Kind of a weird pseudo gameplay question for everyone here. I have a module campaign I want to make, but time is a factor. Simply put, being the only person working on my project (which is a fairly large one) means that I won't be able to create as much original content as I want to.  A large issue would be the creation of new levels for all the areas I have planned, especially since I keep running into strange bugs with the system.

What I could do, however, is use some of the level setups from Dragon's Age. With a bit of level editing, entirely new encounters, battles, NPCs, etc. I'd be able to produce the game I want to. I'd still make original levels for where I needed them, but I'd use existing levels where they mesh with what I need.

However, I understand that visiting the a look-a-like area from the game that you've been through, probably more than once, might be boring or irritating.

So I have to ask, how much do you think the gameplay would suffer if old levels were used in a new campaign?

Thanks.

Can you even open up the raw level files? All I found were the exported ones that you can use in areas.  (Meaning you probably won't be able to edit anything visually or collision wise on the levels)

It depends what you use, and what kind of release it is. A lot of the content in the game, particularly the underground / ruins stuff is quite generic. Maybe you could use different exportable areas from the DA levels and link them to mix it up a bit?

There's got to be some way to open up the levels in level editor, if not now then maybe later when they add the raw levels. I'll need to be able to do it, since I do intend to edit them quite a bit, and the splicing and dicing sounds like one thing I'd be able to do pretty quickly.

I'm mainly talking about those generic areas, like the random battles between towns or the random battles in denerim, as well as the interior home designs.

If you dress it up with some placeables in new locations, it will be hard to tell they are the same.

i know that the PC Gamer addon was just a clone of the Dwarf Noble Deep Roads dungeon, with all the npcs, enemies, and loot replaced...

unless they're special

Yeah, but I would like to be able to edit the actual level so it isn't the EXACT same without having to build a completely new level. I can already do something like that by making a new area with the Deep Roads layout.

Anyone know if this is possible?
