Hi, building up my first ever S&S warrior, which i would like to be reasonably balanced in defence & attack, although airing on the side of being able to do more damage than defence. I've been pumping points into Strength, Cunning & Constitution equaly thus far. So for my idea, i am guessing i will need to put more into strength at some stage, so for what i require what do you think, please ,  i should be looking to cap out Cunning & Constitution at, then concentrate mainly on Strength  ?

The character is at level 5 or 6 atm i think, with like S:16  Cun:15 Const:15 , off the top of my head. Thank you & apologies if you've heard this 100 times before. Any links welcome too Image IPB

Warriors are not defense tanks. The point of being able to equip heavy armors is so you can mitigate the damage, not avoid it. Besides, if you go for defense tanking, you'll at best be decent at tanking normals and critters. LTs and Bosses will almost always hit you because of how attack works.

Alternating STR/CON is still the best and only way to go imo.

Thanks for the reply, I thought Cunning would help with S&S build, and just STR/CON alone would be better for a 2h Warrior. so you dont think i should put anythingelse in Cunning then, to help defense ?

Personally I won't put any, normal enemy can't touch S&B, so you only need to worry about boss and elite, to have a defense high enough to have any meaning against them you need to invest a ton of cunning, which only rogues would. If a warrior do that than you will have low Con & Str.

Also potion & heals are % base so high Con is the better choice. You want armor & damage resistance instead of defense.

Only Duelist rogue (maybe Shadow too) can cap max defense against boss. I have one but let's say I still don't want him to get hit at all. Everyone please beating on the high Con, high armor, damage resistance Aveline.

Excellent, you both backup each others advice well, thank you so far.

Finally, from this, with 3 points to spend, should i go 2:1 in favour of Strength, or Constituion or alternate per level, 2:1 ?

I focused almost entirely on strength and just got enough constitution to wear armor and not die too fast. 31 is the minimum you'll need to wear champion armor and that's where I stopped putting points in constitution.

Cool, thanks for all the help Image IPB

I will forget Cunning & go 2:1  STR:CON  for the time being then, and see how that goes for a while.

Just get enough STR for the best weapon and everything else in CON.

2:1 Strength & Con, but I will build my dexterity around 20-25 (to get higher crit chance) + weapons/armors/runes that give bonus to crit damage/chance.

My S&S warrior is an offensive tank. My main abilities are sustained 'Bravery' full upgrade (which I believe it will give you +crit chance per enemy that surround you),'Might' 'Cleave' and 'Sacrificial Frenzy'.

activate 'Cleave' + 'Sacrificial Frenzy' + your critical damage = massive destruction

at one point my Hawke was able to produce a 'Scatter' attack that have 3000+ damage output (with all the active abilities that I have mention turn on)

Level 14 now, with like 34 STR & 24 CON. I havent pumped anything into DEX, but i can beat pretty much any mob with my team, with the exception of bosses atm. I am using Cleave + Assault on the enemies with large health bars, and it has been pretty effective.

I'm looking to uipgrade my S&S abilites like shield bash, scatter, assault atm. I have Vanguard full apart from upgrades, and picked Bezerker plus Templar as specialties.

I will look into putting points into DEX or Amulets/Rings with them.

Thankyou for the ideas.

Grab those Assault and scatter + upgrades asap. I would argue that templar isn't so great for warrior. Instead, I would go Reaver talent before berserker. Just 1 in each talent with no upgrades.
