In the PC forum they have basically confirmed that the Isabela/Sebastian bug is fixed, but can't rescue characters already suffering from it. So either load up an old save from before you got the bug, or start over. Since I got it at the beginning of Act 2, I'm probably screwed for my first character's playthrough.

I stopped my second character at the beginning of Act 3 because I did want to romance Isabela but was waiting for the patch. My third character is planning to avoid being friends with Isabela anyway, so that will likely be the character I end up finishing the game with for the first time...

Properly fixing it would require effort. Nothing about DA2 tells me that's an undertaking BioWare is at all interested in.

There's actully a retroactive fix being worked on, but it won't be ready in time for this patch.

Right. At least a month out. Maybe. No guarantee. In other words, I'm not going to hold my breath.

Whatever, it doesn't matter to me anymore. I've completely run out of patience with BioWare on this issue, and just got back from trading in DA2. All in all, it cost me $35 to do their beta-testing for them. Wonderful.

you know what if thats true [] you bioware. go ahead and boot me from your [:bandit:] forum. give me my money back you [:police:]. id rather play shadows of am before i play another one of your games. that game is [:wizard:], 15 years old maybe more, and was more fun than 3 levels you gave us on DA2. please give me a message saying you booted me from the forum.

I wonder.
If I already have the Isabella bug, but my attack speed hasn't really been slowed much yet, then do you think I can play it after the patch without having to worry about losing more speed? I can handle the small amount of attack speed that I have already lost; and I would rather do that then go back to an earlier save.

maybe you could calm down dude do you realise all the crap bioware as been trough for not standing up to ea I mean all that crap is ea's fault (for making them release an unfinished game) but every one his just spitting on bioware yea they made a mistake but ea as been doing this for years and people keep buying there games
so we should be grateful for the work they’ve been doing on those patch (bioware not ea).
You think they’re grabbing there ass all day NO they’re trying to make this game better so give them a chance.
Off course it sucks to buy an unfinished game but they could just have told us to **** ourselves but they didn’t.
So thanks guys for doing the right thing and choosing to fixes this game

ps to ea 1. you guys were starting to release good game again so dont screw it all up by doing THIS again
ps to ea 2. maybe you could slow down on the dlc thing

How ridiculous. Fixing bugs is not "doing the right thing." They're going to milk this absolutely mediocre game for all it's worth, which isn't be much if the game is totally broken. So, it's not about "doing the right thing" and all about lining their pockets with DLC money and future sales.

And how big a chance should they be afforded? It's been a month. They've just admitted that many will continue to be effected by game breaking bugs for at least another month, best case scenario. Sounds like they've had their chance, and the dropped the ball, again. We definitely shouldn't be surprised though, considering how badly they fumbled the entire game.

And honestly, telling me I should feel sorry for BioWare for "all the crap [they have] been through for not standing EA" is almost as inane as the guy above screaming profanities and racial epithets. BioWare put their name on it, therefore the buck stops with them. They knew who they were getting into bed with when they signed up with EA. They deserve every bit of rational criticism that's been coming their way. That people have the gall to say we should be thanking them for making their product even somewhat workable is mind-boggling.

"Doing the right thing", riiiiight. DA2 was a ridiculous and shameless money grab, I really can't believe the people at BioWare -- whom I know to be pretty intelligent -- thought they at all put out a good product. Whatever, I wash my hands of this game and BioWare until they can show me they're interested in putting out working and complete products again. Not that I'm under any illusion that they care.

You, me and how many thousand other people. I think I know why you can't delete saves from within the game now. It made sure most people didn't have to restart from the beginning once the beta test cycle was over.

I'm not even sure what to say now. If this bug really isn't fixed in the 360 version, then I'm trading my signature edition in. What a waste of money. On going, if I ever buy a bioware game, it'll be on the PC where someone in the community can mod the game and fix the issues that occur, as the company I've invested my hard earned money in, apparently cannot release a game or patch to fix the issues I'm experiencing.

So for me to resolve all my issues, I basicly have to either load up and old save, losing hours of time replaying it, or starting again from the beginning of the game, where there are _still_ loads of import bugs that have not been corrected.

One Month later and we have a "Under the carpet" patch which from what I've read in the PC forum, has caused other issues to occur for them, some not even being able to PLAY the game now and other issues which can be fixed with the users editing their gamesaves, which we console users cannot. Just brilliant. I thought will all the bad press they've had over this lately, they would have been on the ball with the patch.

I'll be anticipating this patch next week. Maybe we'll get fixes the PC users didn't. It's doubtful. I'm really losing faith.

If the 360 patch works the same as the PC patch, then yes, you can play without worrying about losing more speed. It was stated specifically by ... someone, I forget who now, from BioWare in the PC thread mentioned that if you were able to load a save where the bug hadn't affected you very much then you could continue playing with that character with no worry of additional slowdown. So there's that, at least. Also, PC users at least have the option of editing their save file and setting attack animation speed to 0, which essentially fixes the problem for them. No such luck for 360 users, of course, but I'm not affected by this. I can't complain. I'm just glad they're working on it.

And for everyone who keeps saying that BioWare doesn't care, you can quit with the hysterics. Yes, it's annoying. Yes, it's not fair. Well, at least they're doing something about it. If they didn't care, they wouldn't bother.

This patch is long overdue. That said you can always play a file where you get full rivalry with Isabella and Sebastion and you don't have to worry about their abilities affecting your character.

If your opinion is: "Bioware cares because they are working on the patch", that's fine, it's your point of view. Other people like myself have an opinion of our own: "we paid for a fully functional game, so it SHOULD bloody work". A game that becomes un-playable due to a bug is outrageous (and when your character is so slow that he/she cannot finish one single-freaking-spell per battle, that IS un-playable).

Let's not fool ourselves. To have too many people unhappy with a game, up to the point of returning it even before it's finished, it's bad business. It's bad business because it means less people for future dlc (which are VERY profitable), so it's in THEIR best interest to iron the bugs (bugs that shouldn't have been there to begin with).

I don't think it's "hysterics" demanding that you get what you paid for. I will however call "hysterics" the action of posting anti-semitic rants like the chap who posted before you (what the hell?). That is totally uncalled for.

YES!!!

"- The “Duty” plot will now appear on the Chanter’s Board even if the
player accepted all of the board’s quests before installing the Exiled
Prince premium content."  So I can actually play as Seb now and start his questline, awesome.

I have lots of save files. Is it possible to go back to a certain point of the game and take advantage of these fixes or am I better off just starting over?

If you're willing, I wouldn't hesitate to start over from scratch. If not, sometime in Act I or maybe really early Act II would be safe.

I am NOT starting my warrior again for the third time. This game is being shelved and wont be coming out until I know at least several patches have happened. Can anyone from bioware at least acknowledge the CRAP this game has caused, the lazy design, the terrible story and pointless waste of time it is as an " epic rpg "  Worse game they have made

That's kind of what I  ws thinking but I save, A  LOT, and I  think I  saved over all my Act 1 and early Act II  saves.  Ah well, I  really like the game and I  have no real problem starting anew.  Besides, I  think each time I do a slightly better and more bad **** build.  I should have the ultimate mage perfected by the end of this run.

Added the patch, this is now fixed. :-)  I never had the attribute bugs because I always removed Isabella from a change your party station.

Hooray! Glad to hear there's been some progress. Now I just need to finish up the DAO playthrough I've been working on in the meantime, while waiting for the patch.

I'm sad to see so much hostility on these boards. I'm sure if the developers at BioWare had their choice, they would have been allowed more time before releasing this game.
