With RoFs in Varric, Lion of Orlais, Mystic Vestments/Robes of the Notorious Pirate, and String of Pearls for the entirety of Act 1 and 2, I only had enough money to buy Ring of the Ferryman(~110g) and Fallen Star(~50g).
I almost had enough money to buy the Robes of Cleanliness. I probably would've had enough if I was greedier during some quests, or if I didn't spend over 50g on companion armor slots and gifts. I also spent a bunch of money on other items - runes, minor gear(Regret, Staff of Primal Order, Dull Brass Amulet, etc), poisons/potions, and attribute/ability boosts.
All in all, I think I earned ~400 gold throughout the course of the game.

That's a very valuable post, I'm sure SB will update his money guide with it. I know I made a grand total of 140 g in Act I, but take into account my Act I run was quite optimized. Akodin made 133 g during Act I on his pioneer RoF party run: I guess he probably missed a few opportunities/chests/whatever.

Instead making a new topic I decided to bump yours and ask this, So what I have read (Warning noobish question coming up), 13% elemental (fire for example) damage will not give damage to any weapon that's physical ? But only to Jackals long bow for example?

for a 2H which would be the best elemental weapon assuming best equips: blood, sundering or celebrant for nightmare?

It hugely depends on your playstyle and priorities. I'm partial to Celebrant spirit setup Templar/Reaver, but Bloom can be a great option, too (the build will have to be quite different, of course). I cannot imagine a Sundering build, but maybe that's only me :)

well solo w/ mabari (no party members except on companion quests) on hard/nightmare at level 50. W/ 2H's I usually like to charge for the elite via scythe then when the grunts surround me I go whirlwind/mighty blow. I don't use bravery since I already stack might/control. I'm partial to reaver due to devour as a useful healing option since I'm soloing and can't redirect threat like a rogue. I usually pick templar (though I respec to berserker sometimes if i want to have fun in a fight that has no mages )as well for the magic resistance to survive saarebas suddenly spawning on me or something. I don't like switching weapons on the fly and I don't like pausing alot (a big reason why I don't usually use berserker) Does that help? Why are you partial to celebrant? Cold has a higher +elemental dmg bonus on the weapon while sundering benefits more from ring of the ferryman. I guess w/ a sundering build you just stack up +electricity dmg gear.

I suggest using both Bloom and Celebrant. Sometimes switching weapons is just necessary, and there's nothing in the game that's immune to both of them. As a general rule, use Celebrant in Kirkwall (switch to Bloom for blood mages), and use Bloom outside of Kirkwall. There are only a couple of fights where you'll have to switch weapons mid-battle.

Bloom probably deserves the Primal Lyrium Rune, since it is more useful for the more difficult battles in the game, but it's up to you.

Ok so on nightmare a minimum of 2 elemental weapons then. How about on hard? Basically you're saying I'll be using bloom more than celebrant? I've gone through the game just using randomized physical weapons so what i'm looking for now is fun (trying out elementals on a non-archer/mage) and efficiency (max dps).

can u post a vid of the arishok fight? I have desdemona and +20% nature damage but I get numbers of 150 - 350 and most of the time 10-25. Else the time you can hit him is very short.

Sorry, in no mood right now. However, I can give some pretty detailed theoretical advice: (1) Stack as much +crit chance as possible. (2) Why only +20% nature dmg? You can have Poisonwood (+12%) and generic gear for +15%. Reaver is +5%. You also have unique boots ang gloves for +8%. That's +40%. Reserve the rest of the slots for +crit chance. (3) Stock on Combustion Grenades. (4) Respec, so you have upgraded Pommel Strike. In fact, any stun talent is a godsend here. As long as you can stun the bastard consistently, the battle shouldn't be too hard or long. (5) Take advantage of his rush attack recovery. He's completely helpless for 4s after the rush.

ah read your answer too late but thanks. I had desdemona with poison and +%crit runes, boots and gloves for 8%, belt for 5% and trinket for 8%. Okay forgot the reaver psec. Thats 5% more.
What is poisonwood? Have to look it up.

Anyway I did it ;) but the successful fight took me about half an hour or maybe more. And there were two unsuccessful attempts before. So I did nothing then Arishok on yesterdays eve ;)

btw the pre Arishok fight was a joke with this setup (but with group, not solo). I really appreciate your Ideas about elemental builds very much.

Poisonwood Locket is a unique amulet you can buy at Bonny Lem's in Act II. Well, you have to switch to Sataareth in Act III, anyway, so it's a bit too late :)

maybe a noobish question, but does the elemental damg aura from mages (lets say we use anders as buffer) boost the nater/fire damg output?

Heroic aura boost all kinds of damage.
