Bodahn and Sandal...forget everyone else, these two are only about eachother - true father and son, even though they are not of blood, they really do enjoy eachothers company.

The conversation you have with Bodahn when he's worrying about what will happen to Sandal after he's gone was one of the most unexpectedly touching moments in game, closely rivalling Anders giving Varric his pillow (d'aww).

I dunno. I kind of like the complexity of Varric and Bartrand. Despite being betrayed and all the crap his older brother has pulled, watching him come to terms with things as they are and accepting Bartrand couldn't help how he was at that point, and that revenge was going to be pretty hollow was some pretty damn good writing.
Then when Fenris wanted to kill his sister, having Varric pipe up and give his two coppers worth, arguing that Fen would really regret it was just powerful for me.
Varric has some really good writing.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked Bodahn and Sandal and having them in my home, added a lot (esp after Mama Hawke's run in with the Barber of Sev...I mean Lowtown...) it really added a little feeling of family to the household. Bodahn's convo about what he was going to do with Sandal after he was gone was touching too.
