A patch is very welcome, and I'm glad to hear it is at this stage, but I'm still quite frustrated that I bought a game for full retail price, and got a game breaking bug less than a week in. Its now three weeks from release date and my "full retail" game is sitting unplayable as the price drops and drops at retailers. I feel like some sort of refund or credit is deserved.

Has the price really already gone down on new copies? The bugs must have been more widespread and gamebreaking than I'd imagined for a price drop to occur this soon.

Other than being on sale, not via permanent price drop, this week through amazon.com and Best Buy for $49.99 all the other major retailers I checked still have it at normal $59.99 price, so I don't see any real price drops anywhere, however I wouldn't be able to speak for all the Mom'n'Pop shops or stores outside the U.S. lol.  But I figure it was just a way of venting their frustration with the situation. :bandit:

Everybody is thanking them? Give me a damn break. If they just sat down with the game, for any length of time, testing it to begin with, we wouldn't be sitting here waiting for this patch. Bioware is still a joke and should mos def not be thanked.

I'm just glad to get the auto-attack option in. I've been waiting to play DA2 since release day because it was left out.

I hope they fix the dialog wheel bug. Dunno if it exists on the 360 version but on PS3 I cant count how many times I had to reload a previous save because when I go to select an option on the investigate side of the wheel, it suddenly shoots back over to the other side and selects something that I didnt want to select. Not sure if Im explaining it properly but oh well lol.

And scary, don't you think?? All the tests they have to do to get the certificate to release the game and they still have a patch over to fix over 100 problems in the game??? I only can say WOW! And I will say thank you Bioware when I have the patch and play the game without a problem!

At least when BW releases a patch, they do what they say they are going to do in it (usually).  Unlike Bethesda or Obsidian.  They say they're going to patch this, this, that, and this but when the patch comes out, not only does it NOT do what they say, but it causes even MORE problems lol.

I understand what you mean, but that may be because I've gone through the same thing.  Good thing for the auto-save feature, as I don't save all that often.

I totally understand your point! Don't get me wrong! I very fan of all games Bioware made so far! And that is exactly why I got upset with all bugs, glitchs and freeezes with DA2! I really hope this patch can make the game works!

Where did you purchase the game?  By showing the store manager documentation that the game is literally defective (the Isabela/Sebastien issues, the fact that some abilities simply do not work - Goad, Armistice, and possibly others) I got my GameStop to refund me full store credit.

In a month or two when the patch finally comes out, it will be nice to be able to pick the game up used and actually finish it.

I haven't been able to play my PS3 version of the game since March 9th because of the crippling freezing issue that version has. So I'm really hoping this patch will fix that.

Good news, I just hope this is not one of those patches where you have to restart or re-roll a new character to experience the benefits. That would suck major ass.

I highly doubt that would happen, for one thing I don't believe there is anyway to "prove" you had the game issues because apparently not everyone was affected by the problems, if they start handing back refunds and credits, everyone would say they had the issues, they wouldn't be able to tell who actually was affected...as far as i know, the only way is to bring your ps3 to them and have it run the game to show that it had issues.

No, you're right, there’s no way to tell who actually was affected or not.  If they were going to do it, it'd have to be a gesture of good will towards the community as a whole, to show they care more about us than their profits.

One example I could think of is making the next DLC free to anyone who owned the game before the coming patch came out.  Even if this means a few people who weren’t affected by the bugs in some way get something for free, it’d be a really good move on Bioware’s part.

Frankly, I'd held Bioware up on a pedestal as one of the best current game developers.  They have consistently made some of the greatest masterpieces of video games in history, but recently my faith has been damaged a bit.  It will take some work on their part, more than just releasing a patch, to fix it.

Good point...a free DLC for those who bought the game before the patch seems pretty fair and its manageable... as for "caring for us rather than profits"..well..as much as we like to think that Bioware just caters to us, and don't get me wrong I hold bioware in high regard as one of those companies that always delivers, it IS still a company and a business and as such profits would always be a priority.. and its understable, without profits, the company wouldn't exist and we wouldn't have games...the video game world is still one big business with lots of money involve, more so in recent years...but it would be a nice PR gesture i guess.

They should prioritize the patch for console version first since few bugs on the pc can be modded :(

Personally I hope they fix most obvious bugs first in my case, the issue with Merrill Act 3 quest, Isabela romance outfit (tough there is a workround but still) and Hawke´s no voice in combat issue for me.

Agreed man.  I am never buying Bioware on release date since this is the SECOND bioware game i have bought that had the same- opps you bought the game and it freezes so now you have to wait over 3 months to enjoy your 60$ purchase. Thanks for giving a **** Bioware ;) We love you

First I would like to comend all of you all at BioWare making such a great game, no one is coming harder than you guys presently as far as RPGs are concerned. I am a big fan of the responsive combat changes, no need to backtrack in that regard. I would have preferred Fenris to have been a Rogue "but hey, I'm not picky" (Alistair)

I just wanted to point out a few problems that I have encountered in case you are not aware of them already.

1) I know about the bugs with regards to Isabella and Sebastian. I avoid earning their friendship or rivalry completely but my Hawke's attack speed begins to lag after I complete the Night Terrors and Family Matters quests regardless of the companion bugs.

2) After finishing the game I end up getting locked in Hawke's estate when I load my post campaign, the only other place that I can go is the Black Emporium. I really hope that this is an issue that is being adressed and that I will be able to start a new game with everything that I aquired in my previous playthrough.

All in all, DA2 is a great game and Bioware is a developer that listens to its fanbase and appreciates their feedback. Other companies would leave major game issues as is and not even bother to give us a chance to discuss any problems.

Hope to hear from you soon and Rogues run things.:bandit::ph34r:

To the best of my knowledge this is not in any way an issue and is working 100% as intended.  There is no "New Game +" feature in DA2 just as there was no such feature in DA:O.  You are meant to only be able to access the DLC areas after game completion, just as it was in DA:O where all you had access to was the Camp and DLC areas.  This is not a bug, but I do agree that adding this feature would be nice, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon, if at all, seeing as this would require not the tweaking of current coding but the addition of all new programming.

And yes, Rogues do run things!  :bandit:

Essentially what Im going to do since there are apparently so many things being fixed is as soon as the patch is released, is deleting all my current data and starting over fresh.  That way, I can actually use Isabella (and possibly Sebastian if I can stomach his preachiness lol) and have a little more "group diversity" other than just using Varric as my "go to" Rogue.
