If they want multiplayer RPGs, Bioware should just make a new game series that has that feature instead of trying ti implement it into ME or DA, two games that already have an established single player experience. Adding a multiplayer mode would, in my opinion, really f*** the game up. Plus how could they do that correctly anyways? if you both played Sheps, who would get to make the decisions in the game? Who's Shep's save data would the game choose to run because it can't take both. And one person being Shep and another person being a squadmate is also a bad idea. And if you're thinking about a mode where you can have your Shep fight another persons Shep, we don't need this to turn into Halo with map packs and all those stupid kids that just f*** around with everyone.

I'm not afraid of it, I just think not every single game needs multiplayer. That's like the biggest complaint of any game that comes out anymore "No multiplayer, RAGE!" And again. ME and DA are established single player games, I think adding in multiplayer would ruin it.

There's also the fact that players will complain.  In any game with PvP they have to get the balance absolutely perfect first time around or guess what happens?

Fans:The Soldiers not balanced against the Adept! --- So they nerf the Soldier

Fans:The Adept is not balanced against the Sentinel! --- So they nerf the Adept

Fans:Rage!! You nerfed the Adept and now the Soldier isn't balanced anymore! --- So they nerf the Soldier again.

Seventeen patches later and the game is unplayable with any class on single player because they've been 'balanced' to death.

continued...

Fans: The claymore is too powerful! The scimtar fires too fast! The Revenant has too high of an ammo count! Vanguards can boost their shields! Adrenaline rush doesn't slow things down! That one player keeps using "Dominate!" Stop using cryo blast, you n00b!

...MP doesn't sound like such a good idea now. LIke what happened with the 1887s in MW2. :? *goes back to cave*

Why is it that every thread discussing the possibility of a Multiplayer title in the Mass Effect series, (post-shepard trilogy) gets closed and directed to this one, which is a discussion of the possibility of a multiplayer component in Mass Effect 3- something we now know isn't even a possibility?

The world isn't black and white. Multiplayer isn't one topic, it's an entire field of discussion. One thread about multiplayer isn't going to cover even a fraction of what many wish to say.

Least of all a thread discussing multiplayer as a possible addition to an already largely developed title.
Many of us would like to discuss multiplayer set in the Mass Effect
universe after the trilogy has ended
and shepard is no more.

This thread has run it's course. It discusses a hypothetical that we now know is not coming to pass.

Does this mean we can never discuss Bioware producing a multiplayer title later on down the line on the Bioware Forums??

Why will no one explain the legitimacy of this policy either? The enforcement on this forum is becoming increasingly disrespectful to it's community it would seem.

Given the loyalty I have always shown to the company, and that I (and I'm not the only one be confronted with this) have always made the effort to be respectful and constructive in my posts, I can only say that I am disappointed and frustrated.

In light of the attitude I have recieved in response to what I feel are fairly reasonable perspectives, I have no doubt that I will find myself banned or 'warned' for this post, but so be it.

the reason wh yyour redirected is because ppl flood the boards with the same topic by starting multiple threads. if you learn to read the new game informer it clearly states that multi player is a good idea for spinoffs

Multiplayer seemed like a dream when it first happened in games decades ago, but in my experience it has only added "fun" to a game when I played with friends and family. Playing with strangers on the internet is like playing Russian Roulette, but with only one round removed from the gun.

Also, since developers these days care primarily about $$$, adding multiplayer support detracts from singleplayer content, or adversely affects it.

why is multiplayer always a must in the first place? why shouldnt mass effect stay the way it is?  i never cared for multiplayer and in fact i think multiplayer truley does kill the single player story. if mp fans can explaine why mp is needed in everygame ill listen

Agree...not sure the obsession why everything must have multiplayer.

Now if people wanted Bioware to release another Mass Effect title specifically for multiplaying...I would be right behind supporting it.

I think it's fine to discuss MP in a ME spin-off game. I think it's a great idea myself and I don't even like MP. That said, I really don't understand why every game has to have MP. I really don't get that. Anyway, NO MP in ME3, so I'm happy. Thanks to BW for being committed to the SP experience.

and dont forget that mp is more of a cash grab wich imo is the reason why you see it more in gaming. think of it if your on xbox live ( like me) i love xbox live but i have no urge to play this many mp games.. if im gona pay 65 bucks for a game i want the solo story to be massive.. imagine paying 50 bucks a year for xbox live and also some games now require a online pass ( like ufc 2010 and the new mortal kombat). im not totalt against mp but when i hear people want it in me3 it gets my blood boiling because these kids today think mp is the cool new thing

If this was the level of customer care or community building I felt was reflective of the company I wouldn't mention it. I would indeed post somewhere else, probably about different products. As a loyal member of this community I feel it is incumbent upon me to speak up however.

I understand that many of the fans of Bioware products are pro-single player titles, and are not in favor of multiplayer infecting the games they enjoy. Many of us however, are fans of what Bioware has done with multiplayer in the past, and hopeful of what they will do with it in the future.

Can you truly justify disenfranchising this group to the extent of making it so they can only discuss their views in this one, outdated, thread?

To reiterate, most of us who's threads have been cut short and redirected here, were discussing unique multiplayer titles. This thread is a debate of whether or not there should be multiplayer in Mass Effect 3.

I am completely against Multiplyer for ME3. Moreover, it has been announced that there will be no such thing. Thus, this thread has become irrelevant.

So our views are redirected to an irrelevant thread where they won't recieve the slightest consideration, or trigger any valuable debate. I don't believe this is right. I don't believe it is Bioware's intent either. So I bring it to light in the one thread on this issue that hasn't been closed.

Oh, if you want this thread closed because it's about a concept that's been confirmed as not happening, so be it. But you're only getting one multiplayer thread to replace it.
