If the 1 million number is right then it is cumulative from PC, 360, and PS3.
The sales goals of Bioware after EA's buyout has been discussed in serveral interviews and 1million sales across 3 platforms is not going reach the goal EA wants.

One million in LESS than TWO weeks.
But of course that's a lie, right? Because it HAS to be.

A lot of those would have been pre-orders and those fool enough to believe early reviews. Since then sales have fallen off a cliff.
Really? You have all that official insight? Can you get me a job at Bioware please?
Read the OP, look at the number of pre owned copies in your local store. Why else are they doing a two for one offer only a month after release? EA aren't known for their generosity.

Have to do b*tch quotes because my thing is f*cking up.
Anyways
EA gave an autographed free copy of Dead Space 2 to a gamer whose dog destroyed her other copy. That doesn't seem stingy to me.
Activision has taken over EA's previously held spot of Most Evil Entity in Video Games. EA doesn't seem to be too bad nowadays.
Just saying...

Tell that to EA and the 800 million dollars they spent on Bioware. The sales numbers EA are chasing after are the numbers CoD and Halo reach.

EA has refreshed their negative standings with their NFL dealings, streamlining processes in various IPs, and absurd projects aimed at reducing used game sales. There are bad companies out there, it is not a case of "there can be only one!"

I have just started playing playing Crysis2. (NOTE - I am new to crysis franchise , it is a sci-fi kind of shooter and I am liking it , it is simple not much fuss. The graphics are not sure good or bad since I have to really play on low res as my graphic card seem to be a bit outdated for this game .... the point about Crysis2 with respect to DA2 worth noticing is that fan reaction of Crysis2 isnt even remotely as critical as DA2.
Crysis 2 fans are also saying its dumbed down, a bit bland to please more console players but still they say it is a good game. Most of them like its MP which looks like a deal breaker for shooters... these days
I won't be getting Crysis 2. I played the demo, didn't care for it, was invited to the multiplayer beta, and did that. It isn't as good looking as Crysis, nor is it as engaging as Crysis was in the dingle player campaign. Crysis is still the benchmark for testing out rigs to this day (nearly 4 years after its release). The enemies look generic and the AI wasn't anything like it was in Crysis, but I admit that was the demo.
Considering that Crysis 2 didn't even sell 600K across all platforms in its first week, it looks like it may be a failure. Only one person on my XBL friend's list has it. But among a few that I know who bought, they say it is the best looking game on the 360 ever.

Well, they are saying it officially, so we cant write off this claim so easily unless someone has audited sales records of DA2 title from EA/Bioware which is very unlikely to happen.
And to push the sales further and keep going they have come out with a smart move of giving AAA title which was also a goty by many free to download till 30th April ie ME2.
This means they are making sure that sales do not die before two months of the release.
Sad isn't it? And if you read the part where they claim it was even ahead of Origins (which it was) after the two week period in sales, they seem to be claiming victory. Funny though, I didn't see any offer similar to this after two weeks of Origins sales. But from week 3 on comparatively, Origins beats it badly.

That just proves the credibility of DA:O that it didnt needed a promotion as big as this one like giving a AAA title like ME2 who also won GOTY award FREE !!!!!!!!
If you look at it from different perspectives, this move just proves the credibility of DA:O even more

Your very on conclusions and perceptions are similarly baseless UNLESS you have AUDITED sales records of the DA2 game title.

Then go and find an alternative source, sales of the PC version were already in freefall last week in the UK charts, charts compliled by an industry body. Just look at how many second hand copies of the console versions are on the shelves and ask yourself why they need a two for one offer so soon after release. None of these things point to the success EAs marketing drones are claiming.

You guys really need to pay more attention when reading Press Releases from either Bioware(EA) or Bethseda...
Thanks to gamers like you, Dragon Age II is off to a great start – breaking the 1 million mark in less than two weeks and faster than Dragon Age: Origins.
Notice how the word "Sold" doesn't exist anywhere in their statement? Notice how it is completely ambiguous on exactly what mark it broke?
It's very likely that they Shipped 1 million units, not sold.
See, it's a very interesting thing about cooporations, especially publicly held ones. You cannot make factually incorrect statements about sales, or the SEC comes and fines the heck out of you (And I mean *really* big fines).
So the current trend is to carefully word Press Statements such that the word "Sold" is never used, but designed to be assumed by the reader.

I can't even begin to guess how you can guess that from just 3 games since the money spent buying out Bioware is a seperate from the money spent funding game production and operating Bioware. Anyway the EA Bioware sales put up decent numbers if you ignore what EA wants from Bioware.

yeah, it may not be as good as Crysis but Crysis2 is still good to give a try thats what overall mood is of the fans.... which is I think fair because not every game can be a huge success but still Crysis2 is doing well atleast not as bad as DA2 where EA/Bioware have to really start giving free AAA title such as ME2 to increase the sales.
Don't get me wrong, C2 has achieved very high praise from just about any gaming site, and the player reviews are nearly all 9s or higher, unlike the reception DA2 got from players. It looked awesome on PC, but I can tell they left a bit out of it since it is crossplatform. Still though, EA is going after the MW crowd, but I have the feeling in that crowd may be fading fast and tiring of the same old, same old. It's the reason why I have given up on shooters long ago, they don't interest me anymore. Admittedly, I was very limited on that genre anyway as RPGs are my real love in gaming.

Spot on, this is also a trick Microsoft use regularly. If you look at their figures for kinect or whatever it's called they tend to be units shipped rather than units sold.

Why does that matter? If they ship it, that is what the retailers order, they then already paid for the copies, so technically, it is sold. Only the retailer (outside of digital downloads) know how many actually went out the door to the end user. Whether or not there is some contract clause where the publishers takes back copies due to poor end sales is another question.

I understand and agree what you are point to. However I wont agree on 1 Million sales whether they included the word sold or not. Yes they might include anything of DA2 which adds into the game in the total sales figure. They may even include the steam or digital sales which occur through downloads from their site which many sites never taken into account since they do not have data of it.
So the way I see it , they got 1 Million sales including everything ( even those sales which are not considered or can not be taken into account by other agencies or sites due to many factors )

You'd be wrong. DAO was finished shortly after the purchase, and then held up nearly a year due to EA's insistence.
DA2 was started under EA while DAO was on hold, as was Awakening. ME2 wasn't started until 2 years after EA bought Bioware, and it's very clear from the design that EA had a hand in it. TOR was in production prior.
DAO sold 3.2 million units.
ME2 sold 1.6 million units.
DA2 might have sold 1 million units.
That's a total of 5.8 million units, being generous and saying they're getting $20 per copy sold, they made about 116 million.
EA paid ~775 million for Bioware.

Your numbers are so off. ME2 sold as much if not more than DA1.
DA2 is stille arly and has sold more than 1 mil copies in less thann 2 weeks and is currently faster paced than DA1.
That said, EA likely over paid and is demanding too much of BIO b/c BIO is not 'mainstream' in the same way Blizzard or the Sims are. They never were, and never will be.
