I'm not reading it. Hell, in 2 more months I'm not even going to visit the forums until I play through it once. I don't want to hear people's theories and speculations. I just want it all to be there right in my face as it happens. I want to see everything unfold. I WISH I didn't know Shep died at the beginning of ME2. That would've been epic (it still was, but it would've been even more intense).

Now that it is officially confirmed that ME3 will have a 10 page feature in the May issue of Game Informer (which comes out this month), what are your thoughts on doing a media blackout?

Furthermore, PS3 Magazine is also supposed to have a large ME3 feature in their May issue (Which also releases this month).

ALSO, going back to Game Informer, all throughout May, they will have numerous exclusive updates regarding Mass Effect 3.

Keep in mind that E3 still hasn't happened yet. What is your stance in regards to reading/watching ME3 media?

Even if I don't look around for the previews once they've been released, there will be bits and pieces of said feature articles being discussed in varying degrees of depth on the forums until (and possibly after) new info is drip fed to us throughout the year.

If I want an untainted experience with ME3, then I have to avoid anything and everything on the internet that is related to the series. That's going to be hard because I formed this terrible habit of looking for ME news at least once or twice a day before (and after) ME2 was released.

I am mainly interested in the possible inclusion of a certain gameplay feature (that just so happens to polarise the fan base), as this will determine how excited/cautious I will be in the lead up to release. If I can limit my ME3 exposure to finding out whether that certain feature will be implemented, then I'll be happy.

Do you visit any other videogame online forums besides this one? I am also anticipating Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Repupblic so I will be able to hang out at those forums to distract me from this place.

Personally, I will probably read the info from this month's magazines. However as it gets closer to release and the major websites starts to release their hands on previews and what not, those is what I'll avoid. When Bioware releases the official launch trailer for ME3, I'll avoid that because Bioware has a habit of showing crucial content, mostly endgame content in their launch trailers. DA2 didnt but with ME3, anything can happen.

The only info I want to know is how has ME3 changed from ME2 such as RPG features, combat, graphics, inventory etc.....

When it comes to plot details, I could live without that.

I am cautiously excited.

I think we all agree that Bioware's Marketing Department is....hmm. They have a spoilerish tendency, as with ME2. DA's marketing was god-awful (though the game was "great success!"). I know they're all different teams, but Bioware tends to do too-much, too-fast in my opinion. As much as I always want to do a media blackout, I can never muster the willpower to do so, and inevitably I already have half the story by the time Bioware releases the game because of their clips.

I am *excited* however, because ME3 has to be big on story. If this is the end of Shepard's story, I expect bigger, better twists and secrets of the Reapers revealed, and all kinds of crazy random things to come out into the light. Everything we've wondered about the ME universe that we've come across until now should come out. Is Aethyta Liara's other mother? Will the VS return? How loyal will Miranda be to you if you start working with the Alliance again, truly? What happens with Legion, and how will that affect the Geth within the ME3 storyline? Why is Haestrom's sun dying at such a quick rate, and how does dark energy (matter?) play into the Reaper's return? There's TONS of things I'm looking forward to having answered. I just hope ME3 is as big on the story as it's become with the pew-pew.

This. I played ME2 without knowing any details about it except that i could import my save game into it. To me that was the best experience possible. I wont be viewing these forums for too much longer, probably only the news and announcements forums ill have a glance in carefully.  After doing this for ME2 i would reccomend this for a better ME3 experience.

I've seen the stuff in store for you guys in ME3. Be excited, be very excited.

Also, other than the attack on Earth, I think we'll try harder this time not to spoil things for you. By the time the game ships you'll be mad about the lack of story info ;).

I just do not know what it is with Bioware when it comes to marketing and why they are so hell bent on releasing major/minor plot points in their marketing?

When I read the preview for Skyrim in GameInformer, I still know NOTHING about the story as the only thing talked about in the article was graphics, combat, physics, environments and other related features. With the ME3 GameInformer article, I doubt it will be the same as everything will be about the story.....

Thing is what makes ME awesome is the story - its packed with major and minor plot points. Selling it as awesome only by talking about basic game features can be difficult - but we may see a move towards that this time.

Beyond who squaddies are, most of the things I want to actually know about are gameplay features rather than story/narrative ones. I want to see what the RPG elements are going to be like, what has stayed and what has gone gameplay wise, what's been tweaked and what may be returning from ME1 that was missing or scaled back in ME2. I want to see how progression is handled, user-interfaces and what the basic style and feel is going to be. And most of all, I want to see if squaddies are properly geared for space exploration and combat this time.

The story stuff... I want to experience most of that while playing the game itself, not before.

Awesome I'm glad to hear that Jarrett. One thing I'd like to ask (if you can suggest this to the right people) is to keep some of the possible team mates (maybe 2-3) secret untill the game is released. I kept away from DA2 as much as I could to do this and I loved when I dicovered I could recruit someone that it was a much more rewarding discovery. I'm going to try to keep away from ME3 spoilers too but I LOVE Mass Effect so much that it's hard for me to do it as much.

Yeah we tried to keep some of the squad mates a secret for ME2, like Legion and even Garrus. But one screen or vid clip can slip by and spoil it (or people who see early demos etc).

^ This. ^

Well said.  You guys let me roleplay and find out what happens to my Shepard!  I just wanna know who's coming to kick some butt with me. Gimme some gameplay features--are thermal clips returning?  Are we still planet scanning?  Mako anyone?  Planetside exploration?  I don't want huge spoiler scenes of HOW and WHERE I'm meeting my new teammates.  I don't want the first 30 minutes of our first major mission.  There's plenty to keep us interested; the game will sell regardless of how much/how little you reveal.

I can take the silence but I need to know at least few squadmates that will be returning.
