If you really played the game you would have known that you can buy the flowers and did not need to waist 30 minutes picking them up.

And why did you need 10 flowers? were you planning on sleeping with all the prostitutes?

No wonder you did not like the game, maybe you should have concentrated on the plot instead of the flowers.

Maybe CDprojekt should have concentrated on the plot rather than putting in 50+ hours of horrible side quests

"How dare you play the game like the developers intended, TwistedComplex! No wonder you hated the game!"

Apparently the plot was way over your head as you seem to have missed it.

Yeah, everything about the witcher was too complex and intellectual for me to understand. Either that or it was so boring i didn't even bother to care.

Can't remember which one it was though

Once again, the video is a criticism of the industry as a whole. And I think the industry deserves some criticism.

But you got a sex scene... what the hell is the difference?

Well if I have to explain it to you...Its like asking what the difference is between watching romantic comedies, and watching porn. Image IPB

The Witcher wasn't about relationships. It was about banging every woman in the game to collect their trading card. Hence, sex-pokemon.

Meanwhile Isabela gives a fully clothed scene thats something of a tribute to the old swashbuckler films. (Stripping each other of...weapons, not clothing) As part of an overall romance.

I guess I'm hung up on the idea that you think DA2 had some kind of deep relationship development in it...
But, even then, you have to admit there is little difference, except stylistic, between showing little art pieces and showing polygon models roll around together.

Yeah... I've finally figured out where Twisted is coming from:

TwistedComplex: "Oh, wow, this game has sex scenes in it too... Another must buy."
*Picks it up*
TC: "Oh, ****, I have to gather flowers to unlock them!?"
*Sets about picking flowers*
TC: "There... ah, yes, so worth it... alright, where's the next sex scene? ...I have to protect her from ghouls!? **** THIS GAME I WANT BOOBIES NOW!!!"
*Looks them up on Wikipedia*
TC: "Ah.... there we go. Well, this game is pointless now."
*Throws it out*

More like:

TC: "Wow click to attack. And after that? Get this. CLICK AGAIN!"
TC: "Well maybe some of the side quests will be pretty engaging"
Random hoe: "I'll blow you if you gather 10 flowers for me"
TC: "F*** this"
uninstall.exe

Nah, that can't be it. You said yourself, you looked up the sex cards online.

If the game was so boring for you why did you bother to finish the game?

If i don't like a game i stop playing.

Well my options were either spend 20 minutes of monotony or use the power of google

Guess which i choose

Good luck to TW2, but a huge part of me wants to see it fall flat on its face like DA2 did. *evil smile*

And this would secure Skyrim dominance against 2011 rpgs and beyond.

You should at least have finished once. You wouldn't be less disappointed, I also played it once and only once through. My second playthrough stopped end of Chapter 3.  Anyway, if you bought it you should al least suffer through all of it. Imo.

Kind of sad though if a game needs others to fail to be the best.

I think you're still not quite getting it. There's quite a difference between taking a few minutes to woo a girl, get a card and move on to the next one and a relationship that builds over an entire game.

It probably would have been the best anyway, but other games falling flat on their faces will make it stand out even more.

Right. Let's just forget about Siegfried, Triss, Dandelion, Zoltan, Shani, Rayla and all the other Witchers. Let's focus exclusively on a card collecting game which barely had any impact on the actual gameplay experience. Nope, no such thing as actual relationships in The Witcher.

There ARE important relationships in Witcher, both with male friends (Dandelion, zoltan etc...) and a love interest (you even get to "adopt" a child, in a way).

The sex cards are just because Geralt is a f*cking playboy and banging a witch / a cute medic is no reason not to bang stupid townsfolk, mermaids, dryads and princesses too.

To be honest, I can understand him. If the women´d jump me like him, I´d do the same like Geralt.
(Only without painting the damn cardB))

And what exactly do you gain from that? I'd rather have had 3 or 4 great RPGs this year.

The difference is the sex cards in the witcher are a gimmick. Something to make you play the game. In fact you have to do QUESTS in order to get them. The sex scenes in dragon age are the product of character development

See the difference?

The sex scenes in DA:O were a gimmick as well.  Inserting them in any game seems to ensure a larger sales volume than eliminating them.   And Geralt's character development was explored with the choice between the two leading ladies, one of which favored a disciplined child rearing approach, the other a more "let a child be a child" approach.

And a sh!tty one at that. The Merrill "sex" (well, actually dry humping) scene was so f*cking bad it almost ruined the romance for me (which would have been awesome cos Merrill is just the most perfect girl in this universe).

In my first playthrough I romanced Shani, obviously because I like her better. In my second I wanted to give the child to the witch because after the first playthrough I thought she may be a better caretaker. Obviously that prompted a romance with the witch and Shani didn't want to see me anymore. Logic fail. As many others as well because if you try to do something different from the 'obvious' you get stranded. That's the same problem DA2 partly had.

If you're looking for porn, then why in a video game? Just curious.

You gave the child to a woman she totally hates instead of Shani? No wonder she hates you.
Imagine your almost-girlfriend would take care of a child and then you give the child to the woman she hates more than anyone else - do you think she´d just ignore it and still love you?

But that's an entirely different argument all together... One we can have, but I'm still on the first one, which is that the sex scenes themselves were no better in DA:O/DA2 than The Witcher... There's no grand distinction between polygon-sex and art-sex.

If I misunderstood, and you're actually criticizing the depth of the romances rather than the way the sex scenes were presented, then I have to say I didn't find the relationships deep in any of those games (not DAO/DA2 or TW)... Fortunately, I'm not really looking for deep relationship development in cRPGs... but atleast TW doesn't pretend that the relationships are deep. Geralt had a past love that he lost, and he'll never feel that way again, so the sex can be trite... What was Dragon Age's excuse?

No Merrill porn on paheal......:crying::wub:

Naa, seriously though, an adult rated game should have sex, too, if only to justify the rating. You get mass murder and wars in every cartoon aimed at 5year olds nowadays.
