I trust that Bioware will make ME3 great because I haven't been let down yet. However, I really do hope that multiplayer is not included, that would suck!

Why is everyone so afraid of multiplayer? Are you guys afraid the MP would take too much of the dev's attention away from the campaign? Or perhaps you don't want the annoying immature fans of a certain super-popular and overrated shooter to invade the ME community?

Multiplayer and humans are super-duper special plot.

If humans are some kind of "special" species or whatever, I will destroy my copy of ME3.

Believe or not I'm afraid of this as well. I've seen alot of threads with people requesting ( and demading  ) that certain things about ME2 be changed or that certain things from ME1 should make a ccomeback and to be honest with you alot these suggestions make me cringe.

They really just need to mix both together. It would work.

ME2 combat system - ME1 leveling system - ME1 large environments (Citadel, etc.) and more exploration - ME2's armor customization - ME2's character depth...

Really, a lot of the things in ME1 and ME2 should just be mixed. Get the best of both.

Also, I think I'd like the plot to be much more relevant than that of Mass Effect 2. ME2's plot was practically filler and didn't really need to happen.

Whining fans would make ME3 bad.

@Metroidbum Totally agree, although some ideas have been brilliant and I think those are the ones BioWare will listen to, not the stupid ones. (Remember "Dear Bioware...no femshep in ME3 please"? Man, did that guy get flamed.)

True, but I'm talking about the overall plot line. The Collectors are irrelevant in the overall plotline. ME2 did not advance the story as much as it could have.

This was said in over in the Campaign & Storylines forum...

Building the team to go and rescue
that doctor (instead of the whole collector thing) could have been
reworked and expanded into a pretty good game. A stealth rescue mission
into Batarian Space, it could have included the VS and Balak too. And
the whole time we are gradually learning more about the Reapers and
their new plan to enter the galaxy.

Missions like the dead
reaper ship could have been almost left the same except you are trying
to retrieve something to understand the reaper artifact instead of the
IFF. The Admiral could have replaced TIM (although I like TIM) so maybe
work in both, and there would be no need for the whole collector, baby
reaper angle. Even your supposed "death" could have been used as part
of your cover and deniability for the Alliance,

"Shepard in Batarian Space? you must be joking, Shepard is dead"

There could even have been a whole council political angle too.  I dunno, I could see that all being kinda cool.

That would have made ME2 much better while still keeping the 'build relationship with characters' thing.

In ME1 the council acknowledges that Saren is a traitor with a single 10 seconds transmission tali got from a geth.

so its a bit strange that the player were not given the opportunity to transmit the location of a "dead" reaper to the council to proof their existence even though TIM gave Shepard free reign to get the help of the Council in ME2

What would make ME3 bad
~ Less RPG elements in favour of more shooty shooty
~ "Streamlining"
~ Making it "more accessible"
~ Making it "an excellent entry point"
~ Catsuits instead of armor
~ More "Rule of Cool"
~ More Shepard worship
~ Tossing aside current squadmates for new ones.
~ More plot holes
~ No consequences for choices
~ Retconning choices.
~ More examples of "Humans are special"
~ Multiplayer

To listen to BSN.

Now on BSN, flocks of forumites have plot-hole spasms regarding Arrival, and fear the dumbing down of mass effect will cause the cities of Illium and Omega to be flooded by the tsunami of the great biotic god.

The problem is that there is no way to short the good suggestions out of the flood of bad threads.

EDIT: Oh the irony...

-No returning mass effect 2 squadies, or they have a cameo.-No Love interest meaning, need something meaningful
-Buggy version like ps3 aka save glitch and texture problems in overload, or dialog skipping.
-making it accessible for the average call of duty gamer.
-less rpg elements forced big choices.
-no citadel, omega, illium, aka big cities.
-sacrifice ending.

Garrus reduced to a cameo role would be a game-breaker for me.

There's not much else they could do that would upset me. As long as questions get answered, and I feel like my Shepard's story is concluded, then I will be a happy camper.

I didn't think DA2 was nearly as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be. I have played much, much worse games. Much worse. It was mediocre because we've come to expect stellar quality from BioWare, and DA2 was just a good game. Not a great game. It was also very clearly rushed.

Major players like Garrus being reduced to cameos.

This is what worries me the most, important characters like Garrus and Miranda having small role,or no role at all. That would absolutely kill ME3 for me.

Another thing is main story,of course.I want to be able to lose or win against the Reapers, depending on my actions, but if I win it has to be with many casulties and sacrifices because otherwise that big Reaper threat we've been hearing so much about since ME1 wouldn't be so big.

There are many other smaller concerns, but these two are by far the most important.

:pinched:Man,reading all the comments,so many of you are going to be disappointed.Mostly because of ridiculous expectations,or the illusion that Bioware ticks on the exact brain waves you do.Most of it is just not possble as it either contradicts past statements by Bioware, the design of ME,or the direction
the series seems to be going.Infact this is pretty much the only person so far, with ample chance for a satisfying conclusion.

*Multiplayer.

*Not including Liara as a permanent squadmate.

*Too short.

*Too little dialogue.

*To much shooting. Every single mission in ME2 included shooting everything that moved(except the one on a freighter ship that fell into a canyon). I was INTENSELY disappointed when playing Tali's loyalty mission. I began the mission thinking oh yeah, a trial, here there be juicy dialogue to be had. But nooo. 3 minutes in the tell me to go kill an armada of Geth! SERIOUSLY! Enough with the shooting EVERYTHING AND ALWAYS. I don't mind action oriented levels, but please FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, give us some shooter free levels too, or at least make the shooting level far between.
[/end of rant]

*Explaining the reapers motives. This would really ****** me off. I don't mind learning of their origins, but if the feel obligated to tell us why they kill everything every 50k years, I will loose my cool. Sovereign clearly stated that their motives are beyond our comprehension. That our biological capability to fathom the logic which the reapers follow is impossible. If Bioware pulls a: "we are humans and we are the bestest, bestest race in the whole wide galaxy and we will prove you wrong by understanding what you said we couldnt! HAHA, take that!", I will curse them. The main reason for why reapers are so frightening, beyond their technological superiority, is that they're unkowable. They're like the Cthulu, but in space!. If they do give an explanation, it must be an explanation so insanely good that even the wisest man will **** out the great wall of china upon hearing it, that every mere mortal's mind will simply cease to be upon learning the convoluted motives of the reapers.

*The end.*

EDIT: also, if, by the end of Mass Effect 3, I don't cry from joy or because of the sheer epicness of the ending and acompanying musical score. I will count it as a failure.

I challenge thee BioWare!

Edit.Oh and him too.....

As it stand ME3 will be pretty much,if we are LUCKY,ME2 with better(less linear)level design, slightly increased emphasis on the RPG,returning characters and or choices(in some way, shape or form),more vehicle sections(linear or open) and a more cohesive plot, moving at a faster pace and governed somewhat by the consequences of past decisions.
