What should I use it on? I'm afraid that it'll be a waste in the future when expansions come out and there will be better items. Should I save it?

Primeval Lyrium Rune? It's a rune that increases your attack speed by +30%!!!!!!!!

you have a while till expansions, enjoy the game now. Put it in your favorite weapon.

You could always do a 'Canon' runthrough once DLC / Expansions come out if it's that important and keep it then but for now there's no point just have fun with your insane attack speed. (Or keep a spare save before slotting it and play from there)

You could also use sunnie's mods that have some weapons and gear that are changed to level with you like the fadeshear longsword. Sure the weapons and armor will start out with fewer stats compared to their higher level incarnations (champion's armor set is a good exammple) but you won't have to worry about changing out weapons or armor anymore and any runes you put in them will increase as well.

I put it on Bianca. Seemed only fair, and Varric is a monster with +30% attack speed.

If you're a rouge and all you have is +#% attack speed equipment and the primeval rune everything just falls around you in seconds especially with haste

Since I always use Varric, I put it in Bianca. The weapon scales with his level, and I was frequently replacing mine. Plus Varric hits like a truck.

Honestly I think if your not using it yourself you should let varric keep it. It gives bianca 3 extra rune slots which at a decent level is about 20+ elemental damage more per rune... better than the extra speed imo

As a warrior, your best bet would be to put it on Sataareth.

You do realize that Varric can get +65% Attack Speed without ever using a single rune?

Personally, I'd make a hard save, then slot it in Hawke's favorite weapon and have lots of fun. The only thing more fun than a Two Handed Vanguard is a Two Handed Vanguard with +30% Attack Speed.

I'm not claiming to know what the best use for it is, but consider that if there is DLC or an expansion your Hawke will no doubt replace his weapon quickly, and the rune will be wasted.

Varric will always have Bianca, the weapon scales to his level and the rune scales in strength to the level of the weapon it's attached too.

I have no doubt Varric will be available for use in DLC, he is pretty much unanimously the most liked companion in DA2 overall. BioWare knows that.

haha ive never thought of that, i have all his speed upgrades and hes a rapid fire cannon of death i wonder how fast he shoots with the rune as well
