The things that concern me the most is the continuity breaks. Everyone wears armor with shields, then everyone stops wearing armor and or using shields. Everyone use guns with unlimited ammo, now everyone uses guns with limited ammo. Mass relays are indestructable, mass relays are now destructible. It's starting to irk me to the point where I'm having a hard time taking the game narrative as something legitimate If you have to muck around with and or change the lore to create a new story, you are doing something wrong. If for example in ME3 we find out that Biotics can now literally create matter (Summon Husk?) I will beat my head against a wall.
Stop running around my house with your brand new albeit muddy tennis shoes dag-nab-it!
I'm sure there will be some regardless, but I hope they keep them to a minimum. I'd just like to see a bit more sound plausibility in the plots, environments, etc. I should not be wondering how in the heck Shepard's body can survive planetary re-entry. You know stuff that like that. My chief concern is they will always throw away plausible scenarios in favor of more dramatic/cinematic stuff. Which I don't entirely approve of, although I thik I'm something of a minority.
Otherwise for the most part I pleasantly look forward to seeing how ME3 will turn out. Like I said I'm pretty sure they gameplay itself will be good.
Why are some of you guys so uptight about spoilers though? As long as it's not real major stuff, like here's exactly what happens at the end, what's the big deal? How does it ruin the experience to know that say... Garrus will or will not be a squadmate in ME3? Didn't ruin ME2 for me. To a point I actually like to know what's in the game, that way I can form some judgements as to how much I'll like it. I mean it's kind of like saying that because you read the Harry Potter books, you now can't enjoy the movies because you know the spoilers.
If knowing some of the plot details lessens the game for you then I think you're relying too much on shock value for enjoyment. Personally I enjoy the games purely for the experience, knowing some of what happens doesn't ruin the game for me, since what really matters is that I get to playthrough it myself. In fact to a degree it's somewhat nice cause then I can approach my first playthrough a bit more sensible fashion. Know that "Thane" was the assassin certainly didn't make his recruitment mission any less fun. In fact I was more excited cause the whole time I was wondering when he's going to show up and snap that dude's neck?

Thank you so much, Lee! Spoilers are evil!Jarrett Lee wrote...
I've seen the stuff in store for you guys in ME3. Be excited, be very excited.
Also, other than the attack on Earth, I think we'll try harder this time not to spoil things for you. By the time the game ships you'll be mad about the lack of story info.

It may be early, but already I can barely wait for ME 3 to come out. It's going to be epic.

It seems though that if we don't say enough about story, people jump to negative conclusions quickly. At any rate, we'll keep a lid on stuff
Gosh Jarrett I hope you guys do keep the lid on. I want the end of my Mass Effect journey to be as wonderful and unspolied as it possibly can be. Thank you so much for chiming in on this thread!

I think we will this time yeah. I'm still proud of the ME2 launch trailer though
The Mass Effect 2 launch trailer was beastly. It convinced me to buy both Mass Effect 2 and 1 as well as Dragon Age: Origins as soon as I saw that Bioware was behind that game as well.
Been a Bioware fanboy since then.

Yeah we tried to keep some of the
squad mates a secret for ME2, like *snip* and even *snip*. But one
screen or vid clip can slip by and spoil it (or people who see early
demos etc).

So I´ll just have to hope that no core info is being spoiled and I´ll have to be careful when reading such things.
Bioware, please make a Mass Effect 3 Subforum! Some people won´t want to discuss ME3, so I think it´ll be unfair to have other fans talking about it in the ME2 Subforum :/

And you should be! My husband and I watched it like 4 times a day every day until the game came out. I STILL watch every once in a while, and it still gives me goosebumps every single time. <3

So last two Bioware campaigns when into every small detail of every major plot twist or boss together with endings. Can you please keep it quiet about story and such? Because after watching a trailer for you games, you will already know how game starts, evolves and ends.

concerned. There's a lot on the line. The final installment of a
trilogy has the potential to make everyone cry with joy, or throw their
arms up and go 'Aww! Screw this I'm going back to playing Star Wars!'

That said, speaking as someone who isn't in the slightest bit the typical Sci-fi fan.. I was a big fan of Dragon Age, and not the least bit interested in getting involved in some sci-fi third person shooter pretending to be an RPG.. the trailer for ME2 is what sold me.
I knew nothing about the games, I had no interest. Then one night while bored i stumbled upon the ME2 trailer on steam and felt I had to play it. It was dynamic, exciting, the soundtrack kicked ****g ass!
I understand the trepidation of many fans, but think of yourself as part of a community, because that's what this is. If you want Bioware to continue to turn out this caliber of game.. If you want the next investment they make into the Mass Effect universe to be as compelling and moving as this trilogy has been, then you as a fan and member of the community need to do your part of being supportive.
Understand that Bioware will do what it takes to make their game a success. Remember too that they are not just making this game for us, but for people who have yet to be exposed to this trilogy. If they market the game so as to appeal to only existing customers and fans of ME1 & 2 then the best they can hope for is to break even on sales.
This wouldn't encourage any investors to follow up in pursuit of further Mass Effect titles down the line. The series would appear to have peaked and that'd be that.
So what you see as a spoiler, someone looking on with fresh eyes, with
no clue of what's going on just sees something awesome they want to get
involved with. This can't be overlooked.
So I understand the frustration and I may join you in abstaining from reading and viewing all that's made accessible in the months ahead, but I fully support Bioware in pimping out their game to the gaming community!

Imagine if we didn't go into ME2 knowing that we could mess up our group if we didn't do everything right?
