Of all the things wrong with the game, I think that bothers me the most.

It's one of the mysterious of life. Why is the sky blue? Is The Pope REALLY Catholic? And the best of all the questions - what the heck does rlsp;a stand for?

I guess we'll never know.

I bet that it is EA's fault somehow.

Yeah and the sound it made when it exploded was pretty good as well. DA2's fireball doesn't have the same effect when it explodes.

I think the fireball needs more awesome. It could transform into a dragon which shoots lightning and has boobs while it travels through the air.

Well, in DA2 they have blasted the skill system of DA:Origins. The skill map looks flashy but lacks depths.

Not just fireball, look at firestorm, it is random hits of fireballs from sky where as in DA:Origins fire will lit up an entire circle area and consistently damage hostiles .
Alot of powerfull skills have been eliminated in DA2 .... looks like they not only " STREAMLINED" the game but also tonned or dumbed down mage or magic skills :P

I bet DA:Origin mages can kick DA2 mages depending on the skills.

Origin Mage Vs. DA2 mage might be interesting to see. Difficult to implement, but an interesting idea nevertheless....

My personal favourites in every fight were , mass paralyze, then firestorm, after which a blizzard to freeze enemies and lightening storm.

I would just make the hostiles constantly immovable and keept damaging them while my warrior dual sword wielding warrior would cut through the enemies. I really felt the power of mages in DA:O

now that experience was awesome .... thankfully DA:O didnt had "Awesome" button :P instead gameplay made the experience awesome :P

You know, it would have been awesome if you could have summoned a pink unicorn which you could ride. And when it moves everything will turn into rabbits, rainbows and lollipops. Pink rabbits, rainbows and lollipops.

No thanks. There was no button awesome in DA2 because Epic Templar Guy wasn't in it. Button awesome was suppose to be LT to summon Epic Templar Guy to rape your enemies but this was scrapped at the last minute.

...Scary mental image.

The templar assassins which jump down from roofs and can turn invisible give a completely new meaning to surprise buttsex.

That sounds just like Knight of the Round from FFVII... 'cept the raping part.

Well rape doesn't only mean sexual assault. It also means to drain the resources of something which is exactly what Epic Templar Guy did. Just his presence made enemies drop on the floor having epileptic fits and their deaths came when their bones curled up and their own soul consumed them and destroyed them from existence. When you summoned Epic Templar Guy - he would either fall out of the sky, punch himself to you or come out from the ground. Some enemies would kill themselves but Epic Templar Guy would bring them back to life just to kill them by smashing their skulls into the ground, kicking them into the sky and using force magic to smash them back down. He'd then urinate on them and then kick himself into space.

SPOILERS:

You would later find out that Epic Templar Guy is The Maker hence his awesomeness.

Mages in DA: Origins were way much overpowered, I think. Bioware probably wanted to tone down this aspect of the game, making sure that it really would pay off to have a well-balanced party in DA2. Magic is supposed to be really, really scarce in Thedas, and yet mages can make it rain from the heavens or create blizzards with their hands....not believable, not in Thedas. Maybe in D&D, but definetely not in Thedas.

Fireball is doing penance for breaking the first 3/4ths of Origins.

scarce? you can't spit in kirkwall without getting a blood mage wet!
i killed hundreds of those fackers, even though i was on their side!
and to top it off, i even had to kill orsino even though i was killing templars left and right for him!

That brings another question to mind... why the hell do mages in Kirkwall seem to get possessed by demons every single time someone so much as sneezes within a 20 meter radius of them?

Even Anders comments on how damn common abominations are in-game.  "Can't you people ever say no?  If just for aesthetic reasons."

The Enigma of Kirkwall codex entries suggest there's something weird, and ancient, and evil going on underneath Kirkwall. It's never stated explicitly what, but even Kirkwall's layout supposedly has some (sinister) symbolic meaning.

I attribute it to that.

Something interesting to me is how it seems like they were aware of the weakness of fire and gave it so many things to boost it. There's two +25% fire damage talents in the tree, and an inordinate amount of "X% fire damage" gear in the game.

If you play on lower difficulty it is stronger.
