Or anything other than the default robes?....Thx to Sunnie22's evolving mods (Love the work Sunnie!) I can at least enjoy the use of some of the better robes, but I would really love to see some improvement to the armor variants for Mages.

Sadly, apart from the Champ robes all the others are kinda meh IMO (Speaking Asthetics)... Hope there is a way to port some of the awsome looking robes people put together for DA:O. Until then, I humbly request more robes from anyone willing to take up the cause!

There is a one method version, Apostate Wardrobe on dragonagenexus. It changes robe model variations in the item_variations.gda. This means any random robe you pick up that used to refer to a mu-mu robe, now tries to use noble or rogue attire.

It has issues. Robes use different tints/materials that don't play nice with alternate models so you can get some funky looking gear. Also NPCs are rather dramatically effected.

I made a personal mod of just a few robes altered specifically (their UTI's just like Sunnie's mods) because those are the ones I tend to bother equipping. Its not tested or released though.

Because they're altered UTIs, I maintain/update them whenever Sunnie updates their evolving mods and the two conflict.

This will do, I think someone else said it best.... Hard to walk around Kirkwall in an outfit that screams "Mage here!"... Thank you for sharing..

If you prefer armor, you may also want to look into the No Stat Requirement mod on Nexus which opens all armor up to mages. This is what I did because sometimes the Apostate Wardrobe mod produces invisible NPCs (usually with elves). It's a little immersion-breaking for me, and I prefer the look of the rogue armor anyway.

Another option which I'm using this time around is just getting the Champion armor upon landing at Kirkwall. Everyone else gets an iconic outfit, so I am too. If you want, you can change the color of it upon changing acts (I'm planning on running with the brown-fur version until I hit Act 3, then I'll swap over to silverite which looks a bit more noble, befitting of the mage who slew the Arishok).

Either way, I'm with you that default robes are terrible and walking around in them always made me feel like I was advertising what I was. At least carrying the staff might be explained as a walking aid ("You wouldn't make a Blight refugee part from his walking stick, now would you?"), but the robes are a dead giveaway.

Thank you Highcastle, I noticed what you were talking about with the invisible characters.  I hadn't tried the "No Stat" mod, if you happen to have a link I'd appreciate it.

As for the Champion armor in Act 1, I wanted to finish one more play-through before modding to much of the game.  But as of right now, that play through is finished so....Off to mod I go! :wizard:

Thanks again, I'll check back for the link.
