So, anecdotal testimonies have said that DW warriors can do 100 damage per frontal non-crit hit. So am I missing something major/my calcuations are outta whack, or is this just a hyperbole?
I'm pretty sure that was just people raging when they were presented with facts that rogues actually can do that kind of damage.

I'm playing a DualWield Warrior and have a paralyze rune on my off-hand. Mainhand was always used for elemental damage. You say that those runes seem not to work..
I managed to paralyze Loghain and Gaxkang with my offhand - at least Loghain is a perfect example as there were no other parties involved in the battle - so those runes work in your offhand. I'm using two Longswords. Some Weaponeffects seem to apply for both weapons, at least if they are build in and not runes.
With Emperors Blade which gives +3% crit range and +2 damage - you get this for both weapons as the screen says.
I know that runes on one weapon stack (like several silverite +10 against darkspawn), but does this work with two weapons? Perhaps your error source has something to do with having the same runes on different weapons or to many runes ... dunno.

Hate to quote myself, but because of the way dual striking works, that's probably how people came up with the 100 damage hits, without realizing it's combining both into one, or whatever it is that dual striking does.

There are a couple of other annoying thing about Tainted Blood, though. First, it has an irritatingly long cast time during which you can't attack (2s or so?), which means I often don't bother to switch it on if there's only one or two enemies. Second, the damage it inflicts will take you out of stealth. Luckily it recharges pretty fast so it's usually no big deal to just turn it off before going on extended stealth trips and turn it back on when you're done sneaking.
After all your helpful msgs, my turn to try and help you:
You can negate almost completely the casting time. To do this, simply move your character a little bit (touch your keyboard's arrow of movement lightly) as soon as you see the activation message (in this case, as soon as "Tainted Blade" pops up over you character's head). This will cut the animation, but not the effect.
Now you got some insta-cast tainted blade

Yeah thats true, the game seems to apply buffs as soon as you click them, the cast time however is what takes time, but moving will cancel it, weird design really.

i have a question. does the +10%/+15% crit/backstabe damage from the offhand daggers stack with other crit/backstab damage bonuses? or is it independent?
Yes, it stacks.. just like having a +2 damage off hand dagger gives your main hand +2 damage too

I seem to remember a difference of ~10-15 per attack...and with two rogues laying it on its almost always applied to the target..

Dual Weapon Finnesse is still good for attack. Two points in that chain.

Yeah, but 10-15 doesn't mean anything. I want to know the mechanics of it. Is it a % damage bonus, like 10% more damage, what is it?

If I read the code right, it should increase all damage done to the target by 25%.

Thanks, this is a very useful tip. It seems that casting Tainted Blade still interrupts your attack cycle, but at least you're not pinned to the spot while casting. Good info.

what benefits do i get if i say, use the Crow Dagger Dragonbone (+15% crit/backstab damage) than TotDG Silverite (+3 damage, +3 AP)? how is one better than the other as offhand?
Since +crit damage caps out at 50%, and Rose's Thorn already gives 30%, you can only get an additional +20% from gear before you hit the cap.
You can get +crit damage from four slots:
* Chest (+15% from warden commander armor)
* Gloves (+15% from Red Jenny Seekers)
* Offhand (+15% from Crow dagger)
* Ring (the Warden's Oath preorder bonus for Steam users gives +10% crit damage. I don't include it in any of my setups because not everyone has the Steam version).
Because of the cap, you only need one or two of these +crit damage items, not all three. I tried several setups and it turns out that the ones listed in the OP, with Thorn of the Dead Gods in the offhand, have the highest DPS. If you use a Crow dagger you could replace Red Jenny Seekers with something else, but no pair of gloves adds enough DPS to make up for the loss of Thorn of the Dead Gods.

Also, when backstabbing, it appears that the mainhand runes trigger (or have a chance to trigger) on every attack, even when the offhand should be attacking. Offhand runes never trigger. I can only assume this is a bug.
It may well be that offhand runes don't trigger when backstabbing, but they do trigger during normal attacks.
Of course this might explain why the paralyze rune I had in my offhand dagger only seemed to trigger when I was forced to attack from the front
