I don't know what the hell is going on but still even after having played several times I got EVERY variety of ingredient and still no achievement, I have worked my ass off trying to get 100% in this game and yet still 1 achievement will not for the life of me unlock.

I have made tons of save points, and have tried this combo:

Firstly do Merrills quest to help her fix the mirror so I do that and pick up fellandris or however you spell it, then go to black emporium and buy all the missing stuff.
I then immediatly do Isabella's quest, I pick up the Ambrosia and nothing happens.

So I check what im missing and its nothing i have at least 1 of every type of ingredient.

So then I load up my save, do Isabella's quest first then immediatly do Merrill's quest and again nothing happens this time without buying anything i am missing, I go check what i have and i have each type, ive even tried picking up an ingredient in the game world and still nothing.

Is this achievement not supposed to unlock because I am getting seriously cheesed off!

You don't need one of every ingredient. You need *every* ingredient.

9 deathroots? You need to get all 9.

Guide.

No that is wrong I think you are yet again FAILING TO READ, the achievement clearly says:

'Find every variety of crafting resources' in bold variety, it does not say find ALL resources then I would understand, you must find all varieties meaning at least 1 of each.

I have found every VARIETY of crafting resource and it will still not unlock.

The description of the achievement is wrong. It says get every "variety", but in reality you have to get every single instance of every ingredient in the entire game. It is right up there with the "Mile High Club" for being one of the stupidest and most aggravating achievements of all-time. It's almost as if Bioware has intentionally tried to anger xbox players as much as they possibly could.

Also, supposedly the Black Emporium DLC glitches the achievement, so don't use it or else it won't work.

Luke just posted a clarification on what you need to do to get this achievement. link

So I did a little investigative research here at the studio to get some info on this trophy. To dispel any speculation you need >=66 Ingredients to get this trophy. As has been stated, the Black Emporium ones count towards this total - my guess is that for some of you, one or more just didn't register properly. My suggestion is to go to Black Emporium, save, and then buy out every ingredient until the trophy fires (if you should have it) and then reload the save.

Hope that helps.

So I am right and not losing my mind, but Bioware have messed up the achievement so you have to find ALL resources and literally find ALL. Sorry but I have followed the achievement's description and I think Bioware should honour that and fix it via patch so I can have what is owed to me.

Having spent over 150hrs on the game and following all the requirements to unlock the achievements for Bioware to screw me and others over like this is out of order.

Bioware what is your response to this if any?

It only glitches if you buy a ressource from it.  NEVER buy a ressource if you want the achievement.

Well then the achievement details are wrong, I have followed what has been asked of me and it should unlock, Bioware should follow what their own achievement says not to have get ALL resources.

I'm sorry but this is totally out of order.

I think Bioware has bigger bugs to worry about when compared to appeasing achievement ****s. There are game breaking issues, and honestly, this "problem" doesn't come close to any of them. While the achievements in this game were pretty silly compared to DA:O, it wouldn't be all that hard to get one of every type of ingredient, so why don't challenge yourself a little bit, and try to find them all. The only thing out of order here is how big of a deal you're making out of the wording on an achievement's description.

Well, if you're willing to risk it and use his suggestions go ahead.  I didn't want to take any chances so I found every resource and never used the volatile DLC ones.

Got all but, I think, one spindleweed on my first run, couldn't find the last one but BE had one for sale, loaded the post game save, went and bought it and achievement unlocked. If it's really frustrating you so much, load a post save and sell whatever you have to in order to get the remaining resources from the BE. Haven't been able to confirm, but I think it stocks all the resources you have yet to get when you hit Act 3.

Maybe instead of YELLING AT ME FOR NOT HELPING, you DO WHAT I SUGGESTED IN YOUR LAST THREAD and READ THE F**KING GUIDE?

But I guess it's much easier to start another thread about Achievement Will Not unlock!!!!!!!!1111oneone when it is to figure out how to actually get the achievement.

Im choosing to ingore her as she is incompetent and childish in her responses, this is a forum for those that are gamers its a games forum, a forum for Bioware games. And all I am seeing lately are people that are either two faced or oblivious to the fact that you are supposed to come on here to talk about well games.

Well I have found more ingredients and I apparently have 7/6 spindleweed go figure that one out *sigh*

I am only missing about 1 ingredient from around 4types i think but something tells me this achievement aint gonna unlock at all *sigh*

And instead of people being haters and trolls to just attack those that have clear game related issues of ANY kind be it achievements which IS game related how about some contructive input instead of slander?

You nailed it.  This is an achievement that will never unlock because it is seriously cheesing you off.

They should change the achievement text to mirror what it reads in the strategy guide ("Find all possible crafting ingredients during your travels.")  The ingredients in the Black Emporium should not count towards the achievement, but neither should they hinder the achievement (the ingredient display should perhaps be changed to differentiate found ingredients from purchased ingredients).

What they shouldn't do is hand you the achievement on a silver platter because they messed up the description causing you to be led astray.  I mean, it sucks, yes, but since achievements are apparently some sort of commodity on your platform then you need to do the same work to earn it as someone who made themselves better informed.

No, I think he has a right to be pissed.

Just because you don't care for getting achievements doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with those who do care about getting them. In many games I have found that the achievements induce the player to try things within the game that they never would have tried to do otherwise. I've seen this time and again, and the fact is that the player attempting to achieve unusual objectives can result in rewarding experiences. For some it might be simply a numbers game ("achievement whoring"), but to assume that this applies to everyone is incredibly ignorant. The bottom line is that if you don't care about achievements, then just be an adult and refrain from commenting.

Regardless, the description of the achievement is indeed wrong, and Bioware should at least acknowledge the error, even if they are too busy with all of their other problems to actually fix it. It has caused a lot of grief, all because of a simple error of wording.

Also, I don't know if this is mentioned on any of the links, but the totals listed are not correct either. There is one more of one of the ingredients, and one less of one of the other ingredients. I forget which ones they are, but the idea is that by the end, one of them will read 8/9 and another 6/5, or something like that.

I unlocked the achievement on my third playthrough. The totals are:
- Elfroot: 9/9
- Spindleweed 7/6 (one bought at the Emporium in Act 2 which did not screw up the achievement)
- Embrium: 6/6
- Ambrosia: 1/1
- Deep Mushroom: 9/9
- Deathroot: 6/6
- Glitterdust: 6/6
- Felandaris 1/1
Edit - sorry, forgot the runes:
- Lyrium: 9/9
- Silverite: 6/6
- Orichalcum: 6/6
- Dragon's Blood: 1/1

I used http://dragonage.wik..._(Dragon_Age_II) as a guide, then rearranged the info by location so I wouldn't leave a location without the ingredient. Painstaking, but do-able. When I checked the Emporium in Act 2 and saw a Spindleweed for sale in there, I thought the wiki was wrong and that I'd missed a spindleweed in Act 1 - and that I had blown my chance at getting the achievement. But I continued to gather and the achievement eventually popped up. Can't remember whether I did Merrill or Isabela's quest last. I think it was Merrill's.
Hope this helps on your next playthrough.

I don't know what your malfunction is. I don't care what the teaser description says on Xbox.com, the reqs for the achievement are to find all of the resources. There is no other way around this, do it or don't. The achievement unlocks once you've maxed out your ingredients, as that is the requirement for the achievement.

Don't assume that I don't care for achievements, I actually am something of an achievement **** myself. This particular achievement is one that is actually kind of difficult without a guide, and one that is not just handed to you as you play through the game (like so many other DA2 achievements). Since he clearly wants to have this achievement handed to him for finding one of every crafting resource, I can safely assume that he is only interested in having all the achievements, and not because it's personally rewarding.

He said he has played through multiple times, and that's the exact same thing that many others have said too. I did the exact same thing as well. I didn't expect to just be handed an achievement... I meticulously gathered every variety of ingredient - exactly as the achievement says to do - only to be sorely disappointed when I found out that my effort was in vain. What's so hard to understand about that? To add insult to injury, it was not because of player error; it was because the achievement is obviously worded improperly. If the objective is to collect every single available crafting resource/ingredient, then it should say so. There is no way you can defend that, and no reason to scold the guy when he clearly deserves to have his achievement.

Thank you.

Yes if the achievement clearly said 'Find all resources' then yes I wouldn't have posted on here, again it does not say by buying the missing ones you will not get the achievement either.

So what I have done at present is buy the ones I am missing and now trying to track down ones I am missing so far its only 1 orchilarum? and 1 glitterdust.

So I am assuming by finding those last 2 I *might* still get this achievement.

With exiled prince there was an issue but heres the thing what about all those people out there that are not on the forum and dont know that they have to re-download exiled prince??

I've come on here because its a way of showing Bioware that there are very dedicated players despite the fact of the games many issues and all I want is something that should have unlocked given the description of the achievement.

I am not asking to be just handed the achievement but anyone who reads the description would instantly feel that they are owed it which in a way I do because I have followed the said instructions.

I am the Kirkwall Champion so I guess its Act 3? I.e. Year 3? I guess I am gonna have to try and see where abouts the last glitter dust and orchilarum are.

As I said before. You could probably buy them from the emporium and get the achievement. I bought my last missing resource there and got the achievement.

I'm not sure, due to a crap memory, if all of the resources have the same name, and therefore count as the 'same' resource. Lyrium springs to mind where you have raw, corrupted and I believe one more variety of it. They all count against Lyrium, but obviously have different titles.

I played on the PS3 and Supplier came up for me after buying a spindleweed from BE but before I got Dragons Blood, so it would appear to be simply a numerical trigger for it to appear.
