I've seen the stuff in store for you guys in ME3. Be excited, be very excited.

Also, other than the attack on Earth, I think we'll try harder this time not to spoil things for you. By the time the game ships you'll be mad about the lack of story info ;).

Earth gets attacked? SPOILERS.

jk. :P

I'm excited of course, but I'm definitely gonna be cautious about how much info I read about it.

It seems though that if we don't say enough about story, people jump to negative conclusions quickly. At any rate, we'll keep a lid on stuff :)

I tend to agree, although I never followed the build up to ME or ME2. With DAO I knew more than 80% of the plot and it ruined the game for me. I would like to know
-What is the release date
-Is the gameplay and character system like ME2?
-How much of the ME2 character import carries over, do we start from level 1 or 30?
-How many Me1 and 2 squad mates return, how many new squadmates.
-Which guns and powers are coming back, what are some new ones.
-Are the events from LotSB and Arrival highly important to the story

I would also be reassured if the story is confirmed not to be a DAO clone ie recruit the Turians, Asari, Krogan or Salarians, Quarians or Geth, then kill Harbinger.

Very good questions without spoilers. Like to know if any of my paid weapon, armor,or freebie(Dr.Pepper or Cerberus) will carry over to ME3.

It won't.

I'm excited.  Can't wait to get the basic outline of what's going on, and then cut myself off after that.  It worked pretty well for ME2, but I just want the basics.  A gameplay trailer or two, some news on the overall theme, etc.

i like to know where you got the proof that they wont carry it over, since most the new weapons we have will infact carry over and special armor will infact carry over  due the fact if we import  from doing a me1, me 2 chain i know for fact all my money my rep carried over  it should carry over to me3 uness they  make entire ly different  weapons powers etc then we will be seeing all the old armors from me2 and maybe it will be upgraded unless of course they come out with different versions or new weapons..

I'm super pumped :)

Heh. Got your word doc templates and spreadsheets ready to go? ;)

I can hardly wait for the ME3 marketing to begin. Should be fun to try and puzzle out where they're going with the final game.

I agree. Finding the right balance of keeping people interested wo/giving too much away can be a challenging task. People assume the worst these days way too ealisy. I hope you can find the right balance between the two for eveyone.

The only way that they could diminish my enthusiasm for the future GOTY is if they had a preview of the game that included a bunch of Mako or Hammerhead missions.

Yeah we tried to keep some of the squad mates a secret for ME2, like Legion and even Garrus. But one screen or vid clip can slip by and spoil it (or people who see early demos etc).

Sometimes the detective work is the fun part =]:D:D

Well in all fairness we were right with some of those assumptions.

Hint: Don't replace the squad in Mass Effect 3!

I am more excited than cautious.
I followed the pre release info on ME2 rather closely and yes, some thing get spoiled. They have to show you some stuff.
I don't know, maybe Garrus' reveal in game would have been even cooler if I wouldn't have known but then, just reading about all the ME2 stuff before it came out, discussing issues and speculations with other fans on the forums, looking every day for about 3 months for every new scrap of info and often getting rewarded with some small snippet was great fun as well. For me, that just adds to the ejoyment I get out of a product like a Mass Effect game so yeah, I am excited to hear news of ME3.

Turns out, those of us who liked the original romances & squada had reason to think negative.

But, hey... that's all water under the bridge now. You nice folks wouldn't do that to us loyal fans again, would you? ......would you?

Oh gosh, y'know I'm gonna blow a gasket if I don't get to reunite and continue my romance with Kaidan in ME3.  It's one of the sub-plots I look forward to most.

Agreed! Thats a bargain bin decision for me straight away.

Oh and I agree with everything Terror_K said.  I don't want to know too much about the story (as little as possible), its things like gameplay, thermal clips, planetary exploration and finding out what definition of 'RPG features' is being used.

If that article says, "Yeah Garrus is back too." I will preorder one copy of Mass Effect 3 for every platform for the game.

In terms of Mass Effect, Bioware has been hell bent on showing off core
story details to the media to write about, thus generates a lot of
spoilers. Example, Skyrim was recently detailed in a GI issue a few
months back and it talked about nearly EVERYTHING but the story. It
talked about the updated graphics, physics, combat, locations, gameplay,
inventory, leveling up and so on. When it did mention the story it was a
VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY vague and broad point
. In other words, it
mentioned the plot.....without really haven't to mention the plot if
that makes any sense.

That is because Bethesda Games NEVER have a plot. Point out one game from Bethesda that had a plot beyond a plethora of random quests jumbled toghether. Storymaking in bethesda games are junk.

Not excited, would like product details though.

What kind of game will this be, kids stuff or Sci-Fi opera.

I'm not reading it. Hell, in 2 more months I'm not even going to visit the forums until I play through it once. I don't want to hear people's theories and speculations. I just want it all to be there right in my face as it happens. I want to see everything unfold. I WISH I didn't know Shep died at the beginning of ME2. That would've been epic (it still was, but it would've been even more intense).

That's how it was for me. When I bought ME2 I knew absolutely nothing about the game other than playing the first one 2 or 3 yrs before. Boy, that beginning intro was sp amazing, and I feel sorry and can't believe Bioware gave that away and spoiled the plot for anyone reading those articles.

Last time I was promised cool new footage I saw the Normandy blowing up. I'm not falling for that one again.

Agreed. Sorry BioWare, you make some of the best games in the market, but I will never trust you in this case. The disappointment I had in finding not many surprises after playing ME2 because of the trailer leaks was catastrophic for me... But it was still the best game ever.

I don't want to read the issue if it spoils anything. Someone tell me if there's spoilers or if it's worth reading!
