Nah... diffrent type of game. Open world games have always sacrificed story. I doubt Skyrim will be any diffrent.
I have a feeling the Witcher and Skyrim are both going to be fan-f*in-tastic but for diffrent reasons.

After reading about all the improvements Bethesda appear to have made based on what they learned from Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3, I'm starting to believe this more and more. But as has been said, Skyrim will still be a different sort of rpg to TW2/DA, so I can understand why many people are wary to compare it with them.

Isn't DA2 the same thing? blood gore and sex?
Clicking the mouse or 1-5 keys is all the same to me.
Clicking 1-5 = Five buttons
Clicking left mouse = One button
I like your logic of how they're the same though
That said. Do i have to collect 10 flowers for a nudey card in The Witcher 2 just like i could in the first?
u don't have to
Triss giefs u butt if u care her enough to do her a pot

You actually collected the cards? Interesting.
Here's how my 2 playthroughs in The Witcher when
1st playthrough:
>Get to 2nd town
>Collect 10 flowers for porn
>Uninstall.exe
2nd playthrough:
>At end of the first level
>Geralt: "Triss, you've been unconcious for hours, i had to make a potion to help you recover.. And your friend... Is dead.. I'm sorry"
>Triss: "Oh ok. Hey wanna f***?!?"
>Geralt: "DERP, SURE!"
Uninstall.exe
oh u have played Triss card
sorry if u did not like a woman who is happy to have sex

I could certainly see how people did not like the Witcher 1, and I can accept that. I however found it enjoyable. CDPR strikes me as a nice company, releasing the Enhanced Edition was a good thing to do. If you watch the dev diaries they really have a passion for what they do, and they hold Andrzej Sapkowski in incredibly high regard. All we can do is wait for the end result. It's not like CDPR has that much of a track record to extrapolate upon as to whether it will or will not be a good game.
As for Skyrim, Bethesda DOES have a track record. The fact remains that Oblivion was a decent game in it's own right, but it's barely recognizable as an Elder Scrolls installment. Not to mention Bethesda's blatant lies and letdowns in the past. The information we've been given about Skyrim is irrelevant. This is ESPECIALLY true of Bethesda that no amount of trailers, dev diaries or combat videos are going to show that it's a good game. We can, and will, only know if it's a good game upon it's release.

Me too. TW2 is story-driven. Bethesda is the king of open-world games. Both devs are commited to quality. I can't wait for their games.

One who clearly knows you from your past, and obviously loved you... does anyone pay attention in games anymore?
The confusing part comes though when you get these little references suggesting you were deeply in love with a witch...was it her? Makes for some interesting thoughts. Do your unremembered affections have more weight than what you are experiencing now? Personally, I thought the developer did a nice job of treating this issue, and since I hadn't read the books it didn't really get flushed out until the Inn Keeper in Chapt. IV.

Triss sex card was very natural sex. Triss though was a llittle bit more vocal than average woman to call it. However, why should Triss be average woman?

Yeah... I actually didn't see it having anything to do with DA2 at all... but I'll pretend that it did for the sake of it remaining a DA2 topic, thus keeping it from being locked. I find this thread interesting.
I agree. After reading this thread I thought CD Project made fun of current "gamers".
The Witcher is hands down superior RPG when compared to DA2

If he is dissing DA2...then we should laugh because The Witcher sucked Satan's balls. Seriously that game was bad. Seriously, this witch offers her body to you and the excuse is so lame.
Witch: "How can I prove that I'm not guilty to you? Oh, let's have sex"
Geralt: "Kay. I believe you now."
Dialogue was terrible.
Geralt: "I don't believe you. *10 second pause*. Someone killed my boyfriend...who? You?"
Oh and let's not start about gameplay...
For all its flaws, DA2 still beats The Witcher. The Witcher had terrible combat, storyline, quests, dialogue, voice acting and all the women in it were ****s. Plus we play as elephant man's (God take his soul) great great grandfather.
And the DA2 dialog was better?
Anders: Can I stay with you?
Hawke: (Non-commital response) You can stay with me until we die!

Imagine my joy when i saved 10 hours of horrible side quests in the witcher by going to the witcher wiki and looking at the list of sex card without having to do anything
You're... honestly out of your mind. DA:O and DA2 had sex scenes too... You could say that about any game with sex scenes. They just represented the sex scenes through art instead of having polygons bump together like a boy going through puberty and abusing his sister's Barbie doll collection. Hell, Lunar Silver Story and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue had the same system as The Witcher. All 3 really good games.
The difference is the sex cards in the witcher are a gimmick. Something to make you play the game. In fact you have to do QUESTS in order to get them. The sex scenes in dragon age are the product of character development
See the difference?
The Pearl and The Blooming Rose..dont remember any quests for pixel banging

Personally, I thought she was a strong female character. She has her own house, is involved with the intrigues of court, and even serves as advisor to the King. Her involvement with the Witcher is purely of her own choice and it comes with terms (hence his having to choose between her and Shani). Casual promiscuity doesn't seem to bother her.

The sex scenes in DA:O were a gimmick as well.
And a sh!tty one at that. The Merrill "sex" (well, actually dry humping) scene was so f*cking bad it almost ruined the romance for me (which would have been awesome cos Merrill is just the most perfect girl in this universe).
I agree on the romance scene not being... good.
I mean I adored Merrill and just flat out love her character.. but god forbid the love scene.
I love the game, but that is one part that made me .. cry. I worked to impress her
and practically nothing happened after that. She "partly" moves in and it was like
we were just companions.
At least it shows she cared in the "before battle" and the dialog where she didn't leave.
But please work on the romance scene a bit more.

You Americans really have some strange problems with nudity, sex, or having fun [in terms of sexual encounters] within games. I really do not understand why t'is is the case, somebody must enlighten me.
The Witcher is a gem among the RPGs and so many people can't wait for TW2. However, unlike BioWare, the _main audience_ won't be entirely ignored.
Oh, and did anybody listen to the music in the Bard's trailer? It was excellent! CDprojects really shows how much fun they have while working for the game and for us!

It's called repression. I think it's in our constitution or something.
