With this build, I rarely if ever need to micromanage my other party members and I played hard so that I could actually spec the other characters for AOE damage/effects. This playthrough is taking about a third as much time as my nightmare first playthrough as a 2H warrior... during which I think I killed Isabella at least 800 times.

Are the new Rogue pack weapons worth using?
Jarvia's Shank and Beraht's Revenge
*edit*
If not, what should i go for instead?
Carta's Right+ Left hand?
Also, thanks for the guide, tried it out and am having loads of fun
*gives cookie*
Both rogue weapons are great until well into Act 2 and probably Act 3 depending on what you spend your cash on.

What? There's a new patch out? Guess that's what happens when you vanish for a month or tow. Good to see Arelex still showing us common folk (and by that I mean less attractive) how things are done.
shep! i thought you left me
the patch sucks, but i force myself to play it to assist the peasants who have lifted me even higher into legend
(this means you)
<3
i love you all

The issue is this: it will require some finesse and judgment calls on your parts. It's harder to play, but better and stronger, overall. This has all been a lengthy introduction to 'It uses no tank and Walking Bomb'.
If you guys think you can handle that, by all means, let me know. If not, I'll make something more 'user-friendly'.

The archers can be dealt with by positioning, but the assassins take forever to down and are just destroying everything

Look forward to your new "finesse" build!
@ Grishnaz
I think AreleX repeated this, but on NM I did find that Varric, Anders and Merrill are the strongest team even for Hawke Rogue. In Act 1, all party ranged DPS ends fights before things get too hairy, but it is hairy until you get to use stuns/distractions like Glyph of Paralysis, Decoy, Grenades, Mabari, etc. Archers get the royal treatment first, unless there's an assassin/mage, in which case Horror, Winters Grasp, Hex of Torment/Brand usually gets you time to lay on the hurt. CCCs will do it even faster. Strange to step out without a tank but try it and you may be delighted with the speed you can clear most fights.

Did you play this from the start nm? im lvl 8 now and its been really tough, takes ages to down assassins, and archer spawns absolutely destroy merril/anders

It's definately doable on nm. I'm currently doing a Shadow/Assassin run with party of Merrill, Anders and Seb and it's a pretty beastly team.
Assassins have been nerfed a bit in the last patch so they're easier to take down than before. If you don't imobilise them before they go into stealth you need to use distractionary methods to avoid them targetting Hawke or your party members ie dog or Decoy if playing shadow.
With your ranged party members you can have them target archers so they don't get slaughtered straight out.
But I'm pretty sure all of this has been mentioned already at some point.
@ Arelex I'd like to see the new set up with wb cause you know I like to live dangerously

OK, guys. I've got a build ready to go, and have for a while.

Post the WB build. I might curse your name more than a few times, but at least there will be some challenge involved. XD

i enjoy duelist more
the whole reason i have taken so long in updating this guide is because i find shadow boring as hell, and shadow/assassin is now far and away the best combo
