm done with this board and with the series. I'll be returning my copy of the game to the used pile at my local video game store and not purchasing any of the new DLC. Bioware has chosen a direction that throws many of its gamers to the way side. That's a choice that they will have to live with.
