Good luck to TW2, but a huge part of me wants to see it fall flat on its face like DA2 did. *evil smile*

And exactly why? Red Project actually improve their game AND are customer friendly, without the whole pre order/DLC crap. So, if you´re no RPG Hater or Bio Fanboy i see absolutley no reason, why one should hope that they fail.
In fact i´m playing Witcher 1 right now, and Bio should have paid more attention how to make a city believeable and not so stupid lifeless and uninspired like in DA2.

"But how do you lure a succubus?  With a fool of course!  So it was off
to find Dandelion, the most famous bard in all the land, and a good
friend of Geralt’s.  He’s also perhaps the only man who gets more action
(the female kind) than Geralt does – he’d clearly make for perfect
bait."

This sneak preview seems to be included in "The Savior of Queens" (one of the "ladies" has a rather long looking tail).

PS: The Witcher 2 >>> Dragon Age 2:P

Yeah but thats kind of like saying "Finding $20 dollars on the sidewalk >>> Being punched in the face"
oo

Well, we don't wanna overdo it here;)

But imO The Witcher just feels better.
More immersion, cooler hero, less cliché, etc.

The Witcher 1 alone owns DAO and DA2 together.

That would be cool if they did that and how many people end up doing so. *lol*

The Witcher offers up a real mixed bag in terms of production value, but the games environments for, be they large bustling towns, small homesteads or lonely country roads are nothing short of inspired. Locales are realised with such skill and attention that one often feels transported into the middle of a living, breathing world.

Compare the beautiful, credible environments of the Witcher with the rather staid and static world of Dragons Age 2. The Witcher employs daynightweather cycles and occupants of the world will go about their daily business seemingly unconstrained by the whims and fancies of any game player. The Witcher is full of superb little graphical details which add to the overall ambience and feel of each environment: birds will scatter from their hidden nests as you ramble by, stray dogs will wander the streets of Vizima, local militia will patrol alleyways with flaming torches at nightfall and peasants will huddle together for shelter and grumble when the skies open. Quite brilliant!

For all the games faults, I certainly came to appreciate what fantastic job CD Projekt RED STUDIO did in crafting such convincing settings using what was essentially a tweaked version of BioWare’s old Aurora Engine.

That was a perfect way to describe The Witcher - so very true.  I love it when it starts raining and all of the NPCs go running for cover.  Can't wait for The Witcher 2! Posted Image

I started playing it again to have saves ready for Witcher 2. Npc's actually talk about the politics, racist comments against other races, stories of domestic abuse. It's really immersive.

One such npc in the Outskirts in Act 1 says "I couldn't sleep over the noise of my neighbor beating his wife last night" that had me tearing it was so unexpected and another npc said "I would never hurt a dog but I would hang an elf"

The Witcher world is dark and Temeria is not a country meant for nonhumans and it shows.

I think they're trolling the entire industry actually, but in some recent gameplay Geralt runs across a women who wants help with her boyfriend. That's likely a stab at Bioware. :)

Yeah well, in DA2 you stumble across the body of a dead "Gerralt" bloke with long sword who happens to be some highwaymen or something on exploring a Hightown mansion. If that isn't a stab at the lads of CD Project Read team then what is.

this was good thanks for putting it up
im glad someones finally making a game were i dont have to be burdened by gameplay

if this is a jab at bioware fair play, that bioware dev was happy enough to mock final fantasy so why should they be immune to such comments

I don't think it's a jab at Dragon Age 2. It seems they're mocking their own game - at least with the sex parts because Witcher contained a lot of that if the player involved himself in that stuff.

Obviously this is DA3. Everything looks so very Orlesian. It would be just like them to get in fits and attack each other with mandolins. :D

I'm going to laugh so damn hard if the Witcher 2 turns out to be as much of a hollow mess as the first one.
That one was being touted as the "saviour of RPGs" too. Whatever.

Really, DA2's flaws are not going to be solved by holding up some eastern european misogynist claptrap as the messiah.

Yes yes you are right. Here in Poland we are eating babies for dinner, we hate our womans - we literally keep them on a leash. Generaly speaking we are low lifes not worth mentioning anyway.

Did i mention we are eating babies. Oh i did.

Odd statement considering I was speaking of the game. Unless Poland and the Witcher are one and the same in which case you might have more problems than my criticisms.

I find it odd that a fan of RPG's would take pleasure in another wonderful IP bombing in the manner of Dragon Age.

People see competition in everything. Human nature I suppose.
DA:O walked all over the Witcher as the latter floundered so badly they had to release The Witcher: This One Really Works Properly, Honest! Edition.
Now DA2 is the one with issues, certain people see it as a chance for "revenge".

Your example actually owns you.

CD Projekt actually listened to their fanbase and drastically improved a already great game.

DA2 is just going to have DLC that "adds" content that is already in the game, just going to be unlocked by a 10kb file. While all the major problems with the game go unfixed.

Oh please, I read the vitriol being thrown at CD Projekt when the Witcher first came out.
It was most definitely not "an already great game" but hey, rose-coloured glasses are useful for times like this, no?

I was comparing DA:O, which needed no "improvements" with the Witcher.
Whatever the Witcher 2 does or how badly DA2 sinks remains to be seen.

Hopefully CD Projekt's trolling, jabs, and insults resonate with Bioware. I originally thought CD Projekt were being arrogant snobs when they started poking fun at Bioware before the release of DA2, but it seems that, despite their ego, they were ultimately right about DA2.

While not everyone will agree, this is the first game in 10 YEARS that I regret paying $60 for. DA2 was a horrible, horrible shock for me - made me realize that one of my favorite developers may very well be the next Rare if the trend continues.

Dragon Age: Origins is hands down the best RPG I’ve played this generation and I have nothing more invested in seeing the Witcher 2 do well than seeing the genre flourish. What’s your agenda?

I'm commenting on people in general, i.e. several people in this thread apparently gloating over DA2's problems.

And yes, CDRP worked hard to deliver an enhanced edition of The Witcher free to their community; that’s to be commended, not condemned. How likely is it that Bioware will respect their audience enough to roll out an enhanced edition for DA2?

CD Projekt is nowhere near as well-established as BioWare. They had to release an updated version to save face.
The fact remains they released a game that required such a drastic fix in the first place.

Heh. Even The Witcher Enchanced Edition still contains problems. The dialogue appears broken at times and NPCs still don't use facial expressions despite developer claims on the back of the box.
