Thats amazing that there is someone arguing that the game should not have SDTV support and it is the consumers fault for not owning a HDTV, especially when the people bought the game had no idea that was the case. And apparently the demo worked fine on SDTVs.

There's no reason to be stubborn and stick with old technology. Finances are no excuse when you own a 300 dollar console and buy 60 dollar games. That's just how I see it, sorry if it offends any of you.

Wow, more amazing stuff.

Actually, the display on the demo was just as small as in the final game, and people were complaining back then too. That's all I have to say. I don't expect anyone to feel empathy towards others on this issue, and I won't try to convince them they should.

...Stubborn? Really? If I had the money to buy an HDTV, I would. Since I don't, I...can't.
Should I sell my 360 to buy an HD set? Isn't that kinda putting the cart before the horse?

I'm not quite sure where you're coming from with this. It's almost as if you're arguing that Bioware shouldn't patch this issue just to teach us backwards SDTV owners a lesson. But that would be silly.

I don't know. Maybe I'm losing my mind due to not being able to finish my playthrough. Waiting for this patch will drive me insane. :pinched:

I understand your point Cyano. I for one would not bother getting a 360 if I did not have enough money to also get an HD display and HDMI cable. But that is our preference and arguing the side that everyone else in the world should share this opinion definitely doesn't put you in the right.

I commend you for being the bigger person and stepping back a bit in your last post. We are all frustrated with waiting for a patch.

Nah, it's okay. Believe me, I know how you feel. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't love the game so much. I'm driving myself crazy by not playing. Let's hope that the patch comes out soon and fixes all of our problems. ^_^

The SDTV thing sucks but really ... where do you draw the line? Will you be pissed when the big releases of next quarter don't support SD? Next year? The next console generation? Time to start swimming. The people who make this stuff decide when tech becomes obsolete. Sucks for the SDTV owners. I empathize -- I was there myself a year agoo -- but really, if you're such a minority that you don't affect their bottom line then what reason do they have to cater to you?

Really cannot wait till you guys at bioware release this patch. Especially since I went and got another copy of the game and for the second time caught the Isabela slow motion bug. Right at the end of act 2, on a DIFFERENT COPY! Smdh, so much for hope on that one. Thanks for still working on a fix anyway, putting the game down until patch release day.

Are people still really playing on SDTV's???? HDTV's have come down considerably in price and are very cheap now. In the UK I have seen HDTV's for as much as £200! And for the USA check bestbuy 22inch for as much as $150!!

I am on benefits. £200 is an insane amount of money to me. I need to eat.

I'm waiting for the patch as well and hopefully it'll let you be able to play more quests even though you've finished the play threw because it's kinda annoying not being able to.

If you are going to buy a 360 or a PS3, you should not do so until you get an HD TV first, otherwise you are just wasting your money.

Just my opinion.

Im so sick of hearing this kind of crap, because its completely missing the point. Ive owned a 360 since the day it came out, and ive always played it on an SDTV, and its never bothered me once, because it looks great on my SDTV with component inputs. I have over 70 games on 360, and not a single one of them has given me any kind of issue such as this. The fricking DA2 demo diddnt have the problem that the full game does with stretching the cutscenes, and its just stupid.

Oh, and if you own an HDTV, good for you, but dont presume to tell those of us that dont, that we should. It just comes off pompous.

lol... well said Purple People Eater

Also, I didn't know that the cutscene problems were the result of SDTVs... that definitely wasn't a problem in the demo. I thought this was just about the small text... I almost never know how many potions I have unless I go to a store and use the menu to "sell" them. Sometimes I think I have like 8 when it's really in double digits! Just saying...

Yeah, the small text I can deal with (I just pretend Hawke is illiterate), but the stretching and framerate issues I can't.

Funny, I always thought it was the other way around.  After all, you are starving!  Go for the HD!

To me, I think the real point is that Bioware said that SD was going to be supported with this game (or at least, I believe they did, I have HD, it didn't so much matter to me).  If they say it will be, and people pre-order based on that assumption, then they should be held to it.  I see nothing wrong with developers making games for HD only.  Though insisting everyone who has an XBox must have HD is silly, particularly when they've owned their XBox for years.  In the case of buying a new XBox, I think doing so without an HDTV is setting yourself up for disappointment, given that the migration from SD is really in full swing at this point.

The are other reasons besides money on why people don't have HDTVs. I've already explained mine but since this seems to keep dragging on, I'll mention my friend. She took forever to get an HDTV because of two reasons. One was preference and the other I guess would be slightly health related. The perference one was simply she didn't like seeing that amount of detail while viewing a show. The slightly health related one was she actually gets dizzy and sick because she can't stare at the screen as long anymore even at a good distance. Bad eye conditions guys, people do have them. And yes she has a prescription.

The only reason she finally caved is because she doesn't have a spare SDTV and hers brokedown. So stop assuming its because people are being stingy or our poorer than you.

Hmm.. what do you guys think the chances are the patch will be released tomorow so we can play DA2 over the weekend?

I really just want to complete it DA2 (was just at the start of act 2 when slow animation bug hit) with all my import descions recognised without having to struggle through bugs.
