its often meant as compliment .... and I hate this, especially since I work in the IT (for a long time now).

Just basically friend of mine would do that at times.

Oh yes getting spit on or having a drink dumped on me, or well anything that would make me vengful are good one too.

Laughing with you, not at you...I had a very close friend who was a Lesbian and used to say the exact same thing and I was immediately back in the late '80s for a moment.
