But for those who knows the plot, do you think this is possible? This is really interesting...

It has been speculated that this child is in fact the Grey Warden Alistair, Maric's bastard child and half-brother to King Cailin Therin, though this remains inconclusive and up to debate at this time.

Just a good old copy and paste. Interesting read though.

Yes, that's why we need to discuss it because it has only been speculated.

Thanks for the nice copy and paste though, I know you're trying to help :)

BTW, it really reminds me of Harry Potter Half Blood Prince LOL

There didn't seem to be anything elfish about his sister, Goldanna. Was that a cockney acccent she was suppose to have?

i heard rumors that, the sister goldanna is not really his sister, its a lie. As i think Fiona still lives, not sure, i havent read the whole book yet. But the goldanna story is a lie as that woman had a baby at the same time as fiona.

anyone can correct me anytime now

This story sounds very interesting. I'll have to read this book to expand my Dragon Age fix.  Bioware really needs to get back to centering their game around the Origin character's stories.  This whole Hawke thing should have been nothing more than about four dlcs this year with the real DA2 coming out in January of 2012.

So half-elves appear to be like totally human? But how come the elves lost their immortality through "associations with the quick children"? It's kinda like a paradox......

Originally, I though it was because some ancient elves had sex and produced kids with the Tevinter humans. And then, some half elves continue to mate in the elven society. Therefore, the lifespan of the entire elven species was shortened. When the ancient elves found out, they closed their border. And it enraged the Tevinter mages, so they attacked the elves and enslaved them. And then....massive rapes took place during slavery period, further shortened the elves lifespan. But if half-elves appear to be totally human, then none of this would have happened. (You see what I mean? Because the half-elves would have always been outsider and would not be included as part of the elven society simply because they look just like humans.)

They told Alistair that his mother was a servant. Well, that could be his foster mother, and mother of Goldanna. Baby Alistair needed someone to take care of him, so maybe they gave him to this woman (maybe even paid her to say he was her son) but sometime after she died or whatever and they sent him to Arl Eamon and then the chantry. Since he was too young maybe he doesn't remember much. His real mother may very well be still alive, since she somehow recovered from the darkspawn taint, she'd probably be near Duncan's age maybe?

The other alternative is that Alistair has yet another half-brother somewhere in Ferelden :P King Maric sure was busy.
