I was just wondering how old everyone thinks that Alistair is. I guessed around 23/24 maybe, discuss! :)

Toolset says 32, but supposedly it's a holdover from when his initial concept was some gruff veteran-like sort.

He's probably in his early twenties, at the most.

He seems pretty young to me. Early to mid-twenties, maybe.

I guess all the LI's are about 25 at the time of origins.

Leliana tells Wynne that she's older than she looks. I also recall someone saying that the toolset says that she's in her early thirties.

Alistair is definitely in his early twenties. He is a new Grey Warden and was new among templars. He has little to say about any past adventures, and he has had minimal female contact.

And as someone mentioned, Leliana is most likely around 30. After all, she appears to have had a long career in Orlais, and then some years hiding in Ferelden.

I guess Leliana could be 32 years old already. She had so many experiences on so many things........And her battle skills are just so perfect that I think it usually takes someone for years to reach that level.
And Alistair....I don't know.....I think he's 21 or 22. If Leliana pretended to be naive, then Alistair is truly naive. And honesly, I think he's the only party member that I consider to be truly pure.

The toolset says Leliana is 26 and Alistair and Morrigan are 30.....

And I always thought that conversation was indicating that many of the characters considered her to be the youngest of the group.

Also she says she was born some time after the orleasian occupation. Which makes her younger than 30.

Jesus....so Leliana was only around 20 in the DLC Leliana's Song? That's incredible!!! It only makes me to admire her more.

I can't remember the convo exactly. But in LS Marjolaine seems to indicate the Leliana was somewhat of an apprentice at the time.

From logical view I'd also say 23-25. Partly I find it so wierd since I'm 23 years and somehow his pixels seem to look so much older. But then I look really young for my age too...

He is 20-21 yrs in my canon head, which makes it logical because it fits to the timeline of the happenings in "The Calling" ;)

I find it most pleasing to think of him as between his mid-twenties and the toolset age, both from a story and visual perspective. Well, his toolset age, really , but I move him down to about 26 when he's recruited, 27 by the Landsmeet, to bring him a little closer to the early twenties that he's apparently supposed to be. I just can't think of him as 20 or 21 regardless of the books.

Before I ever read the books, the overall impression Alistair gave me both viually, audibly and personality-wise was around early thirties with little experience in the world outside of the templars/circle. When I saw the age in the toolset, I felt my thoughts were justified, and it was cool. When I later read the books, I found it hard to transfer the previou image to the change to early 20s no matter what. Obviously the plan for 32 and the book timeline were inconsistent and only changed later in production to fit, which was called a mistake...but all in all, the way he was designed for DA:O with regards to production in my opinion was 32.

I agree, he looks and talks like 32. :)
Though the "real" age could be about (20 -) 23, considering Cailan is (according to the Toolset) 25 and Goldana 30.

Since the character was rewritten after negative focus group feedback to make him younger, with little else being changed--and the books written after, supporting that change, but with timeline issues of their own, I think it's valid to take his age as being whatever in that range one finds to work the best for oneself. He looks and sounds thirtyish, but we're told that's not the case. I find it easier to go with how he looks and sounds, while others may find that they can't ignore the book timelines. Both work for individual gameplay. I do think 56 is outside the range, though, Beerfish. ;) Personally, I take all the ages with a massive grain of salt, given that Eamon is supposed to be 45. That really stretches credibility.

Perhaps it's because I'm older but I tend to peg Alistair's age in DA:O as being from early to mid twenties. Making him late twenties would mean he spent more than half his life in the Chantry and I really don't find him as indoctrinated and sheltered as that would imply.

In my estimation Alistair was born in 9:11. The toolset is wrong every which way. Example, the ages for Bryce and Eleanor make them too young to have Fergus.

Hmm I would have to agree with most by saying mid-twenties would make sense. If he was shipped of to the Chantry at age 10 and Connor was born a couple or few years after that, it would peg his age about right. Considering the time it took for templar training and to be picked up by Duncan. Not to mention his very limited, almost non-existant experience with women.

I can see Alistair as 30 year old. It seems to be the most correct. He looks like he is the same as Cailan.
