ME3 squad mates

Thane hopefully won't croak yet from suffocation watching him was like watching Jason Bourne. Tali may or may not become an admiral, she should still be recruitable regardless, especially if we have a romance interest with her she had a thing for shep since ME1, it would be out of character for her to just dump him for admiralty, plus everyone likes her a lot. Jack hopefully won't go postal and kill everyone from her mental instability. Grunt still has plenty of people to kill and his jokes about it. Garrus is best buds with Shepard and needs to keep doing calibrations. Zaeed and Kasumi wouldn't have anything else to do and they add some great benefits. Samara is a biotic god she should stick around, or Morinth. Who could possibly go without the singing Mordin? Jacob and Mirand should still be in it they're trying to save humanity. Legion is awesome and he has a huge interest in it, the Reapers can't be too pleased with him.
What do you guys think?

HOWEVER, because of the Mass Effect team's devotion to quality and the fans, as well as for continuity purposes (and the fact that deaths in the SM were rather low, anyway), I think we'll be seeing a few familiar faces here and there.
Browse the forums a bit--this has been discussed to death.

That being said, I don't really want any new squadmates in ME3. If we must have them, just one or two. While I was one of the people arguing for a new squad after ME, I'm reversing my position now. It isn't that I like the ME2 character better than the original. In the first game, I got really sucked into the story. As much as I liked the characters, it just didn't make sense for most of them to return. Liara was an archeologist in protective custody. She should go back to her work. Wrex was in it for the excitement. When everything was over, he'd go back to being a merc. Tali was on her Pilgrimage. After stopping Saren, she should complete it. Garrus wanted to be a Spectre. I thought he'd do it. I just couldn't see them sticking around given their characters.
With ME2, we spent the entire game building our squad. If we have to waste time doing it in ME3, it will probably suck a great deal of the enjoyment out of the game for me. We're probably going to be gathering allies to fight the Reapers. If we have to retread the recruiting of squadmates too, I think the fighting the Reapers will get shortchanged.

What I would also like to see change is maybe making them more distinct. So many times I found myself choosing squadmates where my reasoning was "I like them..I don't really need them though." If they had maybe one more distinct ability it would be awesome. Grunt, Garrus and Zaeed are so incredibly similar. Maybe include a gun? When someone has an assault rifle and a submachine gun I never understood why switch to a submachine gun when an assault rifle is just as effective.
But really though..please please please bring back the mass effect 2 characters. They are so well thought out and there is emotional attachment with some of them.

Or it will pick up a while in. Acually I think they will throw us right into the action more likely with the reapers already invading or just about to start.
So I have a hard time seeing why your current crew would leave you.
Thane will most likely see it all through till the end.
Samara said she would fight injustice, hard time seeing her up and leave now.
Grunt would be stupid to leave seeing as this must be like christmas for him.
Garrus will stay no doubt, he's like the Watson to Shepard.
Miranda and Jacob will stay seeing as how they are humans too.
Mordin seems to get a constant erection out of all the collector stuff, I say he stays.
Legion is great, I hope he decides to stay.
Tali, is brilliant, she better stay.
Jack can go die for all I care.
Kasumi was boring as hell, she can go die aswell.
Zaeed however, I hope he get's some deeper story here.
So unless something happends on the way, I guess we get to keep everyone.

One important factor that a lot of people are overlooking when it comes to Wrex becoming a squadmate again(besides story), is that Wreav would also have to be made into one for those who killed off Wrex in ME1. That may or may not factor into Bioware's decision.
And Wrex is a leader of his people. He has no time to run around galaxy with Shepard anyway. If we get Grogan army to help us, all we get is to chat with him time to time.

Just kidding, I hope Bioware solves this without removing them from ME3. Shepard spent a whole game recruiting those squad members, so they should be there at the end.

No, your wrong. Thane tells you that he has only 9-12 months to live.

Step 2: Say that players who lost their squad in ME2 will have a hard time in ME3
Step 3: Cameo them all

Maybe he will get the krogan to all join in the fight? That way he could be an example for his people by joining shepard and leading them to war

I'd rather see Liara, VS, and Wrex all as NPCs that you regularly chat with and discuss what is going on in the battle against the reapers, like maybe have the Shadow Broker's ship be the hub base for them to come together and focus on fighting the battle. Not only would that give us interaction with them but it would make them feel like important parts of the story rather than just Shepard's squadmates.

This is actually a pretty good idea, but wouldn't work for everyone. Some people make good allies (information brokers, warlords), while others make good in-field specialists (assassins, soldiers).Bamboozalist wrote...

I'd love to see a little bit of both. Just... let's not sideline all seventeen possible squadmates to small and pitiful cameos, okay?

Why stop at just Liara, VS, and Wrex? why not make the killables get the same treatment? After all, they aren't in every save while Liara and VS are yet you would punish Liara/VS fans and reward the killables Fans?

I was unaware making Liara, the VS, and Wrex actually important to the story and regularly appearing through the game punished their fans...
oh wait "Elite Midget" I forgot logic no longer applies.

ME1 squad - Story important, regularly appears through out the game, tons of interaction
ME2 squad - Your Squad.

Oh wait, it's Bamboo! Of course I should have expected such a weak response.
It's simple. You want Liara/VS, despite their Plot Armor, to stay out of the Squad while you're all for bringing back the killables instead of doing the same thing for them. Which I add has 0 merit when you factor in that Liara/VS has plot armor and the killables don't.
So why the double standard, Bamboo? Do you enjoy demanding the return of the killables, instead of making them important NPCs, while demanding that Liara/VS get regulated to NPC status with no Squaddie return chance despite their plot armor?
Than again, you were always the type that only thought about what 'you' want and not what would be something 'everyone' would be able to accept. Which is fair treatment for all Squaddies not biased treatment for your favorites.
