I was just wanting to know what everyone's opinion was on
the conversation with Harbinger, I kinda of think it should have
a very long coversation with them, to learn about them, understand them,
history of them whiping out civilizations before, more convo was needed,
this was the turning point for bioware to add that to the game right before
ME3 and ruined it.

ME3 is being put to the test right now for all the fans, Me 1 And 2 where good
very good, but when it comes down to it Mass Effect's name is waging in the balance
because this is the final game for shepard, so all is being watched, meaning that
everyone is exspecting Bioware to go all out on this one, the hit of the century,
the game that will always be remembered above all else. That is the ultimate game.

Im hoping that ME3 will be twice as long as 1 and 2 put together, all side missions and main game
combined, that would be the hit of ME3.

::Bioware::
If any of yall read this, as I stated above ^ about the all knowing reapers, when the ending
of me3 comes to pass please for the love of god and every mass effect worker and fan out there
to end it with harbinger dying and giving a 30 minute conversation about how the reapers started,
where they came from, what all they have done in the past, what there intensions of whiping everyone
out, give some ending plot to the destruction of the reapers.

To me these are very important conceptes over making me3 a game to remember.

Does anyone else agree?
Am I being optimistic?

What is yalls opinion on this matter?

You were on an asteroid heading towards a solar system destroying explosion, and all you wanted to do was talk?

I wanted that too, even if it it was with someone with an IQ lower than Shepards.

And no, I don't fully want to understand the Reapers. They are beyond our comprehension. Please Bioware, don't give us some ****ed up cliché history about them.

Let's keep some of the Reaper mystery for ME3, shall we. In fact, I'd be happy with them never revealing everything about them, keep us guessing and give us just enough to have some in-depth discussions in the future. Too many of the mysteries in ME have been revealed and consequently ruined. Once we know everything, it stops being interesting.

Sovereign said the Reapers were beyond our comprehension, let's keep it that way. All we need to know is how to defeat them.

see now your seeing outside of the box, thats what im saying,
we have been fighting them through other species like the collecters,
finding a way to stop them, what is the point of fighting an enemy you
know nothing about.

Although I wanted more of that awesome Reaper-shaped Harbinger hologram tlaking to my Shep, I'm willing to wait for a debate with Harbinger in ME3, just like with Sovereign in ME1.

And that Shep in renegade only said "Bring it on".

Survival? We know they want to kill us, so to survive we need to kill them first. We can worry about understanding them after the fact.

I don't think Harbinger is going to spill Reaper secrets to his enemies anyway, no Reaper would do so.

I wasn't expecting Haribinger to go all Vigil on us there, besides, why would he let Shepard no anything? But I was expecting there to be a bit more reaper mythology in Arrival than what we got, which other than the alpha relay, was nothing. Object Rho we learned really nothing about. In ME3 though, I expect to get answers on the Reapers, their origins their motives. I do believe in keeping stories mysterious and ambiguous enough to enable further debate and discusion, but with the Reapers, certain things need to be explained and developed further because right now they are just big stupid "evil" machines with little substance. In a game all about the moral ambiguity and shades of grey, Id like an enemy with greater complexity. Plus the potential for the origin story is so intriguing it would be a waste not give it.

You clearly have been brainwashed by Shepard with all his doomsaying! Really!

Dr. Kenson figured it out, quoting from one of her Research logs: "It's foolish to assume that the Reapers mean doom for the galaxy. Legends say they've come through before, and yet life continues, doesn't it?"

Shepard is dooming the whole galaxy! Reapers are our salvation :P

I don't WANT to know about the Reapers entire history.

"I am beyond your comprehension. I am Sovereign." Keep it that way please.

Although i DO have one problem with one of Harbinger's lines..

Harbinger: PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THE ARRIVAL

Shepard: ...Don't you mean "Our Arrival"?

Harbinger: THE ARRIVAL!

Shepard: No no no, its "Our Arrival" if you want to sound menacing at least put it into proper grammar context.

Would turn out creepy, if Reapers actually invaded the galaxy and killed off advanced spieces to protect them from something else.....

ME3 will probably explain a loooooooooooooooooooooot

Actually, I'd better show the guy a middle finger and get the hell from that asteroid. Cause you know, it kinda approaches The Big Thing in the sky, no? Where is Renegade Interruption when you need it?

Wow.. You do have strong feeling on this don't you, you are serious..
Ok, what makes you think that habinger is going to sit there and have a long nice conversation with shepard about his history and motives so you can understand them and... learn about them? What makes you think it would make sence for that to happen?
Why in the hell would harbinger give a damn about having a chat with shepard? what the hell!
Buddy! we are talking about the REAPERS, the same reapers that take the time to WIPE OUT all life in the galaxy so that....... wait for it.......... nobody can learn about them!
Why do you think we don't know much about the reapers? HUH and you STILL feel it would have made sence for harbinger to sit there have a nice chat with shepard? LOL

Twice as long as ME1 and ME2 put together??? You are asking for waaay too much there mate.

I won't mind if it is just as long as ME2 - 25 - 30 hours is more than enough to finish the story.

And I agree, I don't want to know everything about the Reapers - keep the mystery intact.

I really just saw the conversation with Harbinger as a "Hey man, you destroyed my legos. I'm commin' to kick your ass."

A sort of 'sore loser' taunt, if you will.

Bold is cruise control for cool

I'd like to note that no game will ever be the "Game of the century" because gaming is constantly moving forward, the idea that even Mario will last through the next 60 years is unlikely. I don't want Mass Effect to try to be the best thing ever, I want a good game now.

A half an hour conversation would be the most boring idea ever. If I wanted to watch a movie, I would play Metal Gear Solid 4. Finding it out over the course of the game is fine but no, not a half hour lecture about the anatomy of the reapers. That would just be bad pacing and likely bad writing. Mass Effect 2 had a completion rate of about 50%, almost unheard of in an industry with an average completion rate of 20%. Do we really want the main barrier to anyone seeing the main credits roll to be a goddamn history lesson?

I'm glad they didn't reveal much in Arrival... I'd like to learn it all in ME3. I'd also like to learn more about the Protheans in ME3. And learn more about EVERYTHING in ME3.

edit:  the one thing I really wanted to know more about in Arrival was Object Rho, it's purpose, and more about Kenson's research.

Silly OP.   If Harbinger was smart, maybe he would play it that way.  It may be low, but he could have given all their secrets in an effort  to keep Shepard distracted long enough for him to be killed in the explosion.

Is that what you want OP? Jeez rooting for the reapers is like ruiting for the Yankees.  I bet you're a big Duke fan too

Pretty much You had a matter or minutes to

A. get back to your ship

B. get far enough away that you do get blown up.

Besides Sovereign explained enough in ME1. what more do you need to know, that was really going to be explained in ME2 DLC?
