Erm.. you can become Viscount, just not play once you are.

Although I grant the Arishok is sexy in a fanatical-borg kind of way, I don't think even Hawke could deal with the nuzzling...

1) side with the Arishok and convert the city to the qun

2) leave Kirkwall, aka templar central

3) resolve the templar/mage plot by killing Meredith OR Orsino, not both

Good idea for a thread, hope the devs are watching. Generally speaking I would've like more reactivity to Hawke's decisions. But to get a little more specific:

1. Be able to save Leandra. Seriously, in an RPG that's this linear that when someone said "Hey, let's make the mother's death unavoidable" the response was "Great idea!" is just really annoying.

2. Be able to affect the fate of your companions through their personal quest lines and thus the story overall a bit more. Some were done well, you could hand over Fenris to Danarius in his, you could help Aveline remarry or not but I would've liked more consequences in all of the companion quests. Maybe if I don't help Anders sneak into the chantry he can't destroy it and as a result it's possible to side with the mages and become Viscount because the people of Kirkwall aren't enraged at the magic users.

3. If, at the end, I have to choose a side then really let me choose a side. I think it would've been better if siding with the mages you only fight Meredith and siding the the templars you just fight Orsino, would've added some replay value as well.

1. Be able to at least try to warn Elthina.
2. Punch Anders. He could stay afterwards, though.
3. Not have Sandal and Bodahn in my house. My only consolation was that at least Bodahn was sure he couldn't interest my mHawke in a hat.

1. Save Elthena (spelling?) the nice grand cleric woman

2. Decorate -my- house with what I want - seriously, just a couple of 'skins' - maybe the option to mount the dragon's head instead of that creepy statue thingy. Or any other trophy. Heck, even having the achievements displayed in a special library style room would have been grand.

3. Have an option to invest money in business, or safety, or something in the time leaps - with better stocked stores, a nice sum to start the new 'act' with, or maybe if so inclined special items accessible if invested in exploration.

1. For the game world to appear to be living an breathing. This would involve more variety in dungeon crawls and walking into people who have their own lives and goals.

2. For the game world to be larger and for the city to be a real city and not a large prop.

1. Kill Petrice myself.
2. Kill Sebastian when he threatens me, or at least scoff at his threats, in that he's most likely to run off, hire mercenaries to chase me, & then sit whimpering in a temple somewhere.
3. Grab the old bat Grand Cleric, yank her back & ask her to explain her 'erring young mother' while the kid's body is still lying there.

1. Be able to play as the Viscount - yes you can become Viscount, but that's only during the epilogue.

2. I wish I could have built the bomb alongside Anders. Although I may disagree with what Anders did, it still would be an awesome addition.

3. I wish I could have romanced Aveline.

1. Stop your sibling from leaving/dying after the Deeproads.
2. Get to fight Isabella before the Qunari take her.
3. Let the Templar recruits actually be possed by Tahrone. Instead of stopping them would have been really awesome come Act III.

oop, remembered another one

Saved the qunari taken hostage by the mental templar (unless you can prevent it and i just chose wrong). Wouldnt have stopped the Arishok doing what he wanted to but it was pretty vile

1. Save the Qunari delegation. At least ONE of them. I failed to save so many people, but those deaths still make no sense to me. Why couldn't I stop him from slitting their throats? I'm a mage, my spells are faster than any man.

Oo, yes, this one, I felt like I let those poor guys down something fierce.  I mean, he stood there dramatically holding the knife for like 3 seconds.  I could've gotten a Fist of the Maker off in that time and given my party members (and myself) the opportunity to lay down with bursting arrow and tempest and walking bomb and a shield bash followed by Chain lightning and if any of them were still moving Miasmic flask would have put paid to any of their plans . . .

No such thing as too much firepower is my mage Hawke's motto. :D

Even better, they could have had it be possible to save the delegation but left the Qunari vulnerable to friendly fire just to screw with the Nightmare players.  That would have been PRICELESS.

Yes, poor Shamus, what a waste. :(  Also, when "Sister Nightengale" recommends that the Grand Cleric leave the city (and she refuses), have proceeded to stuff her in a burlap sack with her stupid relics and load her on board the nearest ship with a note pinned to the sack saying "your Chantry Seeker gave me an order to get this stupid old crone out of the city.  I have done so.  If she doesn't like it, tell her she's lucky I used a clean sack."

3. Recruit a desire demon for my party :wizard:

My name is Maria and I support this message.

I should have been able to hand Sebastion over to the desire demon for permanent hosting purposes. Just imagine the Anders/Seb banter then!

I like that idea. You did get some trophies to show up in the Keep in Awakening, so it's a shame they couldn't expand upon that idea for your house in DA2.
