I say yes. I have yet to find something wrong with him.. While the other characters sometimes have exaggerated behaviours, Varric is just made perfectly. But I want to hear it from you guys: do you think he has any flaws?
Varric: is him flawless?

My female Hawke would have bedded him in a heart beat. He's an evil tease.

He's just a little bit too awesome. Too amazing. Too funny. Too irresistible.

He apparently sneaks in to Hawke's room and edits her journal. Other than that he was refreshingly uncomplicated, the group needed a guy like him.

He is full of win, as a character and fighter. Great job, Bioware.

Well he is a compulsive liar, and a little shady. But even his flaws are awesome.

Bedding him? Ew, that'd be like sleeping with your brother
. He's amazing character though, best friend character type I ever encountered in a video game

Give them credit. So far in all the games, dwarves are the ones who seem far more loyal to their species compared to others. Even the Father with the female Elf next to him in DA2, the female Elf is an employee and not his wife. Basically his maid/nanny as they seem to describe it. Dwarf males don't mind looking at hot humans and elves but it stops there. Now if only my female Hawke was a shape shifter...

Yeah, Mary did an amazing job with him. He's solidly funny, good but just shady enough to keep from being TOO good, and he somehow manages to be everything to everyone without coming across as fake or insincere.
Also, a paragon of manliness.

I think dwarves are made VERY well in Dragon Age.. They are similar to the classical dwarves, but they also have their own traits (fear of the sky, dust town, the Champions..) Oh and. You don't want Varric telling a story about him bedding you.

Sigrun, Varric and Oghren are some of my favorite characters. Sigrun being the closest to my heart.

As for flaws, uh... well, he's sort of in denial about his background while still tied to it. He has nothing good to say about Orzammar but won't let Bartrand go to the Deep Roads because he's "the head of the family." I wonder if he ends up being drawn back into Orzammar politics.
And he writes sensationalist fanfiction.

I want to know Bianca's story but he won't give it up to anyone, not even Isabela.
Besides that...no flaws.

Well he's damned good at creating a character that is believably awesome without being completely annoying!
Also...did I mention manly?

He loves Bianca more than me!
*sob*
But in other games I never really liked dwarves but In the DA games Sigrun and Varric are totally epic.

Ooooh I hadn't even thought of that! If that was intentional on the writers' part, that is UNBELIEVABLY CLEVER.

That was exactly my thought. He's so perfect, but he's telling the story. I also figured that Isabela's obvious 'enhancements' over Isabela from the Pearl in DAO is due to Varric's exaggerations.
