Now I don't mind giant spiders but when they are this big there is a problem. The Angry One wrote...
I think the next game developers who put giant spiders in their game should be arrested for psychological harrasment.

you can do the same thing with the dragon later on in the deep roads, just keep going back until you go through the small doorway and the dragon can't touch you

You would think: Giant Centipede, Gorilla, Vulture, Octopus... "something" else but these stupid spiders... would come to mind.

The thing that got me spooked was when it ignored the rest of my attacking companions and reared up to attack just me. I was like, "Don't come after me, go after Varric, he's shooting arrows at you!" Then it proceeded to follow me as I was trying to put some distance between it.
All I could do was laugh because a spider that size would have had the physical strength of 20 rhinos.

It just makes me very, very thankful that giant insects can't occur in modern times. (For anyone that doesn't know, much larger insects did exist in prehistoric times, but the Earth has changed much since then. Their respiratory systems work differently than ours; they require far more oxygen content in the air to grow much larger than their current size. They simply could not breathe today.)
You should tell that to Bethesda and their Fallout 3 giant cockroach spam.
Why do game makers feel it necesarry to torture us with giant insects? Why?

You know it's odd video game bugs don't normally bother me but something about the fallout roachs was disturbing.
Now in real life I spray from a distance then use the vacuum if they're big. lol

Did anyone else **** bricks when they saw this? And then laughed when all it took to kill it was to climb up the stairs where it couldn't reach you and it would just sit there while you slowly wacked away at its health, having no ranged attack of its own. But seriously disgusting.
Not really, a lot of fights are like this. No need of tactics required.

Same strategy there, place your characters on the stairs and shoot it until it drops, it will just stand there looking at you, with those big cute spidey eyes.

Because they're all twisted. I mean they look at an evironment and they think, "what this dark cave needs is a giant insect"
And yes it is also true that at one time insects were enormous. There was a BBC program I saw years ago called Walking with Monsters. All I can say is life would be very bad if those guys were still around.
