I use XP Home And I was having this issue as well and for me it seems to be linked to the Force Stereo Check box as said, but I also have to play it in windowed mode. Full screen for me I get very buggy audio.
Seems to play Flawless in max res widowed mode ?????? That sucks because now my quick clicks are below the bottom of the screen and hard to click sometimes in the heat of battle.
Haven't installed the main game yet as I am under the assumption that the demo files may conflict with the main game... ( Thats my story and I'm sticking to it ) LOL
Disappointed that I can only have Medium settings as max in XP but it is the demo maybe it is different in the main game.
And maybe they fixed the sounds issues in the main as well.... One can only hope. For now atleast things seem to be working now.
