I'm assuming you guys have had to have things pass MS certification before... when did they receive the patch and how long has it taken in the past?
Last time i checked (Witch hunt update on Origins) it took them over a month when they first announced it, but that was with some problems. I'm no dev from Bioware, but i would assume 1-2 weeks from now until it's live for download. Unless they hit some bumps on the way of course.

The only reason I'm waiting for this patch, is to hope that all these bugs are resolved ongoing in all later DLC for DA2. I just hope more beta testing and QAing is done before these are released to us this time around.
If I have to beta-test DLC which I'm paying for, with as many bugs and glitches as DA2, I won't be purchasing any more DLC for this game. Based on DA2 I've held off buying the newest DLC for MA2.
As long as all DLC ongoing is checked correctly and proof that BioWare listened to all these issues and complaints made over these last few weeks. Only then, will I continue to purchase from BioWare again. Until then, I'm sceptical.
A free version of ME2 doesn't really make it up to me personally. I'd much rather have nothing but the promise that DLC and all ongoing games from BioWare will be tested correctly and not rushed just to get them out.

Well, aside from future consumers, there's a lot of us -- myself included -- that haven't been able to complete even one playthrough, and are anxiously awaiting this mythical patch. I will agree with the notion that interest in this game and franchise is definitely waning each passing day though.
Ditto. I stopped at the beginning of Act 2. I don't get people who play through when they know there's stuff they are missing due to bugs... =/

Kind of missing the point, aren't you?
The only thing I hear from you people is, "damn you Bioware for fixing your game! How dare you do such a thing?!" As far as I'm concerned, there is no sense in complaining like a child.
Except for complaining like a child about people complaining about the horrible state this game shipped in? Or is it complaining like a child about people complaining about how long it is taking to get a patch to consumers?

I haven't finished playing yet, since I put it on hold when I heard there was going to be a patch.

I am assuming my unit is now ancient from the flashy 'new' black model? Could that be a factor?
How else can we explain one machine having no issues with a game- PERIOD? I have it installed on the hard disk drive.
For x-box users I am shocked, and if this had happened to me...damn- I'd have burned the disc and sent it back to EA. Just don't understand it. I think I might wait awhile before upgrading my 360!

lack of the advertised and promised auto-attack feature has p'd me off since day 1.
The Friendship Bugs and the questlines, especially companion questlines being bugged are really discouraging.

Might I enquire as to whether the patch is intended to fix the notorious Isabela/Sebastian bugs in CURRENT playthroughs? If I wait x amount of time for the patch and find out my 'on-hold' playthroughs are busted no matter what, I don't think I'll bother with the game, I just can't stomach going through the first 2 acts again right now.
They don't want to tell us what they are trying to fix for fear that the patch may not pass certification and they might have to remove some fixes to make their patch work.
Apparently the patch has been sent to MS and Sony for certification so they have a list of what they are attempting to fix but they do not want to share that with us.
It has been stated that auto-attack for consoles is definitely a part of the patch.
The Friendship Bugs are even more serious to alot of players though and it would be nice if they would comment on that.

I really doubt the people from Bioware who actually look at this forum are the ones behind this problem.
My guess is that what happened was that people high up (possibly EA) wanted the game to release ASAP and pressured Bioware to release it much earlier than it should have been.
This would also explain why the game has so many obviously recycled environments.
Because of these problems I'm going to voice my opinion with my wallet. I refuse to buy Mass Effect 3 until I know that the game isn't full of bugs, and I'll encourage other people to do the same (this in in spite of the fact that ME2 was one of my favorite games ever).
That's the only way to teach whoever caused this a lesson, you hurt their bottom line.

On another side-note, wouldn't everyone like to send in their UPC label and get the completed game instead of a retread? I prefer new tires thanks. But for most of you, your wheels are falling off.
yes, I think we need a FULL RECALL and a new release. Yes?

Not only that but did you watch the credits for the game? Looks like a big mish mash of outsourcing.

Eh. I don't really care if I get a whole new copy. And now that it's out, that would probably be more trouble than it's worth. All I really care about is having the aspect ratio and companion bugs fixed ASAP so I can actually play the damn thing.BY-TOR STORMDRAGON wrote...
The clock- I'll be damned...it's showing August 2011. Maybe this was when the game was meant to be released? My system clock is fine, I figured it was a way to track the passing of 'time' in the game. Holy Shyt...I actually have a glitch.

Yes, that's most often what happens. You don't normally have devs, progs and so on rush a project. You don't have this many bugs without a marketing rush. The game stinks of the QA being told to "STFU, we'll do it live!"
I still somehow managed to finish three playthroughs, however...

*Shrug* I've got no clue. I'd actually have preferred it to come out during the summer so that I'd actually have some time to play it. I might end up having to wait that long anyways.Matt 2108 wrote...
What exactly were they rushing for? It's not like they were trying to get it out for the holidays... and there's no other big-time games coming out until September.

As for the patch, it's out of our hands now so it all depends how quickly the 1st partys certify it. That said, based on my experience with such processes, I would say while it's *possible* that you could see it this week, next week is much more likely (and I'm 95% sure it won't be over the weekend)'
From the PC forumsection. Does this only count for PC? and are we left behind to wait even more again?

The patch will be released on all platforms. If it will be on the PC first i do not know, but as far as i can tell the PC folks are using Steam as their patch service, and they are faster than let say Xbox live. It's always like this, though some developers / publishers waits until a simultaneuosly release on all platforms.
