Apparently, after Bulletstorm's mockery of CoD, this is just the cool thing to do. Sigh.

Here's hoping BW actually responds to all the criticism.

tw2 looks both simplified and easier to use but also gives us a chance to do use more powers and attack styles

Hmm. I disagree. Combat looks pretty chaotic in TW2, and much harder. I can't say if it's better or not yet. Certainly combat in TW1 was a weak point.

Oh come on, you cant say Aveline's quest in Act 2 wasnt hilarious. Yes it involved killing stuff, but that wasnt the actual focus of it. Image IPB

And I liked that quest, until you had to kill 50 trash mobs. Really it was unnecessary to put those there, not to mention annoying.

And that is only one example.

Some of the quests in DA2 were done very well so i don't think that is a fair comparison.

Yeah, but the game didn't really give you a break from combat.

DA2 could have used a lot more non-combat quests.

I agree with you, they should have done a few more without any combat.

Someone with a join date of 1 day ago with no registered games trashing someone who he thinks likes the game (when his post actually has nothing to do with that)....nothing new here.

I also liked the line that involved the psychotic killer which ended in act 3. I know some people didnt have an emotional reaction to it, but i know i did.

Also, I didnt know that if you brought a certain companion along on Varric's quest in Act 2, it actually changed the outcome a bit and made it a bit more touching.

a few more examples! Image IPB

edit: Although if you're point is nearly all quests involved too much combat, then you're right. At least some though were actually well done and not "kill ____ ____ at ____ for me".

i was more talking about the controls, but yeah the combat has been ramped up for the sequel

Not all of them, remember the ghost quest and some other similar quests, some of them were very well done.

What ghost quest? That Varric sidequest?

You had to kill tons of trash mobs in that too.

The fact that CDProject understands what makes a bad game gives me a good indication that they understand what makes a good game. The 'official website' for THE BARD is a must-see... They seem to get it.

Add to that their Good Old Games website, and you get the feeling of a company that really embraces the kind of games I want to play... Instead of, you know, streamlining.

Yes, okay, I admit that those two were also fairly well done. B)

Bioware just didn't need to put so much combat everywhere, in my opinion. It just sort of spoiled these quest for me a little.

I know they all had combat but they were still done very well, i just wish they had a few with out the combat and used a different way.

I'm not satisfied with DA2, but what an overhyped piece of software The Witcher 2 is. How can anyone expect The Witcher 2 to be more complex after that ridiculous combat video? Roll, Roll, Left Click, Roll, Roll.

I thoroughly loved and enjoyed DA2 and I will thoroughly love and enjoy Witcher 2. The first one turned me off in its terrible dialogue (Geralt's VO was just horrible most of the time) and mainly the combat was very rough. But by the looks of the combat gameplay of TW2 it looks LEAPS and bounds better than the first one. Did anyone else see the slow motion combat menus? Looks amazing. And if that wasn't enough the game looks absolutely gorgeous. TW2, SW:ToR, TES: Skyrim my 2011 game purchases (hopefully!) Can't wait!

yeah, i'll give you that. The blasted Mabari packs on Avveline's thingy did get annoying. But i guess since im an ex-wow player, i got too conditioned to these type of things.

Hawke murdered at least half people in Kirkwall. Surprised there was anyone left in the Free Marches after DA2.

Maybe Varric was just exagerating?

That's it! All the faults with DA2 can be attributed to Varric being drunk while telling the story.

Also, does anyone know whether TW2 still has that awful clickiness (and had to have mouse right ON the enemy) and bad camera moveability, or did they fix that?

That's just how it works. The underdogs take shots at the big guys whenever they can, usually for fun and to make a name for themselves. It does absolutely nothing in the end, aside from getting a handful of fanboys riled up on forums. But I seriously doubt in this case they were making an entire april fool's joke just to poke fun at Dragon Age 2 or Bioware... that would be pretty damn sad. I think people are looking from drama where there is none.

The Camera in The Witcher was Terribad I admit, I am sure they will have fixed it since it was a big problem. As for the combat I'm not sure.

I have one advice for you... go to official forum and check yourself... I don't know what others think but I have enough to repeat what game W2 will be or what game W2 wouldn't be

No, how it works is this: big pubishers spill a bunch of BS. Gamers lap it up. They buy all the overpriced and uninspired DLC. Then they buy a crappy sequel based on brand name alone. That's how it works.
