The Aroshok wasn't given the postion of
Arishok as a child. He was asigned the position of a warrior when he was
a child and he rose in position inside that caste because he was the
most effiecient

That would mean he superceeded his role.
So apparently Sten and the Arishok are both liars.

Well, technically, they both are

Think what you want, but we are still talking about COMBAT-SKILLS here.
And the *slowmotion* argument doesn't count, this is just a stylistic/gameplay device.

So what about the "someone who brings two weapons that size, has no effin clue about duels and *will* need incredible luck, or get murdered by any half decent fighter" argument? Unless you know better how he looks, and what equipment he uses. (In that case, shame on bioware for getting it all wrong)

If Meredith was able to handle the Arishok so easily, then why didn't she already have the job done without Hawke?

Because she, and less then a dozen templars, are busy handling *the entire rest of the qunari forces in kirkwall* and still manage to arrive mere seconds after the arishoks death? :P

Um... she was there before the showdown with the Arishok. She was outside plotting with Hawke but Hawke went inside to battle him. If Meredith was so overpowered over the Arishok, she should have stepped up and went inside to own him while Hawke kept the Qunari at bay.

Or maybe the deemed "the rest of the qunari army, that just realized their defenses were breached" a bigger threat then one lout mouthed idiot and a dozen of his guards?

Oh, so now the Qunari are great defenses that got breached?

And choose diversion and Orsino takes out the whole group outside by himself with ONE SHOT for cryin' out loud. So what does that say about him?

Funny how you guys say the henchmen are suddenly a big threat but then you turn around to say they are not then they are again. Now, are they weak or not? Let's get that straight then we can move on. Either way once you stop the flip flopping then it will support the Shok being awesome or Meredith being overrated. Pick one.

You mean the same group that Orsino takes out some of to distract them then runs the hell away? That group?

He didn't run in mine. Did you get a mod to do that for you?

Don't be jealous now, darling.

www.youtube.com/watch

He backs away and clearly has to either have run off screen, or the Qunari ran past him.
I'll leave it to you to decide which is more likely and either way, not all of the Qunari are taken out.

A single qunari is no threat, and neither is the arishok. But I'm pretty sure, at least lorewise, the hundred or so qunari alive at this point, are a bigger threat then the Arishok all by himself.

There's about four Qunari chasing him. So Meridith needs 12 templars to take on 4 of them?

Because those are the only Qunari left in all Kirkwall?

No but Meridith is just outside with her Templars do could she not just go in and kill the Arishok and then deal with the others?

No, that's up to you because you're the hero. That's how these things work.

Game mechanics as you like to say. Another contradiction by Angry.

She didn't want to go inside and face the 'Shok. Because if she was soooooo much greater, she could have went inside, finished him, then came back out before Hawke had time to make a sandwich. She's overrated. And a disappointment as the final boss fight.

You need to learn the difference between game mechanics and acts of plot. It works the same way in a book or movie.

Who said so much greater? Again, most claims that she could easily dispatch the Arishok are for crazy sword Meredith. The crazy sword she doesn't have yet.
For normal Meredith, given both their strengths and weaknesses it would be an even match, one which in my opinion Meredith would emerge the winner.

And my opinion is the 'Shok would win. People have said the strength vs speed thing and how speed would win. Not always. Think boxing. If that's true, Mike Tyson would never have won the title. I know you can turn around and said if strength always won then Ali wouldn't have either. There's other skills than just that simple involved as to who can fight "their fight". If you say Meredith could survive melee range in the fight, then I know you are just trying to troll. Only thing I can't say Meredith would have the range advantage because does she have real range (outside of sword range) in Act 2? And that crazy vertical leaping I don't see her doing that without her version of the light sabre. So her leaping was just her using the Force I guess. Meredith was a sith lord I guess.

Heavy weight boxing is about one man trying to out-heavy the other. Of course the strongest will win, because both are fighting the same way.
Meredith would not be fighting the same way as the Arishok and neither does Hawke for that matter, gameplay or otherwise.

Are you listening to what I've been writing for two entire pages, have you ever been in anything resembling a swordfight, or are *you* just trying to troll? :|

And this post just shows you really don't read posts. I acknowledged that. Notice what I said about Ali? I said it was more than just fighting one style then just relying on strength or speed.

But if that can be said about her fighting a different style, who says he wouldn't? We can speculate all day and it works both ways, doesn't it?
