Question about Assassinate

"Assassinate kills weak enemies outright, while survivors suffer a massive critical hit.
Physical damage: 447
Critical Chance: 100%
Cost: 40 stamina
Cooldown: 40s
Type: Activated Ability"
But, how exactly does it work? I'm running a bow rogue. Does it change to fit my specific fighting style, i.e., if I were to play a DW Rogue, would it be a different attack? Or does it do the same thing?
Thank you! ^__^

Personally I enjoy using both bow and daggers for different situations, rather than limiting myself exclusively to one or the other.
Whatever the number is with your daggers, multiply that by 2 because you will be hitting twice.
When you work with your mages to have a high health target debuffed with
- Brittle (either upgraded Petrify or upgraded Winter's Grasp)
- Hex of torment
- upgraded Mark of Death
- Elemental Weapons and/or Deathroot toxin on your rogue

Faster than rogue attack speed? you high??
So yeah, if you like big numbers... Rogue hands down
Mark of Death -50% resistance (fully upgraded)
Hex of Torment -25% resistance
Entropic Cloud -25% resistance (death cloud upgrade)
Arcane Poison -15% Magical resist (nature damage dagger)(on allies)
Mighty Offence Potion +10% dmg (on hawke)
Brittle +50% critical damage (not using Petrify since it adds 20% resist)
Pinpoint Precision +25% critical damage
Disorienting Criticals +25% critical damage when obscured (plenty of ways to do this)
Blindside +20% damage when enemy not targeting rogue
Assasinate +400% dmg vs Brittle targets (fully upgraded)
Devious Harm + Gear +274% critical damage @ 68 cunning
