For me it was the High Dragon at the Bone Pit mine. It always takes me several tries and sometimes new party members to finally defeat that one. Where as I made it through the final battle in one shot.

On nightmare? The very first lothering section, where you only have little space available and literally no useful spells. Only gets easier from there.

Dueling the Arishok with a warrior - in the end I gave up and just used the whole party.
Brekker, because of all the rogues.
Damn wasp spiders in Merrill's act 2 quest.

The high dragon and the Ancient Rock Wraith were tough, but I've got the trick to them now. The high dragon is still pretty tough actually, but I take enough potions to make it not very difficult.

It was one of the demon battles for me - don't remember whether it was the final dungeon in the "evil tomes" questline, or the cave near the Dalish camp where you have the Nexus Golem's store. I THINK it was the former - it was a fight were you had several rage demons popping up in quick succession, a horde of shades and some other demons.

The High Dragon fight was very tough too - though I found it much easier on my second playtrough playing a dual wielding rogue assassin. INSANE damage dealing potential.

The Arishok fight was pretty tough the first time I tried it, but subsequently, using better tactics, it's not that difficult.

A good idea is to move your entire party to the right side corner of the level where you are when the battle begins - so that the enemy will have to run down the stairs to reach you. Get them nice and bunched up that way, and some will stay behind on the top platform.

Then target the Sarebaas first. It's also helpful if you've made sure that your party has high electricity resistance prior to the battle.

No doubt, it's the Rock Wraith. It was so difficult for me I wanted to raise the game to normal difficulty. I made it, but only consuming something like 20 pots. Problem is: my party was not suited to win the fight. You need a healer, period.

The High Dragon is difficult but I made it on my second try. And then do it again because I was not happy with massive potion consumption (only because I made the error to send Isabella constantly against him, while the DW rogue against bosses has to to use hit and run tactics). It's not difficult at all if you equip your whole party with fire protection runes and take the right position when the zergs attack :).

I duelled the Arishock with my mage and using gravity ring, cold spells and horror, I was able to beat him without many problems even if I have to run a lot (off course) and it does not feel epic at all :D.

The High Dragon is just such a marathon of a fight. And if you get sloppy, you're done. Tactics came in very handy in this case. The Ancient Rock Wraith was tough until I figured out you could hide everyone behind the pillars when he was doing his lightning discharge routine.

High Dragon is annoying because of its length. but i think i chugged the most health potions in the Arishok duel, also that duel was drawn out and annoying as hell plus i think the length and kiting involved with the duel took away from what was otherwise one of the coolest parts of the game.

Frakking' Arishok. Warrior and Mage? Got my hiney handed to me multiple times...
Warrior? Trounced trounced trounced trounced DIE ARISHOK DIE because my bloody hands are hurting.
Mage? One spell, run away, stabbity stabbity DEAD. SIX TIMES. Ow, hands? Did I mention the hands?
Thief? Thief slaughtered the Arishok so fast and on the first go through that I was surprised and my nephew had remind me that the game was still going.

I would probably say the High Dragon fight. I didn't even realize that the final boss was actually the final boss till the credits started rolling. Imagine my agony.

High dragon fight if you don't use blind spots to block fireballs. If you do, its significantly easier, but if you do not, it blows all other fights out of the water.

Second toughest is Xebeneck, on my first try I was able to kill Xeb but then got owned hard by waves of adds.

Both are very fun fights :D

The second to last fight. I don't remember what the demon thing was called but it was on my way to battle Merideth and It was the last battle before her. I blinked and my whole party was dead >:( I had to run around downing potions and praying that I wouldn't get caught in that stupid energy thing that stops you in your tracks. I was totally not expecting a fight like that.

It's called a Harvester, it was Orsino until he fused his and several dead mage bodies to his.

No, not that guy, I remember Orsino going all blood mage crazy. It was in the city just before Merideth. He would glow red and blast this blue thing in an area that would pretty much paralyze you into that area to get whomped on.

Ive only played on hard difficulty but so far the most difficult fights have been with ****loads of demons/corpses/spiders + arcane horror involved specially in that "dungeon's circle shaped room" in the middle of the map

You're talking about the Pride Demon. There's another one earlier on if you do one of Merrill's quests, so I already knew about his force cage attack and managed to avoid it. It was a pretty easy fight for me partly because I had done it already and partly because I was playing an awesome rogue who could do massive amounts of damage.

I'm not sure whether the hardest fight for me was the ARW or the high dragon. I was stuck with the resources I had with the ARW, whereas I could go home and get potions for the high dragon fight after trying it and failing. I'd probably say the high dragon was harder overall because the ARW was pretty easy after I figured out good tactics, while the high dragon was tough and took a lot of potions even after I figured it out. And Anders just wouldn't stay conscious through that fight. :P
