Hi Everyone

We know that people are waiting on more patching to fix issues they are having with Dragon Age II. We have said previously that we are working on patching for all 4 platforms (PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3), but we have not yet given any detail about what this patch will contain nor when it will be available. We greatly appreciate your patience as we work to fix issues with Dragon Age II and ensure that these fixes do not introduce new issues to the game. To help keep you updated on the status of the next patch (the first patch for PC and Mac Dragon Age II can be found HERE) we wanted to provide you with a more detailed message on the next Dragon Age II patch.

BioWare has prepared a patch for PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We are currently testing the patch and are submitting it for certification with EA, Microsoft and Sony. Certification is where testing teams outside of BioWare confirm the fixes we make and ensure that no new issues are introduced. We continue to test the patch during the certification process to ensure quality. Once the patch has passed certification, it is then released to the public. We do not have a more exact ETA of when it will be available to you, but when we do know when it is available, we will let everyone know.

We cannot reveal to you the exact contents of the patch until it passes certification. We can say that there are more than 100 fixes including gameplay, quest and platform specific issues. We can also say that the implementation of auto-attack on both Xbox 360 and PS3 is included. When we can reveal the patch notes, we will let everyone know.

BioWare is dedicated to continuing to support Dragon Age II. We thank our community members who have helped our team fix issues by providing details and reports on the problems they are having. We appreciate your patience and your support.

I can't think of a single valid reason why you can't release any patch notes before they are available to download. What other company does this?

"We are currently testing the patch and are submitting it for certification with EA, Microsoft and Sony."

Aha! If it's been submitted to cert, we're farther along than I thought. If they "are" submitting it...well, it's a little harder to tell what that means in the present tense. :-) I suppose you guys have said all you can, though. Thanks for the update!

Most of comapnys release patch notes along with the patch.

It's probably some kind of NDA between Bioware and the other companys

Thanks for the update. I'll just have to hope a solution for the stutter issue is in there!

Wow that's been pretty quick considering how many bug fixes they are going for. I guess when i heard that it was being worked on very agressively to get it out there they were not joking.

Thanks for keeping us updated. It sounds like the patch should be pretty comprehensive. *crosses fingers*

Any chance that PC users could get an earlier, beta patch? That way you can expedite the Jman5 Certification process!

More likely, if a fix for a trivial issue is found (during certification) to introduce some horrendous, savegame corrupting bug, it might be most practical for them just to remove that particular fix from the patch - rather than delay the patch for another 4 or 5 days while they try to hunt down the obscure way in which they made things even worse :).

If they give a list beforehand of what will be in the patch, then everyone would turn round and accuse them of being two-faced, lying [censored]s. Better to release the patch notes only when they are 100% commited to the contents of the patch - i.e. when they actually release the patch.

April Fool's prank would have been saying the above and then saying there would be a full toolset update included with the patch...   :crying:

Thanks for the update.  ;)

I love how the first poster to reply b*tches about something. Great show for representing the community!

Back on topic, I'm sure everyone of DA2's players are happy to hear about these updates and wait eagerly for it to go live. Cheers Chris!

Nice to finally have some proper news on the matter.

Over 100 fixes, eh? I think that's enough to justify bumping the version number up to 1.1. ;)

Hopefully this means we can expect the patch at some time next week for PC. It'd suck pretty badly if certification revealed some huge flaw that meant more time would have to be put into fixing the patch.

I almost waited until Monday to post this to avoid the thought of a prank, but I know many of you are waiting for word and didn't want to delay it anymore. :)

I think it would be extranordinarily stupid of them to release information that players have been waiting for, for quite awhile and then yell "April Fools - no patch guy enjoy your broken game! ;)"

probably not... seeing as they more than likely want to treat all of us equally, they are going to make us wait as long as the consoleros.

No, I do not like that either...

Finally. Some info about patch, but I hope that we don't have to wait for it a month or more.
