Is it possible...

Greetings!

I am barely more than a novice modder, and have no experience in NWN or, right now, DA:O, and my experience is in modding Oblivion.  I've done plenty of scripting, custom texturing, quest writing, etc., ...in Oblivion.  It seems to me that Oblivion's Construction Set is light years easier and more flexible in most ways to the DA:O toolset, especially concerning scripting. (C++?? come on....how big do they think the scripting modding community is going to get with one of the most non-intuitive programming languages as their scripting language??  I'll take ease of use and a bigger community over power any day).

Anyway, my question is simple:  Is it possible to import models from some Oblivion mods for play in Dragon Age?  I'm thinking of things like Adonnay's Elven weapons (a huge collection of beautifully done weapons) for starters.  I find most (not all) of the weaponry in Dragon Age to be pretty lackluster if not downright ugly.  I loathe that a dragonbone sword has the entire weapon a dark red color like Earl Scheib painted it rather than just the blade, (the same goes for dragonbone armor...even the non-metallic parts are dark red).  Some of the nicest armor in the game isn't even available for play (Duncan's for one, for another, the elf Shaevra in the back room of the Pearl in Denerim has on a set of armor that I can't find the equal of in the toolset anywhere).

While the armor that is available isn't bad looking (mostly), the weapons almost all seem to have been stored in a stagnant, rusty pond under a pile of rubble...even Duncan's weapons appear rusted and poorly cared for, which just sucks.

The choices of weapons and armor are so disappointingly few as well, which results in this post.  I haven't touched 3D Studio or Autocad in many years, nor can afford to buy them, so my thoughts are on importing more armor and weapons (NOT from Oblivion's stock stuff, that's pretty ugly too, and illegal).

I have high hopes that highly skilled modelers and texture artists will create much in the future but I'm wondering what can be done now.  Heck, I can't even make use of the models from the DLCs like Starfang (because none of the DLCs seem to be available to load in the toolset) so I'm trying to figure something else out.  Like putting hooded cloaks in the game, and capes..and...and...well you get the picture :)  (Hey, the Sacred Ashes trailer movie had hooded cloaks in it, but yet they're not in game.... does that suck or what)  I digress.  Hopefully some of you folks that have long experience modding NWN and are now set to do well in DA:O can shed some light and hope here :)

Many thanks!
