1.0 classes...
There are three main class archetypes in Dragon Age Origins. They are: "The Warrior, Rogue, and Mage."
I personally am a fan of the Mage class because it has so many possibilities to choose from and is only limited to its capabilities and your imagination.
I also find it the class with the most.... broad class enrollment that it can play...
However, for those who do not like magic and its long proccessing of time to get a good mage tank or mage dps'r your best bet is the simplicity of DAO.
I am a big fan of WoW(World of Warcraft) I use to play it kinda alot of the time till DAO came out. And it struck me with all of its' glory that with all the spells, talents, and skills...
I could make classes that were like the one's in WoW. So I put my brain, pen, and paper to use...
And came up with this indexes for WoW Archetypes in DAO.
Warriors and Rogues use a Stamina bar(aka energy/focus--whatever your prefernce is...for me its just power lolz) to use talents.
Mages use Mana bars(aka Magicka or Magic Power--again whatever your preference is...)
People will be thinking I am crazy; but, again if your not a fan of WoW I would just leave this thread I like to add on simplicity...

1.1 Archetypes...
Warriors-> Warrior and Paladin.
Rogues-> Rogue and Hunter.
Magi-> Mage, Warlock, Priest, Druid, Shaman, and Death Knight.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.2 Archetype Reasons...
Again like I said I am a big fan of WoW. Use to run a lvl guild and was part of a lvl 23 guild. The most thing that I like about WoW was Roles...
Knowing what an archetype can do and can't do is great because it gives you a sense of belonging whether your a Tank, DPS, or Healer.
This can also give you an explanation on what you want to get for to fill in for those roles as well... My reasons were... kinda breif.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.0 Warrior classes/Archetypes...
Why a Warriors and Paladins make an excellent role for the Warrior Archeytype System you may be asking.... Well a good Warrior is made up with
the Berserker and Reaver classifications giving the player an immense control over anti stuns buffs and an increase in damage to increase hostility.
Making the computers attack you and not your teammates. A good paladin is made up with Champion and Templar classifications giving the player control
over offensive magi and the abilities to raise the morale of your troops to increase damage as well to lowering the oppositions overall capabilities.
Raising your hostility very high as well.
~Skillset Startups~
I.Warrior Base:
Poweful(increases damage) and Precise Striking(decreases weapon attack speed but increases the max critical chance).
II.Two Handed Weapons:
-Pommel Strike(you attack with the pommel giving a chance to knock the enemy down)
-Sunder Arms(attacks the enemies weapon decreasing their chance to attack with)
-Mighty Blow(a high damage attack with high crit.)
III.Dual Weapon:
-Duap Weapon Training(Offhand weapon tends to hit more at it's normal damage)
-Dual Striking(you attack with both weapons simultaneously; but, decreasing the chance for crits.)
-Dual Weapon-Sweep(a sweep attack in which you may attack with one or both weapons to deal a significant amount of damage and increasing chance for a crit.)
IV.Sword and Shield:
-Shield Bash(Knocks the enemy right in the face knocking them down and stunning them)
-Shield Defense(A Defensive Stance which increases defense; but, decrease attack overall a bit... This also has a chance to deflect missles)
-Shield Block(Can't be Flanked on the Shield Wielding Side)
V.Archery:
-Melee Archer(you can fire your bow off without interruption)
-Pinning Shot(an attack with the chance to disable your enemy)
-Rapid Shot(an sustainable action which increases your rate of fire; but, decreases your chance for crits.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.1 Warrior
Arms->Two Handed Weapons(DPS)
Fury-> Dual Wield Weapons(DPS)
Protection-> Sword and Shield(Tank)
In DAO... not Awakening or DAII. All Warriors start off with Shield Bash(by default). The Sword and Shield is necessary for Tanking until you gain some pretty high-end
gear; but, until then The Shield is a necessity for tanking.
I paired up The Warrior with Berserker and Reaver Specializations. Why you may ask and not just with Champion and Berserker or Champion and Reaver.... Well it's
not exactly a Warriors--Archetype with Champion(more like a Paladin's--or so in my belief). Well Berserkers can go hand in hand for however you play
increases your damage for one which also increases that hostility. Reavers Control the basic Lifeforce gaining an opportunistic chance to make
all and I mean all suffer from your suffering this can come in use because if you are tanking you take damage by the effect causes everything to
take spiteful damage as well this decrease your enemies health regeneration and you heal from their deaths partially. With a great healer you can
never go wrong with Berserker and Reaver engaged.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.2 Paladin
Retribution->Two Handed Weapons(DPS)
***Holy->Archery(Ranged DPS)
Protection->Sword and Shield(Tank)
***Was a highly debatable function... MAKING a Paladin in this case a Warrior Archetype did not bestow many spells-hardly anyspells to be honest...
only talents in this case... it was difficult yes you can make a Paladin in the Mage Archetype section; but, it's the most difficult to get your hostility
up in this case the only real chance to get plate without a highly investing amount of time and leveling... in Strength is better off left in Magic and
getting the Arcane Warrior Specialization. I play as a Holy Paladin and I just cast Exorcism, Divine Favor, Hammer of Wraith, Consecration, and some
Pally spell temp buffs and it worked fine outcasting casters hahah ohhh good times...
I paired up a Paladin with Champion and Templar Specializations, because a good Paladin Tank should be able to decrease an enemies damage and weapon speed and be able
to raise your parties morale whenever the tide is turned on you to gain a high amount of momentum. Templar because you never know when you may need to drain some
mana from enemy magi whatever the case is. Having the Templar Specialization gains more Willpower. This is a must need for any tank because you can have
more active abilities going on at once and still use more talents in combat to gain the upperhand and, of course your high-end agro.
