... If so, Do her lines differ in DA2? and also HOW IN THE WORLD DID SHE SURVIVE THAT??!!!
Just curious, might have already been discussed somewhere else, but I didn't find anything about it.

I believe it is just ignored cause she'd be well dead.

I found this:

I don't know if Hawke says it in game due to all the flag bugs, but it's there.

She lives because anyone who kill her or doesn't even meet her in DA:O is playing it wrong.

I get the idea that in these games the only "canon" deaths are the murder knife ones. Just because you fight someone and defeat them, doesn't mean you actually killed them AFAIK. Actually there are tons of quests in which you defeat people in battle only to have them alive after the combat is done.

Killing someone in Andraste's sacred temple is a bad idea if you want them to stay dead.

And has a heavy dose of plot armor.

Or it could be a number of flag bugs.

Personally I just saved the game. Sided with him to unlock Reaver and the reloaded to kill him. The sensible thing to do.

I believe the dev said she was 'just left for dead'. she didn't actually died. the looting and head loss are just game mechanics...

*As soon as you learn Reaver spec, you hear a shout echo from the mountains*
Leliana: Your monkeys failed to finish the job, Kolgrim! All for what? Reaver spec? You are too late. The preparations have already begun. Soon the Maker will make his return! And there is nothing you or your dragon can do to stop me! Lay down your arms and succumb to the might of Andraste!

This would not be the fist time Leliana was stabbed and left for dead. Remember Marjolaine? She survived that one too. Maybe the ashes still had healing properties even after they were corrupted. Maybe the Lyrium in the cavern healed her. Maybe she was simply playing dead.

Well, I suppose this makes sense, except when I killed her on my Origins bad guy run....it did that warrior beheading finisher animation to Leliana.

She stole one of your injury kits when you weren't looking.

Problem is, finishing moves to named characters are rarely canon. As a game mechanic, they can't be turned off against any enemy, except when it's a scripted cutscene like Loghain's.

Possibilities of Leliana's survival?

1) Sacred Ashes healed her. Apparently, they still work despite the desercration, or that there's still enough of the non-corrupted ones to work.

2) She used Feign Death. Even if you never actually had her learn it, she has the skill in canon perhaps.

3) You knocked her out, and left her for dead. However, she was determined to make it, and despite all odds, escaped from the mountains with injuries.

I'm more interested in the video more than some of the comments trying to explain how she's alive if you killed her now. So is that what's supposed to occur if you did not meet her / declined her in Lothering or if you killed her during Sacred Ashes? Is the Leliana in that video implying that the Leliana we met in DA:O was a fake?

Maybe Leliana secretly had Plot Armor all this time to prepare her for Dragon Age 3.

Maybe Cerberus picked her up and reanimated her.

Someone commented about a day ago in a thread where I said how The Divine rebuilds Hawke for Dragon Age 3. heh.
