False.  Of course we are capable of recreating the pyramids.  To think that humans can build submarines, send men to the moon, build skyscrapers while being incapable of remaking pyramids is a fruitless thought experiment.  Baseless statement with zero proof.

the pyramids were finished within 20 years. whats the excuse in the 10 year gap?

False thinking you can't equate the building practices of one society to another without considering any number of reasons why it may have been hold or took one group longer then the other... also I would need to double check the actual time spans.

I was merely identifiying your positon calm down, and two the Bible is a piece of allegory to me not fact.

Way to make weird assumptions there.

Lots of slave labor.

Actually much of the labor was probably free peoples who instead of paying taxes that year would work the pyramids or other construction projects in the off-season when not planting or harvesting.

Ummm... Politics and Economics... O and man power maybe?

Ancient pharaohs didn't have to deal with all of that. They want something done, they put everything they had into it. Thousands upon thousands of slaves at your disposal can really help with build time.

Well, with today's religious people, especially here in the US, it's not that big of an assumption. Especially if you live where I live - the heart of Bible belt.

when people hear aliens from space they think war of the worlds but i look at it like what if those beings came here and helped humans advice in life?

Then where did they go?  Why did they leave?  Did they leave no trace of their existence (far-fetched concept)?

can you say when cavemen were around they had a math system like the sumerians?

Why not?  Math is a simple representation, the only way to represent observations of the physical world.  Why wouldn't intelligent beings be able to figure out a system to work these representations?

or heck look at the mayans why were they so obsessed with keeping track of time and the stars?

Next you're going to say the reason the Mayans called babies born with birth defects 'touched by god' is because the visiting aliens inflicted pregnant women with huge levels of radiation.  And what does making astrological calculations have to do with aliens?  Nothing.

theres an african tribe in africa that spoke on star people who came to earth. explain how many cultures say the same thing when they never crossed paths with one another

Many cultures say a great flood wiped out the majority of civilization to pay for their sins, does that have something to do with alien life too?

Minor nitpick I would like to reiterate that although slave labor may have been involved much of the work on the pyramids and other structures was by choice, an easy way to pay taxes. China did the same exact thing with it's own ancient large scale projects.

We are alone.

The Universe decided at point in its life that the next goal is to become conscious of its own existence. And so it created life and humans. You don't need multiple sentient beings to achieve this goal as it requires a tremendous amount of energy and luck.data:image/png;base64,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 The first aliens we encounter will probably look like this:

I am really hoping we'll discover extraterrestrial life within my lifetime, possibly within our own solar system (Europa, anyone?), but I'm not expecting more than primordial mush, or something like archaebacteria since those little buggers can survive almost anywhere. Finding and communicating with intelligent life out there? Probably not. Space is too damn big.

I should've known that by the time I got here this would've devolved into an aliens-built-the-pyramids/aliens-are-gods thing. Still, my two cents:

(1) Yes, there's most likely life out there. But due to the distances involved, we'll likely never meet.

(2) Due to the distances involved, aliens have never been to Earth during human history (hey, there's always that odd theory that the Earth got naturally seeded with bacteria from a comet - don't know if I buy that, but it's out there). Our history is our own. Surprise surprise, people - the ancient Egyptians WERE smart enough to organize large segments of their population to pile courses of stone one atop the other!

(3) Even if there is alien contact, that doesn't disprove religion. I don't know why some UFOists seem to think that, it seems more like wish-fulfillment to me than anything. I think Shepard says it best to Ashley when he says "Ash, you believe in God with a plan for the universe. Don't you think every other species plays a part in that plan?" If anything, contact would eventually lead to this consensus in world religions.

My bet: right now, on a planet way far away in some other galaxy in some other supercluster, there are a bunch of alien adolescents on their own version of an internet forum asking these exact same questions and wondering these exact same things.

My thoughts exactly.

the world trade center was completed after 30 years

the pyramids were finished within 20 years. whats the excuse in the 10 year gap?

Ideas like worker safety, health insurance, and labor unions didn't exist back then.
Also a government with absolute control over its subjects undertaking a project compared to a company undertaking a project.  Hmmm...I wonder what else could explain a 10 year gap, assuming what you say is true.

While I hate to bring up a notion brought up in a completely different topic, it has never been actually proven that faster then light travel is possible.
I have no doubt that there are other alien lifeforms living in our galaxy, but because of physics, we may never be able to reach each other.

The flaw in your logic is this - you assume that because we are incapable means other species are as well.

Now I'm not saying FTL exists or that it doesn't. I'm simply saying at this point in human history we simply do not have the knowledge or means to say either way.

Any race capable of surviving the stress they put on their own world would likely have no sympathy for us. They would expect us to prove we are worthy of survival and space travel/colonization.

That's probably true. But that literally has nothing to do with what I said.

I would disagree wholeheartedly. The behavior of an entire species who's genetic roots, evolution, adaptation, and ability to comprehend the world around them would be the major deciding factors of an alien species as to how they  would judge us.

Humans, for better or worse, are predators, (omni) carniverous, social, and highly conservative creatures. This is a trait that almost all higher level mammal carnivores share with us. This has effected everything about who we are today. We see, smell, hear, and taste the world around us, reacting to everything.

But what about a jellyfish like race, without eyes or ears? They might "see" the world via the absorbing of sound waves, like echo location. Their evolution may depend entirely on more vegetarian traits, starting with them eating plants and allege, and eventually eating larger plants with more nutrients. The entire mannerisms of a race like that starts out with what they eat. In a world with no natural predators, and no lack of resources (like an ocean world), this race of jellyfish would have no reason to suspect humanity, should they locate us, as being anything other than friendly.

A rude awakening? Perhaps. But there are two traits that humanity, and highly advanced jellyfish would share that would make coexistence, if not possible, at least a comforting fantasy:

1. We'd both be social creatures. No matter what, no race can make it to the stars without a social dialogue that emphasized curiosity, which leads to my next point...
2. We'd both be a race that fear isolationism. I think that, while the idea that there may be other races out there frightens us, what frightens humanity more is the notion that we are completely alone. No one to hear us scream, no one to aid Earth should something bad happen, no one to visit us a few hundred years from now. The idea that we are completely alone haunts us, and drives us to be social animals in the first place. That's why movies about invasion fleets attacking earth make me roll my eyes. Why would any race, humanoid or not, want to wipe out another species? Yes, I know, you can't expect them to think like you or I, however, I think that what makes any civilization great is it's individuals longing for unity. Over the bodies of those who oppose you or hand in hand with those who have different ideas, every great civilization wants unity. And with the vaccume being so large, and so empty, the idea of being completely alone would send a shiver up even the most alien of spines. Any conflict in reality with another alien race would likely not be so much an act of aggression leading to obliteration of the opposite species, as it would a pinch on the cheek to make sure they weren't dreaming. If we fought with another species, it would most likely be so that we could take some small comfort the the solid fact that both sides exist, and neither is alone. It would be a war of pure drama, for drama's sake.

let's try to get back to the subject, were talking about possible alien encounters in the future here, not the past.

Deformity happens, the skull is human and the parents were human.
