i really really hope that letting the rachni live is a mistake. it'd be a fantastic twist. everyone i know went back to save the rachni queen once they learned it was nice to you in ME2 figuring that they'd join your side in ME3. i hope its the opposite personally.

because the rachni messenger basically says the reapers "corrupted" their songs and thats what caused them to get all violent. now if the reapers can corrupt their song and make them violent wouldnt that make them a BAD ally to have against the reapers? i think the reapers should just corrupt them again.

also i hope cerberus is alot more competent in ME3 and maybe even being good guys, that'd be pretty awesome too.

it'd be more interesting than good choices are always good and bad choices are always bad. make a good choice turn out badly, or make a bad choice turn out good.

I played through with the hope of building support or a consensus for the final battle as well, but I'm hoping it isn't a 'choose between your crew or the friends you made during your journey' scenario- I want them all to play a role. Shock troops, hackers, financiers, charismatic speakers, they will all be needed if life is to have any chance at repelling the latest Reaper extinction cycle, and from the look of things, any player with a sufficient enough Paragon OR Renegade score can will people to his side, to follow his lead wherever the road leads.

I usually always Save the Rachni Queen, always save Wrex, Re-write the Geth, Try to garner the support of the Migrant fleet in my flowery speech, Tell TIM to shove it because if anything, ME1 taught me that Cerberus is every bit as ruthless as the reapers, so they *don't* need access to tech of that magnitude. I do every side mission my squaddies or Hackett asks me to, because sometimes people remember the little things, and having so many in such positions of power (the transhuman studies guy, helena blake, hackett, aria, etc) could come in very handy once the threat becomes too real for even the air quoting councilor to deny. Placing Liara as the New Shadow Broker extends shepard's reach to the stars, unshackling EDI makes his ship the smartest construct in open space, and getting to know Legion bridges a gap and establishes relations with the Perseus Veil that have likely never been attempted in such a manner before. Then you have the greatest thief alive, and a co-founder of the Blue Suns, and you took out a thresher on foot. These things carry great respect in unofficial circles, and may provide even more allies when the time comes.

I doubt you can do anything to gain the support of such simplistic creatures as the Vorcha... but they're almost useless anyway. The Batarians, for all their eyes, can't seem to be able to see past old wounds and hatreds either. I'd still reach out to the volus, the elcor, and the hanar though. Each has a strength, a role to play, and only by allowing everyone the chance to fight for the galaxy can you truly unite it.
