Dragon Age 2, bioware's last game, took place almost entirely within one city, kirkwall. Many people saw this design choice as one that, while it worked for the story, was one that was designed to acommadate DA2's decidedly short development length. Rather than churn out another piece of a continent of equal size and variety to the first Dragon Age, they simply placed 90% of the story in one (rather large, but still a bit reppetitive from an artistic standpoint) city.
I'm not trying to criticize DA2. It's a great game, and the focused approach worked well for the story it was trying to tell, but I think we can all agree that this is not something that anybody really wants from our favorite space-faring (emphasis on the space-faring) Action-RPG series.
Now, before you berate me in the reply's, I realize that the Dragon Age team is not the Bioware team. However, both teams actions do have a tendency to parallel eachother.
Sure, the teaser for ME3 may have been simply to surprise us with the fact that Earth is in the game, but is it really all that hard to imagine Bioware having the majority of the game take place fighting on earth? It certainly seems a more manageble task to create one large planet of content rather than another galaxy of smaller ones in a little under 2 years.
I'm not saying it's going to happen, In fact I fully expect (and hope) to be proven wrong once more info on the game is released, I just wanted to voice my concern, cause I freakin love these games.
(please don't hate me, bioware)
