I love how no one answered my question. Oh the internet such a insightful place.

But seriously, ME3 will do just fine.

As for GoW versus ME3 that's personal opinion and not many on this site care about MP or GoW at all. I for one HATE GoW and FPS games. Give me Mass Effect, or Dragon Age or Any other RPG any day of the week. I don't play online MP games. Only games with MP features I've played was Star Trek Legends, Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter 5 Online, and Fable 2 and 3. Fable 2 and 3 I only did the co-op for the achievements, for Virtua Fighter 5 Online I did it for lack of anything to do and it was a fighting game. Same for Soul Calibur. As for Trek Legends, I wanted to see what it was like to play it online and got bored with it after everyone kept on kicking my butt.
I stick to Single Player games because they entertain me.

Everyone know that arrival was a bigger fail than witch hunt. Everyone also know that in 011 straight up single player games dont stand no chance against the big bwoys.
Gears 3 is prone to sell 5 million copies its first week just off its epic multiplayer and in this recession people only got money to buy 1 or 2 games every 6 months. Trust that most PS3 users can care less about a Mass effect 3 so hopefully Bioware aint too worried about wahat the JohnnyComeLatelys think. Mass Effect 3s success will rely on whether X Box users wanna put 60 dollars behind it and with gears 3 coming i doubt any xbox user is gonna care about ME 3 if multiplayer is absent.
You know, if you had written: "Everyone knows that I have opinions. I have an XBox and want Multiplayer." You would have said basically the same and wouldn't look like a troll that much.
I can't say much about Arrival, but to say that Witch Hunt was the worst DLC imaginable from Bioware?
Remember Pinnacle Station for ME1, now that was an incredible bad DLC.

As a 360 user I'm fairly insulted by your stereotyping.
I'd buy Mass Effect 3 three times before I buy Gears of war. Multiplayer is the last thing I want for Mass Effect and Gears 3 is a definent rental. Maybe thats how some xobox users think but don't put all of us in the same boat.

Wow...
I highly doubt anyone will give ****.
Besides there's the PC and PS3 audience, so if people wanna play clunky control multiplayer shooters go right ahead.
If Bioware want to sell ME3 optimaly though they should avoid releasing in the same month as Deus Ex and Skyrim, as I see most ME fans would also flock around those games.

I'm gonna disagree with you there. When examining any DLC, you've got to ask how it was advertised and what people were given cause to expect from it. Pinnacle Station was always supposed to be a combat DLC. Witch Hunt'a advertising, on the other hand, centred around Morrigan, and we ended up with about three minutes of Morrigan at the very end and no real answers from her. In my book, Pinnacle Station succeeded better at what it was supposed to do than Witch Hunt did (even though WH's party members were very cool and interesting).Carrington666 wrote...

I wouldn't say Arrival is a failure. Subpar? Pricey? These things maybe. It's still marginally enjoyable though, I just expect something more substantial from Bioware usually.
Also I doubt Mass Effect 3 has to worry about sales. There is huge number of people who simply will buy the game regardless. And frankly I think adding MP is more likely to hurt sales then help. I could be wrong, but Dead Space 2 didn't sell better because of MP. I doubt Mass Effect would either.
Thinking multiplayer will help ME3 sell better is about as stupid as thinking multiplayer would ruin ME3. Multyiplayer with ME3 will accomplish nothing.
You are right about ME3 coming out in a year with a lot of competition. I would like to see the game delayed til early 2012 to be safe myself, but if the game is really ready then delaying won't really help anything, since holiday sales always help. If ME3 is on people's Christmas lists more copies will get sold.

Modern Warfare 3: the 2nd game sold over 12 million on the 360 alone. Though COD has been getting some heat lately... well it's COD. Its going to sell big regardless of how good the game actually is.
Battlefield 3: The hype machine is running over at Dice, and it looks great from what I have already seen. Will easily sell in the multimillions.
GOW 3: The pinnacle of third person shooters. It won't sell any lower than 6 million.
Skyrim: To me, this is ME3's biggest competition. Bethesda started developing this game before they released FO3. It is a richer RPG experience, and will likely outsell ME3.
Deus Ex: A game that will probably not sell more, but is a similar game in many ways.
Batman AC: Yet another excellent game. And yet another multimillion seller.
Assassin's Creed 3: Probable 2011 Q4 release. Likely 3 - 5 million.
There are obviously more. But can someone please explain to me how Mass Effect does not get completely buried. Why not delay til 2012, add content, features ect.?

Are you serious? You actually expect Mass Effect 3 to get "buried"?
With all the critical acclaim around the first two, and the hype that is going to start building up for this one, it's going not going to be "buried". There is a vast crowd of people who play ME. Alot of people I talk to know about ME, and intent on getting ME3.
Besides, the games your naming off are just big titles, but most placed in different genres. ME3 isn't going to attract every crowd like you think a video game should. The RPG players aren't going to go out and by Batman AC, or Assassins Creed 3.
The only competition I really see for ME3 is Skyrim. And alot of people, including myself, are going to get both so it doesn't really matter.
People freak out on this thread more then anything.

Haven't played Witch Hunt yet, so I'll take your word for it. Is it even worth playing?
I am a huge Bioware fan in general since Baldur's Gate and I've enjoyed every one of their games since then (including DA2, which I think has gotten a lot of unfair criticism), but I was seethingly angry after playing Witch Hunt.
