That might have something to do with how the demons inside Feynriel's head seem extra-able to mind**** people.

Thats an excellent point  and would sure explain how everone but the PC and Anders can be tricked

Tricked? I see nothing that said the demon's didn't intend to keep their bargain - Torpor keeps his.
They don't because they're sorta killed.

What was Torpor's bargain exactly, beyond "gimme the boy plx because i'm too weak to seize him on my own"?

Pride offers Merrill proverbial moon, stars and the restored elf kingdom. Somehow i don't see how it's going to keep end of that particular bargain.
