Just for Fun:D

In a direct 1:1 battle, who would win?

I'd say the Arishok by far if they would use normal weapons, but with her Lyrium-Lightsaber or whatever this nonsense was, I think Meredith would be the victor.

Opinions?

Its....A nail biter...In 1 on 1 with normal not lyrium enhanced god items? Arishok barely.

Of course Meredith can jump like a ninja and sting like when I pee.... So I am betting on her with the Lyrium-Saber.

she can jump like a ninja WHILE IN COMPLETE ARMOR. She will cut the arishok's limbs and make him love ver long time.

One boss is designed to be fought 1 on 1. The other is designed for a fight with ALL your companions and other npcs helping. Why bother comparing?

edited to all caps the ALL because it's even the ones not in your party helping.

Well like I said, you may also compare the two without the Lyrium-Lightsaber.

The Arishok, obviously, due to the dual advantages of being qunari and male.

With in game fighting I'd say Meredith for the simple fact that she's designed to be faught with all companions and possibly three noncompanion NPCs. But a cinematic fight, Arishok.

Well Arishok dies before Meridith starts wearing the uber blade. So Arishok would win since Meridith's job is fighting mages, not giants.

For some reason started to think about Fate\\Stay Night Saber with a hoodie asking for a couple of coppers to get "a fix"

I acutally think she would have looked better without the (long) hair.

Well, surely not *handsome*, but it would have fitted better.

Meredith would win in a fight, but the Arishok would win in a cool contest.

If Meredith didn't have her crazy lyrium sword then the Arishok would probably win.

Meredith.  The Arishok is a pitiful coward.  He's been sitting in a slum planning a mass murder where he flees from someone he knows could challenge him, Hawke, while using his cannon fodder underlings to cover his retreat.  I haven't seen any proof he even trains to fight for himself, just that he commands soldiers like an admiral that sits behind a desk and doesn't have either the skill or the testicular fortitude to do what he commands others to do.  The only person we actually see him fight is Hawke when he has nowhere left to run like the sad little girl he is, and that's a fight they couldn't give us a pushover for gameplay reasons.

Meredith, much as I can't stand her, is deserving of respect as a warrior.  She didn't get her position by having the biggest horns, she got it by training the hardest and being the most powerful knight in her order.  Even before her lyrium sword she beheads a qunari with ease,  She was out there on her own unlike everyone else (even Hawke), taking it to the qunari and coming out on top.  The only reason she wasn't the one that chops up the Arishok is because Hawke was there.

No.  The Qun told me to be a giant flaming hypocrite about everything so that one day I could be an arishok.

The Arishok is a joke. He's a pathetic loser who rather target easy victims like Viscount. If he was really aesome he would have actually targeted Meredith at the end of act 2 when he was taking over Kirkwall but he doesn't have the balls to face her.

Not to mention, you lose a lot of 'cool points' when you make the Kirkwall templars come acorss as saints in how they treat their mages. Not to mention, losing even more cool point when you commit mass murder over a missing book instead of tagteing the actual thief. The Arishok is just like those religious fanatics that murder innocvent by standers because of some douche across the planet burned a book. Makes me sick.

The only time the Arishok ever came across as 'cool' when he was putting that one dwarf in his palce. Otherwise, when I had the option for a duel, I refused, because I ultimtaely realzied, the Arishok didn't deserve the 'honour' of facing me a duel.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Super Ultra Meredith eats the Arishok alive.
Normal Meredith struggles a bit for using a 1 handed sword with no shield, but still wins because the Arishok is a big clumsy oaf.

The lesson? Don't pick your military leaders based oh who's born when.

Whaaaat? I didn't even have healer in that fight and I honestly didn't use that many pots vs. her. She hits like a woman...

EDIT: AH RIGHT.

Has anyone noticed how much weaker Meredith is DPS wise during that fight?

Going by who was harder to defeat, the Arishok would win. Meredith was overrated and easy to take down.

I must say Arishok if Meredith did not have the lyriumsaber (like that one lol). Meredith is a templar and probably able to kill any mage no matter how powerful, but since the Arishok is a plain warrior he will own her. How powerful and dangerous Qunari and the Arishok are sadly was lost in the story.
