There are a few Garrus fans who aren't big on Tali. But are there any Tali fans who don't like Garrus? I sure as hell haven't met any.

this has been disproven in this very thread.
at a minimum, there are plenty of people who like one and don't much care for the other.
unless you are trying to claim that they are a dextro version of virmire survivor? you know those 2 very different characters that writers have rolled into this strange single entity in ME2?
personalitywise, Garrus and Tali have very little in common.

Hating Garrus is like writing with a blunt pencil: I just don't see the point. But then again I don't love him either. As a man, my emotional feelings for Garrus are...restrained. I value Garrus; I respect him, trust him and appreciate him. I don't want him to leave but it's all professional. Tali is the only character who got past my emotional wall. Hell, she pretty much blew a giant hole in it on her way through. Now I'm extremely vunerable to girls that remind me of Tali, thanks Bioware!Tasha vas Nar Rayya wrote...

BTW am I the only one that thinks the alliance between Tali and Garrus fans is mutually beneficial in getting both of them back for ME3? Maybe some people maintain good relations with the other group because it's in their interests to have a whole extra fan base supporting the return of their favourite character. All they have in return is support the other groups character. It also pays to have another fan base for support in tough situations.

Still, "not caring much" is far from hating one of them. Also, I don't think that the point of the threat is making them an equivalent of the VS duo. First of all, you're not forced to left to die one of them, at least not yet... but who know what will happen with those damned reapers incoming?

I'm not a fan of Tali (more accurately I was indifferent to her in ME1 and hated what she became in ME2)

And I too found that Garrus and Tali's personalities have very little in common, and yet the 'Team dextro' thing is everywhere. I believe it all stems from loyalty, however. And the fanbases both supporting each other to get them both back in ME3 may be a factor too Flashheart. By the way Flashheart, your a guy? Didn't you say you had funny bumps

I was refering to Golden Owl when I said you weren't the only one. She mentioned she was a she a few posts above mine. Didn't you think it would be a little wierd for a girl to post some of the stuff I've said on the Tali thread? I must have come across as a raging lesbian for a few moments there. Edit: Just found this oldie on Clan Zorah. Note the honorable mentions of the "Kingdom of Garrus" which show how Garrus and Tali's fans go back a long way.

Completely agree Leonia. And all my Shepards but one despise Cerberus. I'm guilty of playing Shepards according to my personality, and I think that aliens have as much of a right in the galaxy as humanity in terms of dominance. Although TIM is badass!
And it is obvious that both of them don't like Cerberus (especially after the sidequests in ME1.) And the fact that they STILL follow Shepard really shows a lot on there behalf.
But I still have yet to find a Tali fan that doesn't like Garrus...

For me, they are the most reliable team-mates for any Shepard that isn't comfortable with Cerberus. Yeah we get a lot of other aliens and non-Cerberus lovers but they're "new" to the team and after going through the trauma of dieing and being left out of the loop for two years, some Shepards are going to have trust and loyalty issues with people they don't know. There is that adorkable factor as well but the general feeling of "I've got your back still" really holds a lot of weight. I generally have one or the other in my party at all times, often times both of them. It just feels like Tali and Garrus are the only real family Shepard has, they are the only two individuals that Shepard can count on absolutely. They also have very likeable personalities and useful skills in and out of combat so they feel more.. fleshed out and three-dimensional than other characters. Plus the banter betweeen them is great fun.
Funny that the only three people Shepard realy can trust are aliens: Garrus, Tali and Wrex.
Tali and Garrus dislikes Failberus for different, but reasonable from their own point of wievs, reasons. I think Garrus have a understanding for the "do what have to be done" methods, but the reason he would prefer them gone anyway is the isolationism and failtastic whacky experiments. As a quarian Tali are of necesity very protective of her own people so the clumsy attack on the flotilla is a good reason for her to dislike TIMmys gang of redshirts.

And Cerberus' experiments were often vile, and a lot of them did have TIMs (and probably even Mirandas) hands in them. And yeah, Shepards trust in aliens is rather ironic, especially as she/he 'works' with Cerberus. But it seems from this thread that trust and loyalty really goes a long way for Team Dextro.

I can agree. I can't go anywhere w/o one of them being on my team at all times and they always come with me when the boss battle occurs we are the strongest when we're together I think. I also feel for them when they have a plight occurring, Tali says she's on trial and I'm trying to keep calm and ask the right questions to get more info from her. Gaurus doesn't think I'll help him with Sidonis and I'm like, " It's you Garrus, why wouldn't I help?" The only time I let Tali go back to the ship alone was with the SB showdown because it was very iffy we had zero intel and her past relations with the SB I thought would indanger her more in a personal way so I took Garrus with me and Liara.
Speaking of SB did anyone not read their profiles the first playthrough or more because it was them? Or did you dive right in guilt free?

Both Garrus and Tali performed well on the SB mission. Yep, dove right in to see what the Shadow Broker had on them.
