That's pretty much exactly what Hawke does to Javaris in Act 2. After killing all of Javaris' guards. And then looting them. The treatment of the Winters when Hawke rescues Saemus in Act 1's "Wayward Son" too.

Eh, I don't hate Aveline, but I don't think she's all that great either. Yeah she can be funny, but she's soooo self-righteous like Wynne. "Injuries are down and costs are up"...while your guards are doing what exactly? I know what they're not doing, is clearing out the gangs that I have to clear out in Acts 1, 2, and 3. No wonder injuries are down. I don't really see how things improved after she took over as captain for Jeven? As guard-captain what are you doing following a noble around all day, rescuing lost dwarves from the Deep Roads and whatever else? That is both politically a bad idea and dereliction of duty.

I don't see anything badass about her I would rather have Fenris as my tank and not look at that montrosity of  freckled ugly that won't sthu.

Aveline's chin is a tad aggressive, but I honestly don't see where all the "Aveline is fugly" sentiment comes from. She looks fine to me.

Also, doesn't attack you for no reason? The only way to get on the Rivalry path is to be McJackass. So, you pushed her buttons and you don't expect her to just snap and take your ass down? Even after, you both laugh it off. It was a tension breaker. Rivals don't go skipping along and giggle to each other. If you wanted that, then you should have gone down the Friend path.

Like 6 years ago? How do you expect yourself to hold that over her head forever? Aveline has done a damn good job of keeping Hawke out of trouble. And what does it give Aveline? More paperwork and headaches. Hawke can dabble in some pretty dumb ****.

I dunno. Culture gap maybe? I admittedly haven't seen the scene (and don't want to spoil, I expect my next playthrough may trigger it, lol) but. Getting into a dustup with someone to clear the air isn't all that weird in my experiences.

In fact, I find that kind of straightforward thing easier to get over than petty backbiting. -shrug-

She like spends all of her time helping Hawke.

She never reports you for any of the illegal stuff you do.

If you want specifics, their are many companion choices where you can get her to solve problems for you.
